1.
I''m sure that i''m gonna get a lot of flack for this post but i think i''m really missing something with McNamee? He can cross a good ball, but he doesn''t like to take on a defender like a ''winger'' should do. He doesnt like to track back and defend. He won''t go looking for the ball. He often just sits on the wing and waits for the ball to come to him. This often means that opposing team will have a spare defender which prevents us making an attack. IMO McNamee is a good ''plan B'' player but certainly no replacement for Wes Hoolahan
What''s the point of going out wide and skinning a man (presumably to get into the corner to cross) when he''s a left winger playing on the right? he need''s to cut inside so he can cross or shoot on his favoured foot. He needs to be played on the left if he''s going to be truly effective at doing what a winger is supposed to do, which is take defenders on go past them and whip crosses in.Also whilst the opposition may have an extra defender because he doesn''t do any marking, does it not also mean that we have an extra attacker in space ready to recieve the ball when play is broken up by a central midfielder or defender?
 2. I think it''s natural, we are so close it''s within touching distance and so both players and fans are likely to be a little nervous, today would have been a walkover if we hadn''t slipped up at Tranmere a couple of dodgy results has made things everso slightly less certain than they were before the swindon game a couple of weeks back. However three wins guarantee''s us promotion and we have three very winnable games to come particularly as there is a bit of a score to settle against the addicks. Having been at the Valley last season it will be all the sweeter to confirm our promotion there, looking forward to a proper party atmosphere in the away end that day. Today''s victory whilst not exactly convincing is still another three points in the bag, it goes some way to eradicating the memory of Tranmere and by all accounts should have been a couple more. Get another win on Saturday and i think we''ll win all of our remaining fixtures, our momentum from that point will make us unstoppable.
 3.
Stay clear of Pats Cafe....gone seriously downhill.....like someone else said...bond Street cafe or the one on unthank....the one on unthank is actually the best in the city IMO.
Hahahaha, I spent far too much time in pats cafe during year eleven and sixth form, food was shite but the old skool arcade games in the back room were the best in the city, twin cobra was epic!!
 4. Karsa telling that cnut to fcuk off was epic, I have noe real clue who the bloke is but from now on he is and absolute legend! Seriously though that was the most bizarre half of football I have ever seen and the officials need to be held accountable for this I know we''re still top etc. But that doesn''t excuse the excerable satndard of refereeing last night (and indeed if you saw the manure V chelski scum game).
 5.

No worries Romantic, just checked out their myspace, actually not bad at all and i like the name, it''s been a while since i''ve heard any decent music coming out of Norwich (but then I no longer live there so why would I?), not since Bear Suit and Splendid Lieutenant in fact.
Yeah, I produced and mixed the Gary Doc single, and do all their other recordings too. They''re a good little band with loads of potential, most importantly really nice people who work hard. I think they''re going places, but with the industry as it is at the moment, "going places" doesn''t necessarily mean fame & fortune... Shame you''re not hear at the moment King, there''s a good little scene. Brownies are a great band (four star album review in the observer I think?), Pistolas became Uh-Ohs (who have now split up but were good), Bearsuit are still going strong, Violet Violet are loved by Artrocker magazine (whether that''s a good thing or not), Kabeedies were all over the radio at one point, if you like extremely high energy, 2 minute pop songs! There''s some kind of NME - Norwich Musical Express - tour going on at the moment, down at the 100 Club on Oxford Street. I think it''s monthly, and all the Norwich bands are going down there to try and get some exposure. We Can''t Dance are down there end of April I think.
Nice one i''ll have to check some of those out, I remember a couple of years back Steve Lamaq saying he thought Norwich had the best underground music scene outside of London, good to see things haven''t changed too much!
 6.
1-1 - I expect Tranmere to proide stout resistence.
a pessimist is never disappointed
 7. Anyone remeber the Pistolas??? they were a very decent garage punk band, saw them several times at the Ferry Boat and the Marquee, thought they were destined for big things but never heard from them again after i left Norwich.
 8.
I think presence is a big factor in being a good keeper - it comes from a variety of different areas that are not easity quantifiable. Forster has presence, Rudd doesn''t really yet (although thats not to say he won''t), which gives him that extra advantage that you can''t really train into a player. Schmichael had it, Cech had it before his injury - he''s lost it now and isn''t the same keeper...
I disagree, I think from what i''ve seen of him Rudd has a lot of presence, his confidence when he came on against Gillingham was amazing,  it''s just that ''keeper is such an important position that Lambert is unwilling to risk a relatively unproven teenager there.
 9.
Point taken, it''s just the experience. I wouldn''t want to sell Rudd either, but we have to have a GK who''s experience is vast enough to be in goal for us next season, don''t you agree?
I agree 100% that Fraser should be the No. 1 next season, the reality is that Newcastle won''t want to sell him and we couldn''t afford him, however they have two very good keepers at the club anyway so it''s likely he''ll go out on loan again and as we''re likely to be in the championship it''s a pretty good bet to say that he''ll be back here on loan next season as well. I reckon to prise him away from Newcastle we''d be looking at about 1.5 to 3 million which we could never afford anyway.
 10.
Anyone watching the game later or know any pubs showing the match (ideally with the sound turned up!!!)
No Idea but if you fancy taking a trip into central london the offside bar on city road between old street and angel is where the capital canaries are congregating to watch the game. see the link below: http://www.capitalcanaries.com/index.php?page=social-news

 12.
I think Forster is TOP CLASS! But Declan is a great prospect too. This is a difficult decision and depends on what Newcastle ask for Forster and what the odds are that Declan could become a first team GK without having the experience of regular fiirst team football. We are just about going back to the Championship. Forster is definitely good enough for that. Declan is a good young GK and I would not want us to make the wrong decision like we did with Lewis. If we can only get Forster on a season long loan again, Keep DECLAN! In case we can sign Forster...then I would consider this and possibly sell Declan... But only in this last case!
But why would ever consider selling Rudd when he''s potentially as good or better than Fraser, 3 years younger and an academy product therefore free(ish)! Fraser''s great but i wouldn''t sell Rudd in order to buy him, that makes no sense, footballing or economic.
 13.
Mook?
I don''t know who or what Mook is, please elaborate.
 14. Me too, and it''s ever so slightly more creative than the king of spain chant... damn those talented children!!!!
 15. Anyone seen this yet???? am ever so slightly wary considering the date of publication of the article...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/norfolk/hi/people_and_places/music/newsid_8598000/8598635.stm
 16.
I''d have to agree with Smudge. I think Forster''s kicking will always hinder him throughout his career. I guess that is the downside of having such a massive frame that he wont always be comfortable with the ball at his feet. There is no doubt though his performances have been top drawer.  However Rudd''s kicking against Orient and Rovers was very assured and he doesnt half belt it. Thought he made a top save low to the corner and apparently made some good saves Gillingham too. Don''t forget Rudd only lost his place because he got called up for England. It got easily have been him started the lion share of games this season.
He was genuinely superb at Giillingham, however Forster hasn''t put a foot wrong since Leeds so it''s difficult to really say whether Rudd should play instead of him. Would it be better to buy/loan another tried and tested keeper to sit on the bench behind Forster and Loan out Rudd to a league 1 club next season? then bring Declan back when Newcastle come a calling for Fraser.
 17.

Agreed but a certain Dimitar Berbatov who has hardly been setting the world alight at Manchester United. My perception, although this may well not be backed up by the stats is that he performed much better at Spurs than he has at Manure. Also I wouldn''t say that Chris Martin is a player of Berbatov''s ilk anyway, he''s much more compact and physical than that. If I were to compare him with anyone I''d say he''s more a Robbie Keane or Wayne Rooney type player, maybe mixture of the two, that would be an interesting hybrid!!! My main point wasn''t about workrate per se, rather that Chris Martin needs to be able to focus his talent and his workrate better than he does at the moment, if he wants to make it in the premiership. I am however still a huge fan of his, his contribution this season has been immense and i can only see him growing in stature under Lambert''s direction.
The Berbatov comment was slightly tongue in cheek, and, as I said, I pretty much agree with all you''ve said. He''s not the finished product yet but he could be a City great if he continues to develop, but I just wish people would keep off his back.
Fair enough, must of missed the irony in my rush to get to work. Chrissy can do very little wrong in my book, he''s a local lad who came through the youth team and genuinely looks like he could be the next big thing at this club, an all too rare occurnece in recent years. Hope I came across as constructive rather than just another troll!!! On the subject of moaners, was at Swindon away and some idiots near me started having a go at Chris when he got elbowed in the face by Gordon Greer (should have been sent off for thet one), shows how myopic some people can be doesn''t it? And finally with reference to the OP i think he could do it by the time he''s 24 if he stays at the club, the kid''s well on his way to being a club legend.

 19.

IMHO his loan spell at Luton came at a fantastic time for us. He was getting a bit "billy big ballcocks" after the premiership season, and a spell at Luton was just what he needed - ie "if you carry on as you are son, this is where you''ll end up". Good bit of man management at the time. And its paid off handsomely for us this season.
So maybe we have Roeder to thank for something! ; )I think he could make it in the prem as long as he has the psychological toughness to be able to harness his ability and play at the top of his game week in week out, at the moment (and please don''t label me as a moaner i''m just being realistic, not trying to denegrate his contribution this season in any way) he can go missing for periods during a game and doesn''t always appear to be putting in one hundred per cent, this is fine for League one and possibly the championship but if he aspires to play at the top level of the game (and what player doesn''t?) then he will need to develop a more commited or should i say focussed mentality then he has now. I''m not suggesting he''s lazy or doesn''t care, just that he needs to find the drive not only to give 100% almost 100% of the time but also to be able to focus that ability into getting into the right areas playing the right passes etc. He''s a natural finisher this is without doubt, but what seperates those with talent from those who make it at the top level is the ability to use that talent efficiently, if he can find the right manager to help him do that (and Lambert seems like he could well be the guy), then I truly believe he can make it in the prem. Could forsee a situation where Martin becomes one of those players that Lambert takes with him from club to club ala Stilian Petrov and Martin O''Neill. Personally i think he will become a more potent force than Grant Holt next season as he gains experience and learns how best to harness his talent''s. He is undoubtedly a more talented player then Holt (i still f*cking love him though!!) and as he grows older I think he will become a far better player. I believe the lessons Chrissy has learnt this season will enable him to surpass Holt next season in the Championship as his greater skill and better finishing become more valuable, when the number of chances available decreases as we come up against better defences.
While I agree with most of what you say, could I point you in the direction of a certain Dimitar Berbetov in relation to the highlighted sentence? Even in the Prem flair and skill can still be as valuable (if not more so) than workrate.
Agreed but a certain Dimitar Berbatov who has hardly been setting the world alight at Manchester United. 21. The new manager is a Norwich fan so there is absolutely no question the sound will be on!!!!
 22.
I think some norwich ''fans'' feel there is a score to settle with the charlton lot after their ''little'' show in the home game earlier in the season.
Definitely, will be banter and chanting "that''s why you''re staying down" rather than anything violent though, hope the atmosphere is as good as it was last season (up until the second goal went in that is), the Jimmy Seed stand is a great old fashioned football stand for atmosphere.
 23.
Doesn''t matter how far out/in it is out of London. To get to Charlton and Gillingham you have to leave from London Bridge, so most probably there will be Leeds and Norwich drinking at LB
For Gillingham the only direct trains are from Victoria, so unlikely.
 24.

The result of the next General Election isn''t important.  In simple terms, we''re up shit creek whover wins. As for the proposal about football club ownership, this is just more kite flying in a feeble attempt to distract from the real issues.  2 weeks ago it was dog owners having to have insurance, last week it was cider drinkers and next week it''ll be something else that''s completely unimportant in the general scheme of things. Just how do they think that they are going to force owners to hand over what is legally theirs anyway?  The only way that this could be forced on football clubs is through UEFA, and Platini has plans of his own which would go a long way to solving the problem.  Who reads the Guardian anyway?  Rant over.
Dylan, what a load of b*llocks! [:)] Are you saying the government shouldn''t deal with any issues in the UK below a certain arbitary level of importance? If government didn''t have to concern itself with the minutiae of running the country it would be a fraction of the size it is (cue a rush of Thatcher fan-boys...). Are you happy with the ease that people can get hold of dangerous dogs without being able to control them properly? Do you think selling ridiculously strong cider at discounted prices to teens is fine? The government has to react to things as they happen. Harold Macmillan said the real problem for government was "Events, dear boy, events." Unless you think the government should stop passing legislation for say six months before an election? Actually, we could extend that to five years - that might solve a few problems. And I read the Guardian too. Please don''t tell me you read the Mail or the Express? [;)]
The Government is dammned if they do dammned if they don''t act in situations such as you describe, if they do act then the right wing rags will castigate them for destroying the civil liberties which they claim to care about so much and if they don''t then they''ll be accused of being bleeding heart liberals unable to enforce law and order. It''s the typical hypocrisy of the right when criticising the left. What is more worrying are laws such as those contained in the Serious Organised Crime act etc which give the police alarming powers to act in ways which prevent protest and freedom of speech, but does anyone truly believe that given the events of the past 10 years the Tories would have acted in a more moderate sensible manner??? Of course not, you are delusional in the extreme if you think they would''ve. I''m not for a second suggesting that this government has acted in the appropriate manner in passing these and many other laws, it''s just that i can only see that things would have been 100 times worse with the tories at the helm. At least Labour has a vocal back bench which at least purports to stand up for the traditional egalitarian values of the party and attmepts to keep the excesses of the Blairite/Brownite wings of the party in check to a certain extent. Another liberal Guardian reader here; ready to sell this country to those horrible illegal muslimist terrorist peadophiles, they want our jobs, our benefits, our women, our children and our free health care, disgusting isn''t it??? Surely nobody below the age of 70 reads the Express???
