1. Hey all,Going to my first City game in ages on Monday and was wondering what the most common crowd chants were at the moment?Obviously there''s OTBC and all the various individualised chants for different players but wasn''t sure if there were other ones that were quite popular currently. Also, on a similar note, can someone please post the lyrics for the Norwich City version of ''Just Cant Get Enough''?Trying to prepare as best i can for Monday, ridiculously excited at the moment! :D
2. I reckon we should go for The Good Companion. It''s relatively close to the away end and i was told it''s usually the away pub anyway, which would mean that most local Canaries would probably head there too. I just don''t want to look crazy going nuts if there''s only a couple of us in there and Cardiff concede a goal...
3. I hear The Good Companion is usually the away pub? Isn''t too far from the ground i don''t think! That''s where we''re heading anyway :) Just hope there''s quite a few canaries about the place :D
4. Hello all,Just wondering if anyone who is going to the Pompey game is planning on watching the Cardiff vs Middlesbrough game in a pub in Portsmouth prior to our match? I know absolutely nothing about the geography of Portsmouth or Fratton Park myself, but is anyone from the Portsmouth area aware of anywhere we could go or where abouts the away pub is?
5. Just got home about an hour ago to find mine have arrived :D Can''t wait! OTBC!
6. Totally different games i reckon and both incredibly memorable for different reasons. 1p5wich will go down in history and be remembered for decades to come and Ipswich was better with regards to novelty value as it was over the scum, but when you look at the celebration for Jackson''s third goal, it''s got to be second to none. Think it just about sums up what the lads have done this season.Absolutely awesome stuff today, representative of our season so far and it just fills you with pride of being a Norwich fan. Still can''t totally believe it now, it''s beyond belief. ON THE BALL CITY!
7. I know this question has been debated on here countless times and perhaps even very recently and i''ve missed it but following his 49th,50th and 51st goals for Norwich City over the weekend and the signing of his new contract. How far is Holty from earning the ''legendary'' status? He''s already scored more than players like Huckerby (sobeit, who was not a striker) and Martin Peters. Surely if he ends his career with our fine football club, he will be classed as a legend, but i already have him up there as one of my all-time favourite Norwich players, not just for his goals, but for his captaining ability, professionalism and work ethic also. At what point will all of you class him as a legend? If we go up? If he stays until the end of his career/contract? If he continues to score and ends up there with our top scorers of all time? Just interested in seeing what people think so don''t shoot me down for a topic which comes up quite regularly :) OTBC!
8. Cheers Banana, i shall be checking daily. Fingers crossed i get them!
9. Hello all,can somebody please tell me how early before an away match that tickets are usually released on general sale? I live along the south coast and me and a few friends want to go to the Portsmouth Norwich match towards the end of the season as i haven''t been to a game in far too long. Although i appreciate that the longer we stay nearer the top, the more unlikely it will become to get tickets so i wanted to try snap them up asap after they get released. Cheers to anyone who can help me!OTBC!
10. You don''t have to buy it, but with Christmas coming up, it''s possible a few people might fancy buying it to give to Ipswich supporting friends or family and if the Club can make £12 from it or £12000, it''s still beneficial for the club, right? It all adds up and is the sort of thingy Mcnally has brought to the club, if we can get in tiny bits of money here and there, then there really isn''t anything to moan about. No one''s forcing you to buy it so quit your jibber-jabber fools!
11. Totally agree that Ruddy and Barnett were brilliant in particular.Think a 6 for Holty is a bit harsh, although i agree the booking was needless. But i think the amount of running and work he does for his team-mates more than makes up for the odd booking. The ref was a bit quick to book players today so as long as we keep winning, i don''t mind.
12. We''re approaching the halfway point in the season.Realistically, at the start of the season, did anyone expect us to be doing this well at this point? Are we exceeding your expectations or were you confident we''d be up there at this point in the season? What''s all your opinions on the season so far?Do you think we''ll still be here come the end of the season?Great win again today! OTBC!
13. I think Wes is just a victim of circumstance at the moment. We''ve changed formation and Lambo just feels like 4-4-2 is working for us at the moment (which it is!). It''s a good problem Lambo has where he''s got too many good players to try and fit into that midfield and Wes is very much a player in which your team needs to be built around. Whereas against opposition last year, we could afford to let him roam and do what he does best... This year we''re playing much better opposition where we have needed to change from the diamond to give our team more balance across the park. That isn''t Wes'' fault. As for all the speculation, nothing is pre-determined as of yet. I doubt Wes or Lambo know what they''re planning for next season yet, let alone any of us knowing. We''re doing well in the league and judging by Lambert''s attitude, i suggest he''s more than happy to see where we are nearer the end of the season and decide nearer the time and at the moment, to just address the matter at hand. If Wes is happy here, which he is widely believed to be, then where is the rush in sorting out his contract or whatever? Lambert isn''t stupid, he knows Wes is top quality player and no manager would want to lose him. We just need to stick with Lambert, while we''re winning, it doesn''t seem worth panicking over. I''m sure Lambert will sit down with Wes one of these days and try sort things out but at the moment, they''re probably both just getting on with their jobs as they both seem like model professionals. On another note, i thought Wes was brilliant when he came on, tracking back, making tackles, his first touch is second to none and he took his goal superbly. He looked like he wanted to earn his way back into the first 11 and i respect him immensely for the effort he put in. I''m sure he understands that as long as the team is doing well, it doesn''t matter all that much. If we were losing every game and leaving out Wes, that''s when i''ll start panicking.Great win yesterday, OTBC!
14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQPR43v64e4:D(Just thought a few people would get a kick out of this. Please don''t shout abuse at me for posting what you deem as a ''pointless'' thread.)
15. Just for a bit of fun, who''s everyone''s top 5 current NCFC players and why?Mine are probably:1. Wes - Inspirational on his day.2. Holty - For his overall contribution to the team, whether he''s fully fit or not. He cannot be replaced in my eyes.3. Surman - Technically Brilliant. So great to have a player of his calibre at the club. We''ll miss him while he''s out.4. K Smith - Makes us tick, young, energetic and fully committed to the cause.5. Tussling between Lappin and Crofts - Both for the 100% effort and commitment they put in every game. I think Lapps just about steals it but Crofty is quickly becoming one of my favourites.Curious to see what everyone else thinks.OTBC!
16. Although last season i thought he was one of our ''weak links'', i think that this was partially due to the fact that he joined the club late after not playing a lot of football and was playing catchup for the rest of the season. However, this season i think he''s generally been very solid.  Totally agree that our diamond formation puts our fullbacks heavily under the cosh when we''re defending but when we''re in total control of the game (like we have been for most games this season), he''s not done too much wrong (apart from the Watford game where our whole defense were woeful).I''m not sure why our fans need a fall guy to blame everything on but i think he''s just a victim of circumstance as our fullbacks are heavily exposed for parts of matches where we are defending and i doubt any of our fans are brave enough to fault Drury for anything (and rightly so). Doherty went through exactly the same thing, maybe in a few years, Martin will overcome the critics and fans will start to give credit where credit is due. While we''re playing well and winning games, i don''t see the point in criticising any of the team.
17. Sorry if it has already been touched upon but how come our game is an 8pm kick off when most other games tomorrow are 7.45pm kick offs?
18. So the season starts today. The beginning of the season being the only time when all the teams in the league are equal, all on the same number of points - 0.However, I believe that two of the N-Power Championship clubs are still in administration, Crystal Palace and Portsmouth. I may be missing something but should these two teams still be on 0 points? Neither seem to have suffered point deductions as of yet. Yes both teams got points deducted for entering administration but surely remaining in administration for another season is a separate offense. Especially for Portsmouth whose penalty was issued by the Premier League rather than the Football league. Can anyone shed any light on why neither team has been docked points?
19. Always admired Justin Fashanu, Iwan Roberts and Steen Nedergaard.
20.
here we go again!!! Why do we worship players coming back? If we get beat everybody will be up in arms!!! I remember a couple of years ago, first game of season at Coventry everybody went mad for McKenzie cheering him, he came on and scored and it all turned sour!!!!
So you''re suggesting we don''t give the guy any recognition at all? This is a Norwich legend, whom we never got to say a real goodbye to, returning to Carrow Road for the first time. He contributed immensely to our greatest season in modern history and yet you seem confused why our fans want to give him a cheer? I think he deserves a Huckerby-esque goodbye, which i know won''t happen what with him managing the opposition but still, the bloke still deserves an enourmous amount of respect and admiration from our fans on his return.
21. Has everyone forgotten about Chrissy''s impressive form at this level when he first broke onto the scene a few years back when he contributed immensely towards keeping us in the division? Yes, the division is probably stronger now, but he was featuring in a struggling team at a very young age. He definitely showed he''s got the attributes to do well at this level and i think he''s progressed ridiculously since then in both ability and personality. Given the right players around him, there''s no reason why he can''t score more goals. The lad''s got talent, i don''t see why some posters still label him as ''lazy'' after the season he''s just had, he works hard for the cause and he''s developed quite the partnership with Holty and Wes - way better than any attacking duo/trio we''ve had in recent history. Anyway, i don''t think he needs to cover the whole pitch like Holt does, i think him, Holt and Wes compliment each other tremendously.I suppose only time will tell but personally, i don''t think there will be much in it this season between an ''experienced'' striker at this level and Chrissy, taking into account how well him, Holty and Wes work together. I''ll probably end up being wrong which is why i always avoid making predictions but i definitely think Chrissy will hit double-figures with ease if he plays enough. He''s got good technique, get him into goal scoring positions and he''ll score, that doesn''t change whatever level he''s playing at - that''s why some players can go from non-league to higher leagues easily (e.g. That Swindon bloke). The only thing that will change this season will be the service into him and i trust Lambert to get that sorted [:)]
22. If Lambert was in the process of selling him, surely he wouldn''t have selected him to make an appearance at the Norfolk Show... Or am i silly in thinking this?
23. Next game at Carra, we need a lengthy rendition of this familiar tune:You can stick your vuvuzela up your arse,You can stick your vuvuzela up your arse,You can stick your vuvuzela, stick your vuvuzela, stick your vuvuzela up your arse,SIDEWAYS!:DI''m sure they''d ban them in a flash.
24. I live along the south coast and so had Saints fans raving about him for years saying nothing but good things about him. In addition to this, i also saw him play a couple of times against us when Norwich came down south a couple of years back and he (along with a certain Gareth Bale) clearly stuck out by being leagues above the other players on the pitch on the day. Even today on hearing the news, all my Saints-supporting friends have had nothing but good words to say about him and nothing but jealous, angry words directed at me. I don''t know how we''ve managed this one but i''m over the moon with it! I know we get this unhealthy optimism each year, but i''ve got a special feeling about this season, what with us having a decent manager ''n'' all. Bearing in mind this is a player Mick Mccarthy deemed of being worthy of the premiership this time last year. I''m confident this will turn out to be a brilliant signing and he is still young after all. OTBC!
25. Can never prepare too early [;)] Any ideas anyone?
