1. "Roy, Not sure what''s going on here but I think you''ve highjacked my thread. If so can you give it back, please" well said just a thought. It took some working out what Roy was trying to say, but in the end it all just appeared to be b****cks. Yours was the best post I have read on here. Please keep it up
2. My first match of the season, because for me July and August are not for football. For me those are the months of cricket, village fetes and long days pottering about in my small boat in the Norwegian fjords. Village fetes and Norwegian fjords. I always wondered what a "fjord fiesta" looked like. Cracking read by the way.
3.

Why can we not have a meat and potato pie on the menu, every match rather than the special match day pies. Jesus they come up with some strange combinations for those. And as for the tea, i like my tea strong but the stuff they serve is just stupid.
Stupid tea, eh.[:O] That''s a new ''un! OTBC
Stupid tea or just stupidity
4. Kids for a quid has got to be the way of bringing in the next generation. Get them in there and they might start to enjoy and support their local team. They are certainly not "Glory Hunters" as has been suggested. When was the last time we had any "Glory" at Carrow Road. If they come enough they will adopt the behaviour around them, esp if they realise they look like plonkers. Thats just how society works. You conform to the norm
5. Have a look at my posts on "Whhy Im for the Johnstones Paint Trophy". I think thet cover your question
6. That was part of what I was trying to say Claud, I guess I still remember the emotion of winning something. We lasyt won something recognisable when we played at a far higher standard. We have to accept that at present we do not plat at that leval, and probably will not for some time to come. Last Monday showed us the gulf in abilit. This competition is our best chance, alongside promotion to start to achieve again as a club, to have a day to remember. We may not make it, but at this stagre lets not disrespect it. After all , we won nothing last season or the season before, apart from the odd game to give us the hope of escaping relagation. I for one would love to go to Wembly to support my team, whatever the name on the trophy. At the level we currently play at this would be a good achievement, which could provide the impetus to start returning us to the leveal we think we should be playing at.
7. Thanks for this Graham. For once I missed the game and could not be near a radio for the comentry. Its good to get some feedback.
8. I went to Wembley in 85 to watch us win the Milk Cup. Even then the Big Boys were not really interested in that competition. It didn''t matter. It was one of the best experiences of my life and one of the best experiences and achievements of my club. Johnsons Paint, Dulux Emulsion, it matters not. Bringit on. I will be there
9. Just worked out the quote button is as much use as a chocolate teapot
10.
I was walking my dogs in the churchyard earlier when I noticed a man crouching behind one of the gravestones. I said "morning" and he replied "no, I''m having a dump" Oldies but goodies.....
In the best spirit of Tommy Cooper I thank you, its the way I tell em
11. For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, ''If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.'' In response to Bill ''s comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash.........Twice a day. 2.Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3.Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this. 4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads. 6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single ''This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation'' warning light. 7. The airbag system would ask ''Are you sure?'' before deploying. 8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9.. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10. You''d have to press the ''Start'' button to turn the engine off. PS - I''d like to add that when all else fails, you could call ''customer service'' in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself!!!! --
12. Hello North-East-Canarie I like you am new to this too, despite being able to remember standing on a milk crate in the River End Terrace. I have read rather than posted since joining as many threads seem pointless or sometimes offensive. It is refreshing to see a positive one. well done mate. Long may it continue. Not a disgrace yesterday, more of a audition.
13. The 8 points was not for his football prowess. It was his "Strictly Come Dancing" Score for the deft footwork and his close holding of his oppenents. I would have given him 9.8 on that basis. 0.1 for footballing skills.
