All hail "defensive" Hughton.
ref89 replied to lake district canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Some of the **** thrown at Hughton has been appalling. A squad that bounced divisions, with little cash, is getting prem football next year and has already signed one of Europes most exciting forwards. Some of you "fans" should hold your heads down in shame. -
Team news - Wilbraham starts
ref89 replied to gravycanaries's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Credit to Wilbrahamovic. He did very well indeed. -
Great performance from Ward, amongst many good ones in the best league in the world. That should shut those people without eyes in their head up.

What an idiotic post to make. We just beat Spurs with a top drawer performance and a top drawer second goal.Get a life.
........calm down a bit people. Yes we won away at Spurs and played well, but Blackburn won at Man Utd. Man Utd are a better team than Spurs (as the table shows) and Blackburn are below us in the table so comparatively it''s not something we should be getting too carried away with. Teams lower down do beat the top teams. All these we will beat Man City, Liverpool easy 3 points etc etc comments are silly. Pride comes before a fall. Yes we played well and won, but that doesn''t suddenly make us world beaters. If the players fall into the same trap that some of the fans have on here, then we''ll struggle against such teams. We''ve beaten Spurs, but next season will still be mighty tough and it will be a massive achievement if we stay up again! Like I say, Blackburn won at Man U but are still deep in relegation trouble, take heed![;)]
Perhaps rather than whining about needing a "big loan signing", rather than believing we are "punching above our weight", rather than saying "all our strikers are crap and can''t score", just maybe it''s time to wake the F*** up and realise we are where we should be with one of the best teams in the division.

The pink needs to be toned down a bit, its a bit bright on the eyes. Burning like fire...Also when accessing via a mobile browser it is not picking that up anymore and so the full site is loading with all that javascript in the menus we can''t use.... -
What about you? Tough luck. Move back to Norwich if you are that upset by it all and cannot possibly afford it.
What about us exiles who can only make the odd game? They''ve ranked up casual ticket prices, I as a student can''t afford almost £30 to watch a game of football. So by raising prices and removing under 21 tickets they''ve created empty seats and are just going to sell them as season tickets when that actually works out cheaper on a per game basis than just reducing casual prices slightly.
Forest match report www.dh6.co.uk
ref89 replied to hucks@dh6.co.uk's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I am obviously alone in thinking that if this was a match report by anyone else it would be shot down in flames.... -
Has the club now blanked Archant?
ref89 replied to First Wizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yeah Wiz, worry about something important like why a club struggling financially has to audacity to raise its prices. -
For anyone spouting the "working class" crap etc, lets pose a simple question to ALL fans. Pay more money or go into administration.Go on choose.
I would rather be us where we are now than Wigan with 10,000 rattling around ina 25,000 stadium in the Prem.
Wigans average attendance this season is over 16,000 so far this season.

The problem is that supporting NCFC has been under priced for a decade. Now we are in debt and still spending to try to achieve promotion two seasons running, the CLUB NEEDS MORE MONEY.It simply isn''t effing rocket science.

So don''t buy a programme and don''t get refreshments in the ground....

If it was the WWF or something, would you expect big concessions? A seat is a seat is a seat.

Another ludicrous thread. Its illegal, and obviously so. If you know the sites and want to visit, fine, but stop playing dumb - its no different to watching a stream of Inception - ie - illegal.

Stephen Fry is known globally. He is one of the most respected comedians in the UK etc etc, Delia is a legend in the media. Between them we have one of the best known boards in the country, which is no bad thing when mixed with the obvious accumen of McNally and Bowkett.Stop being such a prat. Fry is Norfolk born and bred and will help to raise the profile of the club.

Is the diamond too narrow for the Championship?
ref89 replied to First Wazzock's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
And for a person who reckons formations are simplistic, you then spend three posts telling the world how different formations work in detail. So perhaps your initial line that formations are simplistic was wrong then?
Talk of formations is too simplistic and it always has been - its the players that make them work. Chelsea did pretty good with a diamond last year, and they didn''t find it too narrow. Football tactics have always been, and always will be, about space - creating it, taking advantage of gaps, minimizing it when off the ball and maximising it when on. The diamond potentially exposes us on the flanks unless, as someone pointed out in a thread earlier in the week, you have hard working midfielders and good fullbacks. It also takes advantage of a potential 2 man advantage in the middle of the pitch, and so benefits there. It all comes down to the players. If we switch from the diamond, it wont be because the formation doesn''t work - formations really are just numbers. It''ll be because the players fit a better system that uses space better.
-

What a load of old nonsense. Of course formations matter. So you are saying good players make any formation work? How about England circa world cup 2010 then? chelsea do well with a diamond EVERY year, because it suites the team they have built to play that way."formations really are just numbers".Really? Read that back to yourself and tell yourself its not rubbish.
Talk of formations is too simplistic and it always has been - its the players that make them work. ....are we still a team that went down in disarray, got promoted in triumph and will do well to stay up and consolidate, or is it hatchet time for Lambert from the usual w***ers?

Stephen Fry (press conference 5.30pm)
ref89 replied to Big Slob's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
FFS, Fry comes in as a Norfolk boy and city fan, puts some money in, and just maybe through appearances and networking might do some good for us. But no, its a disaster, a mess, a disgrace. You bunch of ****. -
WARD WAS NOT MATCH FIT, BUT WAS MORE MATCH FIT THAN ASKOU OR WHITBREAD. Sorry to shout, but has it now sunk in.
I''d say it should be Ward who gets dropped instead of Nelson going on performances, we''re just hoping he improves as he has experience at this level
