1.
At times our defence has certainly looked porous, and at times, like Old Trafford, we have virtually given up. Even so, our goals against is better than the two teams below and not much worse than the two above. We are in a mess not just because we have suffered big defeats too often, but more because we have scored so few goals. If we had scored as many as Fulham, i.e. 10 more, our goal difference would be -22, not good but not too different that of Sunderland. For the record: Cardiff F 31, A 72 GD -41 Fulham F 38 A 83 GD -45 Norwich F 28 A 60 GD -32 Sunderland F 38 A 57 GC - 29 WBA F 42 A 55 GD - 13 We have a leaky defence, but our main deficiency is an attack which has scored 10 fewer than all other bottom clubs except Cardiff, and we have scored 3 fewer than they have. I suspect that if we are to make progress in the Championship we shall need to do something about the defence, as well as the attack. Even at that level we could be in trouble.
Sunderland - 19
 2.

Finally Neil got it absolutely right today, well done neil, well done the players. Our job today was still to remain in the league. Good job today, we didn''t lose, now its up to Sunderland
No striker on the pitch for a must win game , imo that was criminal , may as well of gone down trying our best to stay up but we decided to play for a point that all but mathematically sends us down .
I wholeheartedly agree with Mrs Miggins.
 3. ........ and NO again OP. We would have lost 6-0 at home to Liverpool and probably 7-0 away at Old Trafford.
 4.

Despite the whining, it took virtually the whole season to get there. [;)]
So just to stop the pant wetting...how many points are we off 10th?[;)]
Loads, but we''re not relegated yet. Been to many games recently? Where do you think our problem areas are?
Been to a few as I always do (don''t beleive all you hear!) Too many to detail. The biggest is the mindset 2 seasons of negativity have produced. Strikers played that do not fit their natural role. A midfield lacking in craft. A defence that has a glass jaw marshalled by someone better suited to caribean lifestyle. Should have changed manager after last season, unfortunately 2 freak results papered over the cracks. Still I live in hope that we might get 2 freak results this season and survive, though after this weekend looks highly unlikely. * Give my best to your two lads *
Good summary fron the Butler. Fully agree.
 5. With regard to the "disallowed goal", the ref blew the whistle before the ball had reached the goalkeeper. However, the foul for which the ref blew was more of a coming together than a definite nudge by our player. I thought we played pretty well in the first half and had we gone in at HT at 0-0 the 2nd half would probably have been very different. The penalty was soft and probably wouldn''t have been given if it had been at the other end, but the ball should have been cleared before the incident. The 2nd Utd goal was unforgivable. Within minutes of the restart, a time when we should have been totally alert to the fact that Utd were going to come out of the blocks fast, a world class player such as Rooney was not closed down, allowed to shoot and of course scored. After that we enabled Utd to look much better than they really. Elmander coming on made a difference and should have made the score 4-1 from his own opportunism. 4-0 was a fair result for me and we would probably have lost 7-0 if Hughton had been in charge.
 6.
lake district canary wrote the following post at 2014-04-25 4:51 AM: Two pleasant and respected people in the football world both who dared to dream by taking on the managership of NCFC. Both ultimately failed, but both have been on the sharp end of some hatred, vitriol and abuse on here. It makes this board an incredibly unpleasant place to be when that happens. No one deserves what they had thrown at them. I take the abuse on here because I can answer back, but these people who try and take our club forward can''t answer back, except on the pitch by getting results. I started on this board because of the abuse Gunn got. I am still on this board doing the same thing because of the abuse Hughton got. It seems things don''t change much on a football message board - thankfully I don''t have to put up with the abuse, I can answer back or I can walk away. I hope future managers get a better deal from our more unpleasant fans, but somehow I doubt it. YAWN - here we go again. Do you really understand the concept of football and managing a football club. There are 96 football league clubs. ALL those clubs, whatever league, have a band of fanatical supporters, who along with their relevant owners and board, expect THEIR club to win matches, competitions, promotion. When that doesn''t happen, and results ARE NOT WHAT WERE EXPECTED, something gives. The manager of ANY business, industry, banking, retail etc etc, if they do not deliver, they are culpable. They get sacked. They carry the can, full stop. GUNN failed to deliver, Hughton failed to deliver, Roeder failed to deliver, as did Rioch, Hamilton, Walker, Worhington and a few more. Moyse failed to deliver, as have hundreds of other managers over the years at many many clubs. When that happens, supporters get restless, owners get restless, supporters get restless, and vitriolic. They pay their money, so why shouldn''t they. The way you carry on with your pathetic ramblings that Gunn, Hughton and whoever were hard done by is pathetic. Grow some, and FFS stop whinging. The sat s just that, look forward. Did you see any planes flying over Cartow road towing banners? No, nor did I.
Hey City 2nd, life must be very simple living in your one dim world.
 7. IMO Johnson should be one of the first names written on this team sheet. Ruddy Whittaker Martin Turner Olsson Tettey Johnson Snodgrass Fer Redmond Hooper
 8.
"Was hanging out with josh murphy, so would make sense" Could you expand on this a little?
Both Under 21''s ? Both a little bit in awe of travelling to Man Utd with the senior players ? But what are you driving at ?
 9. I''m with LDC and Salopian on this subject. Couldn''t agree more.
 10. We''re going to do it because this morning I threw a screwed up piece of paper across the office but before I did so I said that if it lands straight into the waste bin Norwich will win on Saturday and ........... miraculously it did. A very rare event.
 11. Q1: What do you make of how Moyes had done at Manchester United this season and do you feel that it was right for Manchester United to sack him when they did? There was no way that he was going to equal or better the previous season with the squad he inherited so I am not overly surprised at the current league position occupied by Man Utd. After 25 years of Ferguson and unprecedented success, it was always going to be a season or two of transition before any new manager was going to be able to bring in his own players and stamp his own ideas onto the team. It sounds as though there was resentment towards Moyes from key players and stunts like the Moyes Out banner flying over the stadium just poured petrol onto the flames of discontent. It does seem like your Board/Owners gave into fan power which surprises me and many others I suspect. Q2: Considering the current situation, and in the background of our abysmal home record this season, do you fancy your chances against us or you think sacking the manager and having a player - manager for the interim period will rejuvenate us? We have an atrocious away record and beating Man Utd at OT with or without Moyes was always going to be unlikely. I really am unsure about a gang of three players, with Giggs nominated as interim manager, without any managerial experience being put in charge for the remaining games. It seems pretty amateurish to me. However, the change will probably focus players’ minds if only for the next game so I am less optimistic about a surprise result than I was last week. Q3: Do you agree with the dismissal of Hughton? If so, at what point in the season did you want him to leave? Yes. 4.50pm 1st 2014. By then I had seen enough. Q4: Has Ricky van Wolfswinkel been as bad as his stats may suggest or has he just been used in a way that he may not be used to? Clearly has quality, stamina and potential but his confidence is shot because of the atmosphere of negativity cascading down from Hughton, Trollope and Calderwood. Plus, being out injured for such a long time in the first half of the season has delayed his “induction” into the toughest league in the world. Good prospect for the future. Q5: What do you make of how Redmond has done this season and do you think he''ll "come good"? Possesses the ability to run at players and get past them but doesn’t do it often enough. The same can be said of his shooting – powerful shot, but doesn’t try it often enough. His crosses are poor. All of these will now improve and actually ex-winger Adams could well be the catalyst. Q6: Who would you like to see be the next permanent Norwich manager? Adams Q7: Do you think you’ll avoid relegation? No Q8: Who do you think has been your best and worst player this season? Best : Snodgrass Worst : IMO none of our players deserve this label. Q9: Who do you think has been your best and worst signings this season? Best : Redmond Worst : Elmander Q10: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future? Josh and Jacob Murphy, Morris, McGeehan, Toffolo Q11: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us? Ruddy, Martin, Turner, Yobo, Olsson, Tettey, Johnson, Fer, Snodgrass, Redmond, Hooper in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Snodgrass on the left and Redmond on the right. Q12: Finally, your predictions for the match? Man Utd win.
 12. One factor which for me set the the Liverpool match on Easter Sunday apart from all others this season was the relief that having gone down 2- 0 within the first 15 minutes we did not end up being hammered 5,6,7 or even 8-0 which would have most probably been the case had Hughton been in charge. As the match unfolded, my first emotion was one of relief that it was becoming clearer and clearer that this was not going to be the latest in a series of hideous, hughmiliating “Hughton” hidings. This then evolved into a feeling of real hope that we could turn the game around, against Liverpool of all teams, then finally a sense of combined joy and huge relief that our boys had shown grit, commitment, determination, hunger and desire and so restored pride back in themselves and their supporters. The point being that all of that highly charged emotion was absent during Hughton’s tenure and thus sets this game poles part from any other this season.
 13. I''m wiling to bet that our Chris didn''t bully any of our players.
 14.
Ah- "Carousel" a musical that tries to justify wife beating.
Oh, FF''S
 15.
Hughton will go to a club, be successful with free flowing football and bags of goals as he was at Newcastle and Birmingham, the fans will love him and they will look at Norwich and say how unreal our expectations were when we had him here and how badly we treated him.........oh, they''re doing that already......
Oh dear. How unreal is your take on Hughton''s tenure as our manager. I watched game after game after game of absolute depressing rubbish under "hopeful" Hughton. He set the team up to defend and hoped that we would not concede goals and hoped that we might pinch a winner. When time after time that simplistic strategy failed, Hughton had no clue what else to do. I wish him well but as for free flowing football and bags of goals under Hughton in case you have a short or selective memory that came from the teams we played against when we were managed by good ole hopeful until the situation became hopeless and he had to go..... but should have gone much earlier.
 16.
Fer only performs when he fancies it. Happy to see him go for £7m. Not consistent enough and doesn''t battle with all he''s got. He''s like one of the players in the Worthington era who knows he''s leaving in the summer if we''re down, so nothing really matters. Get rid of him.
Respect your opinion but we sorely missed him when he was out. In my opinion, we would have at least 3/4 more points on the board had he not missed some critically important games.
 17.
Au contraire, he was useless at Fulham, as he has been all season. Real fans pay good money to follow the team and deserve more. They have every right to voice their disatisfaction. Their actions should be applauded.
On what basis do you say he was useless ? I''m not being aggressive just interested to hear your justification of this assertion. I didn''t go to the match but my impression from reading the opinions of (sensible) fans who did attend and Adams'' comments after the match was that RvW worked extremely hard and was desperately unlucky not to have scored.
 18. If true, I can fully understand his reaction and, although in an ideal world he shouldn''t have done it, I wouldn''t criticise him at all.
 19.
I know we all want Norwich to win on Saturday for the three points, but more than that, the win would stitch two fingers up at the Parkers, Linnekers and Savages of this world, who would clearly prefer Norwich to be ''unfortunately'' relegated under the nice Mr. Hughton, rather than try a better method under a more progressive coach. Quite why McNally and the board are being so heavily slated by the national media, when they were giving Hughton as long as possible to get things right, beats me. They actually held their nerve for far longer than the boards fro the six surrounding clubs, yet this escapes mention. Hughton and his sidekicks were given more than enough rope, the decision to get rid has nothing whatsoever to do with Mcnally''s ego. Even if Adam doesn''t eventually prove these plonkers wrong, these hacks have proved themselves unfit to work in the media.
Good post, probably because I agree with all of it !
 20.

Mm, not sure about this statement : “In terms of changing the line-up it is up to the players to force their way in" - Adams on squad players It would be a fair point to make if the existing line-up had a successful track record.
Maybe he meant all players have the chance to force themselves (via training) into his plans and onto the teamsheet. Doesn''t specify if he means forcing into Hughton''s last team, or into his own initial teamsheet.
I suppose I took existing line-up to mean existing line-up ! I agree he probably meant the complete opposite, something like "clean teamsheet, it''s up to the players to get their names on it" On a different note, the problem with the name Adams is that it is too easy for posters to spell.

 22.

Not too disappointed with this, normally a very good ref.
You weren''t at the Palace match on New Year''s day then ?!
He didn''t say a good ref every single game...
You are correct, he didn''t. However, had First Wazzock been at the game on NY''sD he may well be feeling more disappointed than he is.

 24. Good, enjoyable read and pretty much on the pulse. Thanks.
 25. No, Waveney is just another passionate Norwich supporter whose opinions you (and often I) don''t happen to agree with.
