1. I don''t care if we don''t buy anyone, so long as we don''t have to sell. There were too many rumours on Saturday that Hoolahoop and or Holt may need to be sold to balance the books in January. If we can keep the squad together, then automatic promotion should be realistic.
2.
I think it''s really important that Lambert sticks with Francombe; and also reckon Curo should get a start after recent goals. Think with the pace we have got in Hoolahan, and Lappin''s good form, we could really casue them problems on Monday.
I think it''s a good job you aren''t a football manager. Bring in Cureton, great idea! Drop either Holt or Martin from a winning team when both are playing well and scoring goals. As for Lappin performing well, he has done ok, but IMO has been one of our least effective players in recent games, but would still be in my time. Do you watch the games?
3. That''s a bit harsh Clint. I don''t think the other posters are moaning. I agree with them that Lappin''s form hasn''t been as good over the last couple of games and IMO our worse player on Saturday. However, he is very important to the team and will have better games, whilst WLY is a useful squad player.
4. Great club with fans that we will enjoy some banter with on Saturday. Very different to Bristol City, who have had more success but lack a little class.
5. I agree. I always thought that he was a wide right midfield player, but Lambert mentioned that he wants more youth in the team as he felt that the team lacked energy and so far Smith has impressed me in a holding midfield role.
6.
I think if anyone else had been told the same, it would be reported in the press too. I don''t like the way Lambert singles out certain players like Dotherty and Hoolahan. There are far worse players at the club. Reminds me of how Roeder used to treat certain players too!
You "think" but you don''t "know". Usual guesswork, pointless post.
7. Sideshow, I am afraid IMO you are wrong. As I have posted before, Martin is very different to all of the other forwards that we have as he prefers to play deeper and to use his creativity. He is not a target man. Basically, Holt and Maric are target players, whilst Cureton and MacDonald like to play off the last defender.
8.
Hopefully Theo will gave gained lots of confidence from that last minute save and the clean sheet. Whaley looked a decent player pre-season but it seems to have gone to pot for him as of late. Id start with Martin on saturday, yes he may be like Holt but he isn''t scared to have a shot and has a decent shot on him at that. Glad Maric played better, he looked poor in the JPT match.Hopefully he can build on this now. And for the young lads, a good runout :)
Martin may be like Holt? Chris Martin is a vey different forward to the others in our squad. He prefers to play deaper, picking the ball up from the mid-field and using his creativity. He works well wide in a front three, but IMO would be better just off Holt in a 442. Lambert appears to prefer playing Holt alongside a more advanced forward, looking for the ball over the top, which isn''t Martin''s game.
9. City to win 3-1 With goals from Martin, Holt and Smith
10. The stupid fans should accept the bans We shared their anger and pain but acting like tw*ts just brought us shame.
11. The best football that I have ever seen city play was whilst we had a former keeper in charge!
12. The board won''t sack Gunny after the first game of the season and I am sure his pride won''t allow him to quit as he will feel that he can turn things around. Personally, I am waiting until the next 3 games are out of the way before taking a view as whilst yesterday was the worst football performance that i have ever seen from any team, 3 games away from Carrow Road might help the players to get their confidence back and i can not believe that all of them are as bad as they showed yesterday (apart from possibly theo who was a complete joke). We may find that yesterday''s result was a freak and that we perform in the next three games as we did in pre-season or we may continue as badly in which case Gunn most go. I for one hope that Gunn turns it around and i can not wait until Tuesday so that I can stop thinking about yesterday!
13. If you look at the list of direct debits for your account, they don''t usually change until after the payment has been made, so it may still be showing the old amount and will reduce once your next payment is made.
14. Drury could have a good season for us, so long as he can stay fit. I just wish he wouldn''t give forwards so much space. He seems at times to invite the cross rather than to close his man down.
15. Sorry - didn''t realise that you two were a bit of an item.   Seriously though, I may have misread the post as I interpreted the comment regarding the future being bright with Chippy in charge as OP''s hope that he takes over the first team, wheareas now I am assuming that OP is referring to Chippy running the researves. Please accept my humble apologies.
16. The season hasn''t yet started and you are already running Gunn down. Those fans that I have spoken to are really pleased with the squad and how pre-season has gone and are really looking forward to the new season, which hasn''t been the case for the last few years. You are no doubt praying for city to have a poor start so that you can start running the club down again with pointless posts such as this one.
17. I was not keen on Gunn being given the managers job until the end of last season as i felt we were already doomed so why allow fans to direct their anger at a true city legend, who didn''t have the resources to put things right. Whilst we were relegated, I could see a lot of positives from appointing Gunn such as team selection (but not his choice and timing of substitutions) signings, commitment and his choice of coaching staff. I am really impressed with the squad that he has put together and we might just have a team to be proud of once again. Whether Gunny has the ability to see that squad through the season to promotion at the end we will have to wait and see.
18. Although it will only be our reserves playing, I am thinking of going to tonight''s game. Does anyone know whether  you can turn up and buy tickets at the ground?
