1. It amazes me that people count players out after one appearance. That''s the kind of short sighted thinking that got this club into the problems we had/have.
2. Hoolahan is a good player, but he is not a good league one player. We need players on the right and left who can pout a decent ball into the box, and Hoolahoop is not that man. Lappin and McVeigh are much better suited to this kind of football. Get some money for Hooli and move on. He doesn''t want to be here, and personally I feel that we don''t really need him here, not this year. Different football means different tactics and Lambert got it spot on today. Only thing I would change from today is perhaps McDonald up top with Holt instead of Cureton.Happy trails Hool
3. Maybe Gill just needs time, unfortunately when he has been as bad as he has, and the other central midfielders we have, not sure he will be given time
4. He was making his first appearance in front of a crowd of over 25,000 and he was put straight into danger by that ridiculous back pass, I''m sure he lost just as much confidence in his defence after that as they did in him. That early back pass and the resulting missed punch would of stuck in his head all through the game. We need to give him a chance, if he does well in training, then playn him, if he cracks under the pressure and makes mistakes then we find he is better suited to a smaller club. We can''t give someone a 2 year contract, give him one game and then get rid of him. Nobody proves themselves in one game and nobody proves they are no good in one game.
5.
And if you had watched the video of the match you might realise that, whilst agreeing Theo did not have a good game, he had a complete joke of a defence in front of him. Nobody becomes a bad player overnight and Theo is no exception. Yes he had a poor game but he is not the only sportsman to have a bad game and still prove himself. The Ashes are the big news at the moment, just remember Graham Gooch''s first two innings for England ..... 0 and 0. Did that make him a bad batsman? I do not think he is anywhere near as good as previous Norwich goalkeepers, on that one showing, but we have always been, until recently, blessed with some top performers. Perhaps we should step back and try to anylyse how many goals he was actually to blame for.
Here here sir, well said.
6. I honestly think that there will only be one change, and that will come in the form of Hughes in midfield instead of Gill
7. Wouldn''t mind as long as he got some match practise before starting, If it keeps Gill out of the line-up, then all for it
8. Yer I''m all for giving Theo another chance at some point in the future, but right now Alnwick isn''t doing a bad job, no reason to drop him. Would send the wrong message I think dropping a player who was performing
9. Russel is not in a different league than Hughes, Gill maybe but not Hughes. We have not even given Hughes a proper chance, spare minutes here and there, he had one half of football, looked decent on the ball and we scored 4 goals. Would swap Hughes in for Russell (How many minutes has Russell played lately? he would probably be shattered by the 30 minute mark, or sent off), and Maric upfront with Holt with Cody bringing the pace off the bench for the last 20-25 minutes when the defence is tiring.
10. As long as Lambert starts Hughes over Gill I will be pleased.
11. Not sure Russell has the nessasary match fitness to start right now but wouldn''t mind him being included at some point. As for Cureton would much rather us give Maric a start....more importantly was Gill still in centre mid, as if so I don''t think it matters who we play up top, it won''t get there with any real quality if Gill is playing.
12. I remember Clint Easton and Mark Rivers getting a few boos....
13. Here is a article on the injury and although nothing is certain, they fear that he could be out for a while:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5502414,00.htmlBy Harry Redknapps own admission there, with Gomez down it only leaves Cuddicini, so although I''m hoping Alnwick will stay, it''s not looking good.
...This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential...And that''s your real name. And Mr Goreham is aware of this thread. If, in the amazingly unlikely event that we were about to be bought out by Lucky Laundry #8 - Double Happiness Corporation of Shanghai, and Mr Goreham knew about it, would you seriously expect him to tell you, in the knowledge that any information he passed on to you would be broadcast here ?I do like the word "Incredulity"...
I think we are reaching for some hope here. If we were about to bought out and he knew about it, as a journalist I would think a scoop like that would be all over the papers.
