1. Nonsense.  Crofts is more effective breaking up and linking up play higher up the pitch.  Fox is not there to crunch people he is there to create from the back, which he will once the defence is MATCH FIT.
Swap Crofts and Fox around - bing. [I] [:)]
2. Surman is evidently a cultured player, who has more to offer than lappin.   Everyone played poorly, its a new team  in a higher league.Stop panicking and making sweeping judegements on the basis of one game.  Watford won''t play like that again this season.
 3. Docherty, even to the most stupid of our "fans" was evidently not good enough.Nelson is slow, we knew that, but he had to play because none of our other three central defenders is match fit, and Ward is the most match fit so had to play. Its one game FFS, get a grip, its going to be a long, tough season so get used to it.
 4. Ah, the selective, rose tinted spectacle brigade appears again.Do you remember Forsters first few games?  When he was nervous and made some errors? Evidently you do not. Also, Forster was GREAT against league one opposition.  How good will he be this season in the Championship?Give Ruddy time.  He is new, has been a reserve for a long time and is now in front of a lot of people with a lot of responsibility - so for gods sake get off his back.Once he settles in and the defence is settled and match fit, it will improve, same as it will across the whole team.So stop panicking and show some support you morons.
 5. 1. Raise the price of OAP tickets - the days of everyone living just off a state pension are long gone.2. Raise the season ticket prices generally. The club is 25 million in debt, and if you want to see it compete in the championship then you are all going to have to di a little deeper.Welcome to the real world, enjoy your stay.
 6. How on earth did you work that out?A bi kit manufacturer would charge more to produce the same shirt.  It would be of no better quality, and why would we sell a single item more because of who it is made by?  As for getting more control by getting a contract with a bi producer - what planet are you on?
Get a contract with a world leading kit supplier like Puma, Addidas or Nike. Will lead to smaller margins on shirts but better quality merchandise and then generate more volume, at a lower margin but greater controllable contribution.
7. Oh for crying out loud, cut the working class crap.Football is about money, same as anything else.  Golf is now played by "working class" people, but it costs cash for the gear, membership etc.  It is the same with any sport,  watching or playing.NCFC is 25 million in debt - it needs every penny it can get and the fans are its main income stream  What else can they do.If you are so hard up that you need to moan aout paying an extra 50p for a drink then I would suggest you have biger problems to worry about.
 8. Mid table would be a great end of season achievement for a club that was in shreds until Lambert came in.However, looking at the quality being shown by our midfield and strikers in terms of pace, passing and movement, I think we could be under-estimated.  Good.
 9. Anyone who saw us against Newcastle or Everton will know this thread is irrelevant.
 10. No.  At no stage of any game he ever played, friendly, or league, did Whaley look "good".  He looked crap from minute one and disappeared.Compare his debuts to Surmans, its a different universe.
Encouraging stuff! My only concern, and this isn''t really based on anything other than having not yet seen the boys in competitive action, is that when we do play a competitive match we won''t be given as much time and space in midefield to make things tick in such a good rhythm and that we might a) find it difficult to get the ball back, b) lose it quickly once we have it and c) find it hard to pick our way through teams. I have no doubt our midfield are good on the ball, just a bit concerned that we might struggle a bit more when we don''t have it. Last pre-season is a good example of the difference between friendly and competitive action, Whaley looked good when no-one was interested in putting tough tackles in - as soon as they were, he was shit. I doubt this will be a problem this year, but I''m so scarred by last season I still worry about these things anyway!! I cannot wait for Watford in 2 weeks time.
11. I just wanted to say that after watching some of the one touch approach play against the fat northern monkeys, between Surman, Martin, Hoolahan and others, things are looking good.Surman particularly looked very gifted, strong, balanced, able to run, and good vision.  If we can pass and move like that in the league, then we will be ok.I know its only a friendly, but the shape and personnel are now in place, and with a limited budget I think Lambert has built a quality midfield.  Fox is at the bottom of the diamond for his distribution rather than his tackling, and away from home in a dogfight, Crofts could play there as well and battle.  Add to that the obvious creativity of Surman and Wes and its a shining diamond. The  attack of Martin, who is obviously a year older and more confident, and Holt, with the pace and evident confidence of Jackson (a bit of an Earnshaw for me) in reserve and I think a top half finish and maybe a crack at the play offs is very possible. On a separate note, surprised nobody has mentioned the guy who ran the length of the pitch.  Rather funny, as nobody bothered to stop him, and when he got to the river end, he did not know what to do and was escorted out y a single steward.  Who was that utter tw*t?
 12. You answered your own inane question...."we have 4 Decent Centre Backs"
Just a thought... Who here thinks OTJ could peform at centre back... now I know we have 4 Decent Centre Backs in Whitbread, Ward, Nelson and Askou but if we had a slight injury problem later on who here thinks he could do a job in this position?
13. Holt and Martin every time.  Jackson will be thrown on for some pace only during the first half of the season.
 14. Taking off the yellow specs, scraping into the play offs is more realistic.  Avoiding a relegation battle with an untried squad is the real thing to worry about.
 15. Nelson is to slow, Askou did not even go to Germany - so its blindingly obvious that bar an arrival, its Ward and Whitbread.
 16. Never going to make it, that was obvious within a few games.  Stop being so blindly sentimental.
It seems to be all over for Cody. I keep seeing websites suggesting he will be off. Shame, I thought he was one for the future.
17. You are comparing Code MacDonald to Ryan Giggs, Ronaldo and Robben.Think about it.

Cody''s main asset is pace, which at 24, will not last for ever and let''s be honest may have even started to wane with the rigours of professional football. Most pacey strikers of his ilk have their most productive years in their early late teens/early 20''s and, given that he is this ''raw'' talent, his best years could potentially already be behind him in terms of making it at this level.
There''s many a time I read posts here at the Pink ''Un and have to rub my eyes and look again to see if what is written is actually real [:P]The first example that springs to mind is Ryan Giggs who was tear-arseing down the left-wing winning League titles & European Cups well into his thirties, and here''s you stating footballers lose pace after the ripe old age of 24!Would you also say the likes of Arjen Robben (26) and Ronaldo (25) are losing pace with their careers are as good as over?Tw@t.
18. Ratings and conclusions based on a friendly run out to swell the Dereham coffers.  Utterly nuts. You people are the same people screaming "get it forward" whenever we do what the good teams do - keep possession.
 19. Yawn, another dereham thread.  Why do people read anything into friendlies?  All you get out of watching friendlies is how fit a player looks, how much pace he has and how well the team seem to be getting on communication wise.  performances, personnel and formations mean nothing.
 20. Why ask stupid questions like this?  It is obvious to anyone with a brain and eyes that he has said he is still in the market for players, especially a striker and that he realises there is a hole at right back.Once OTJ and Gill go, we will have more money of the wage bill.  A striker and a right back or obviously essential, so stop panicking.
 21. Very sad news.  I knew his sister and had met him a few times.  A genuine Norfolk character.
 22. Holt  has the muscle, Martin the finishing finsesse, Oli has the dribbling and "unknown" quantity. All we lack is PACE. So one more striker who can turn and GO.
 23.
Obviously this policy failed miserably but you`re not saying that loans are more expensive than signing permanent players are you?!
Erm, earth to Mr Carrow, yes they were.  Just take a look at Sibierski''s loan fee and weekly wage for a start.
