1. Just used the bbc predictor,to be top at portman road, we have to beat swansea, watford and forest...The at Portaloo Road, beat the scum and we go top. This is of course QPR at the worst draw against Barnsley and Derby respectively!!!
 2. Portman Road???Is the song going to be resung??? [:D]With QPR losing at the minute... A possibility!
 3.
OTJ - one of pnly a couple in the first half team to come out with much credit. Think he could have a future as a CB. Got caught out a couple of times but generally looked composed and pretty decent on the ball. If a toss up between him and Gill I would now keep him rather than Gill.
I started a post the other day about him at centre back...Glad to see someone else is thinking the same!!!
 4. Might be worth keeping then if Ward is still carrying a knock, Whitbread has been injury prone and it seems like Askou is on his way as he wasn''t in the Germany Squad or last nights squad. Squad player in my opinion who might have found his new position at centre back...played last night there and against Kings Lynn. Definatly got some height and personally i prefer a tall centre back!
 5. Just a thought... Who here thinks OTJ could peform at centre back... now I know we have 4 Decent Centre Backs in Whitbread, Ward, Nelson and Askou but if we had a slight injury problem later on who here thinks he could do a job in this position?
 6.

Semi had a few defensive frailties...and they were a few! But seeing as how his contract was up at the end of the season; and seeing how we have no real right winger as such if we decided to switch to 4 4 2; it would have been nice to see what he could have done on the wing. He has pace oozing out of his nether regions and could hit a good cross... Yes he struggled to track back and defend at right back, but on the wing he would have less to worry about having a solid right back behind him! Now I know he rarely went forward, but I think that may have been due to everyone on his back when he did get forward and never defended! And yes I am prepared to recieve abuse from the official I hate Semi Club!
I don''t think there is an official I hate Semi Club unless I''ve missed something. I''ve highlighted in blue what I think is your most significant point. The point being that he was only ever regarded by Lambert and his predecessors as a right back and was only ever played in that position. Therefore, the comments on this thread can only be about his ability or otherwise in that position not specualation about how well he might have played in another position. For that matter, I''m sure he would have put in a better shift in goal against Cameldung Utd than Theoklitis......... but then I guess most of our outfield players would have done on that day.
Thanks for your input...it just might have been nice to let him have a chance and find a position he was good at! Unless of course Semi has been a complete tw*t in training and refused and help or whatever... which does sound possible after hearing that he is a very arrogent person...not my opinion just what I have heard.
I can''t argue with that. I would have liked to have seen him played in right midfield too but who would have been dropped to make way ? Plus, Lambert has said we have too many midfielders. I will be interested to see how well he plays at Southampton and indeed in what position he is played. I was at St Mary''s for the league match a short while ago and he didn''t have a good match and his inability to close players down led to the Connolly goal. That having been said I''m not a football manager and Pardew is IMO a pretty decent one...  time will tell.
Personally i hope he proves the doubters wrong

 16. here''s a probable partial list of players i can think of... (forgive me if I have left anyone out!) GK: Andy ''Judas'' Marshall, Mark Tyler, Joe Lewis, Declan Rudd, Jed Steer, Aaron Lee-Barrett, Richard Wright DF: Matt Upson, Adam Drury, Alex Bruce (although I think he has declared himself for Ireland) MF: Matty Gill, Tom Adeyemi, Ed Upson, Keiron Dyer, ST: Chris Martin, Justin Hazell, Looking through Wikipedia and like flown from the barclay, I am really struggling with players of note who where born in east anglia! The team would probably have to be filled with youth team players and maybe some who have only just retired!!! Good thread though, passed some time at work!!!
 17. has danny mills retired? lol we might have to start thinking bout using the jarvis brothers and hendo...im really struggling with this one!
 18. just so you guys are aware, aviva have not sent all their call centres abroad!!! In fact there is only one or two left abroad... The company is seeking to find new staff locally and around the UK for its many UK based centres... The reason why it puts more into UK Athletics is because Aivia sponsered this first and it is the major sporting event/team it sponsers!!!
 19. holtys on leave coz his wifes just had a lil boy!!!
 20. Right yes Gunny was the wrong man for the job etc, but is it me or don''t things quite add up? All these talks about rifts in former team Gunn may have some truth. I mean dont get me wrong, yes he was a poor manager, but to sack him not directly after our 7-1 destruction thanks to the hands of Colchester and to actually sack him 3 days after a 4-0 win and just before a league game.....surely somethings going on that we aint being told! We need to know what is going on behind the scenes! It could just be the fact McNally was going to sack Gunn after Saturday but didnt have someone in line. But now he has someone then its all ok to sack him... If this isnt the case, in my view, who would want to come and manage an UNSTABLE club.... unless our new manager is already in the club and yet again we go for another cheap option :(
