You wont have any luck with Neil Doncasters email anymore...
.Other fans will have their own views but I would suggest this is a rare opportunity to discuss big issues, and there is none bigger than the future ownership of the club. The previous board, whatever its faults, got at least one thing right, and that was wanting any potential owner to promise long-term financial support.I would want an assurance that the new board is keeping firmly to that crucial criterion and will not be seduced by offers that are only attractive in the short-term and do not guarantee the club''s future. However, as LQ may be overloaded with other people''s suggestions and questions to put forward, as well as her own, I will make this point directly to the new board by email.
-

Just a pacey goalscorer/winger needed?

black is indeed the right term, and using the word "coloured" which smacks of the bad old days in America is definitely deemed a derogatory descriptive word in this day and age. Just because you "dont believe it", "cant see what wrong with it" or " did not know", does not make it any the less unacceptable in many areas, especially amongst the black communties. -

Full house, same season ticket numbers as last year so why should it be any less? -

And what are you basing you "quality defender" tag on, one show against the Man Utd kids?If he is so loody good how come nobody else was clamouring for him? He offers another option to Doc and NElson and gives us more options, but please do not slate a key player and then say a rand new signing is "quality" without any evidence - you just look silly.
OK, I''ll be fair, everyone says he''s slow but i believe last season he was one of the fastest players at the club, behind only semmy? He''s an average defender, clumsy at times, gets sent off about half as often as Darel Russell and gets turned fairly easy quite often. He can be solid and normally when I''m at a match I believe he''ll win the ball over their strikers. I also think he''s a good captain as he is vocal and lets other team members know what''s going on and encourages them. On the other hand, Askou is a quality defender who is good in the air and on the ground, gets forward and can score a goal or two as well. Maybe he would be better as a sub once Doc has been sent off :p
-
For christs sake - Doc is going to be a solid defender at this level. This constant abuse for a guy who had several partners at the ack last season, had a dody keeper behind him and got no protection from a shocking midfield is bordering on moronic.
I think the doc will be in there instead, as he''s captain, but I don''t think he warrants a starting position over Askou, unless we are aiming for a pen a match agin
Though others were also saying it was a done deal, if you follow twitter.

And that completes our business for the summer.

12 new signings, not a loan in sight, once Russell goes money in the bank for January, and I think it is only the stupid who will claim we dont have a squad capable of promotion. Now Gunn needs to deliver tactically. So far so good. -

The net will kill traditional media, especially with the growth of things like Twitter offering instant information. Can the media adapt? Probably not. -
Maric & Askou are Now CANARIES

Excellent news! -
Grant Holt is crap. Total waste of money. Rah rah rah.
-
I do so hope that "most clubs use this formation since mourhino stumbled across it at chelsea after injuries..?" is being silly? No most clubs do not use it, only those with quality, pacey full backs and an exceptional defensive midfielder!
-
So you would put an untried left back recovering from injury ahead of Lappin, and you would put an unfit and untried MacDonald ahead of Martin? Bloody glad you are not the manager!
Mine would be: GK - Theo DR - Spillane DL - Drury if Wiggins is not fit DC - Doc DC - Nelson MR - Whaley ML - Hoolahan DMC - OTJ CM - Gill ST - Holt ST - Mcdonald - Would change this to Maric if he signs Subs 1. Alnwick (gk) 2. Askou (DC) 3. Lappin (DL, ML) 4. Hughes (MC) 5. Semi (DR) 6. McSmall (MR, ML, ST) 7. Martin (ST) or Mcdonald if Maric has signed, With that bench every position is covered if we get any injuries etc, Would have Gill in instead of Hughes for now as he and OTJ seem to be getting better at playing together and I feel hughes needs to prove himself a little bit
Silly Sharp has been found out as a rubbish player and is not transfer listed. Good. Lets not buy the prat. How can Sheff Utd afford so many expensive strikers in the first place??
-
He was clearly not good enough!
