  1. To be fair he could well be following the path of the ball. But it does sound like something that could be part of ''dressing room banter''. However this is The Sun we''re talking about, not one to report the news, they report gossip.
  2. I think he missed the point, unless that was badly directed sarcasm.
  3. I agree with that, but a bit more cover would be nice: I''d say- Goalkeeper- Ruddy, Rudd & Steer- Good competitive cover for positions, Ruddy can definitely make the step up and will benefit from having more to do, when is a bit of a lonesome figure with less to do he looses concentration and can drop a clanger, fortunately not many have cost us. No new players needed- none sold. Defence- Martin, Drury, S. Smith, Whitbread, Ward, Barnett, Tierney, Askou. Decent centre half cover with Whitbread, Ward & Barnett all very capable. One more youngster would be nice to potentially cover right back and centre half, as we clearly need cover for Martin, Tierney definitely able to make the step up, very fit and good eye for a pass also very good as a defender. S.Smith & Askou to be sold- Right back/Centre Back cover needed. Midfield- OTJ, McNamee, Hoolahan, Gill, Hughes, Surman, Crofts, Fox, Lappin OTJ, Gill & Hughes to be sold- deadwood. Lappin gives cover as a left midfielder (not winger- if we''re leading a game and need to hold on- more defensive option) and also left back, if Drury, Tiereny get injured. McNamee is a winger and can be extremely creative in small doses. Crofts and Fox both good at the holding role. Hoolahan and Surman obviously have places wrapped up, but we don''t have a right midfielder, someone who can cross the ball, either we get Holt/Jackson to swing balls in or Russell Martin but which a dangerous game to play when Holt/Jackson should be in the box and Martin should be on the half way line as Crofts can''t cross a ball particularly well. Another Right Midfielder, and potentially someone in a Scott Parker mould (not him as we can''t afford him)- Box to box ball winning midfielder a good footballer. Strikers- Wilbraham, Holt, Jackson, Martin, Johnson, Daley Daley, Johnson to be sold- off the wage bill- won''t improve enough to challenge. Jackson ever improving need someone like him in case form drops if his confidence goes. Holt & Wilbraham are obviously both very much in same mould but not convinced by Wilbrahma in the Premier League- loanee like Daniel Sturridge- someone big bold and brash if Holt gets injured. No point in adding a permenant signing if you can get someone of his quality in specially if we get relegated can''t afford a huge wage bill with a lot of players on it. So all in all, we don''t need too many players- I think our squad is quite strong. Just one or two players in each area of the team.
  4. You can clearly see what the thread is about- don''t read it if you aren''t interested in the topic. Instead of moaning and a repeat of threads you''re just repeating the moaning in multiple threads. It''d be good to look further afield, but it''s a gamble. As said before, it didn''t work last time, but Worthy only looked for big names really, not Premiership quality, or ones for the future. Some of the best signings are the cheap ones who peform above expectations (Can''t think of many off top of my head). However I''d expect Lambert (IF PROMOTED) to sign players from England or with proven class in English leagues previously. We aren''t like United, where we can gamble on players- eg:- The twins, Macheda, etc etc. They don''t always come off, but to them £3/4 million is nothing, but for Norwich, any player brought in for anything over £500k will be expected to play first team football and challenge for positions. We just don''t have the luxury of being able to gamble on unproven talent at the highest level.
  5. Balls. Need two really, had another sorted in R.A Lounge but the guy who had agreed to sell to me, text me about 10 mins ago saying he''d already sold it. I can''t get into Norwich without my lift. Damn.
  6. 07540 844 914 for anyone looking to sell tickets. Can meet at Ground from 6.30 onwards, or pick up from Fakenham to Norwich area. VML
  7. Any chance of that ticket in Russell Lounge- already got one sorted- another would be amazing. Can meet you in Morrisons Car Park this evening or something?
  8. Just got the evening off work hoping there would be some spare left for beamback- completely sold out. If anyone isn''t going or has an extra ticket or to then just let me know. VML

  10. You literally have no idea. I''m not saying that, if they get behind the team all the better. I''m glad of the support along with other fans I''d imagine, more revenue etc etc. However these aren''t fans. They expect us to win every game, we didn''t even get beat comprehensively yesterday. It was a tight affair and the teams were separated by two wonder goals and some pretty good goalkeeping and they still left the pub early. They abuse the players- John Ruddy is one of our finest performers all season. He made some wonderful saves and his distribution was wonderful and when fans abuse him, what kind of impression does that give of the rest of us. It''s embarrassing.
  11. couldn''t make yesterdays away trip unfortunately due to work commitments but did managed to nip off at about 5 to catch it at an unnamed establishment in Fakenham town centre. The amount of people in there ''cheering'' on Norwich compared to the game shown on Sky against MK Dons was ridiculous. The one where we lost in a very unsavoury fashion and probably should have won, the score escapes me but Chris Martin scored a cracker. Anyway, the point is, all these part time fans come out as soon as we''re any where near the Premier League and ruin the experience for us and for the players. I''ve seen the tweets aimed at Ruddy, it''s disgusting. Obviously we''re entitled to our opinion but having watched the game I thought we were incredibly unlucky. Pacheco & Holt went incredibly close within 5 minutes- we were all over them and then they score an incredible freekick followed by another strike which 9/10 times wouldn''t have gone in. We''re 2-0 down and wondering quite how that''s happened. This is when the discontent started amongst the ''fans''. We were keeping the ball as Lambo knew at 2-0 up Swansea would need to be hounded to retain posession. It''s 30/40 minutes in and the ''fans'' are screaming for the ball to be pumped long, they haven''t watched us all season we play the ball around, that''s our game. Another day and we''d have won/drawn, Korey goes close twice, Grant has two headers flash just wide. These jokers don''t help anyone, fortunately they weren''t at the game it was embarrassing. They didn''t even know all the players names, I appreciate support for our club- but when they don''t know what they''re talking about and they start leaving 70/80 minutes through because "we''ve got no chance"- even though we''re all over them. I apologise this doesn''t make all that much sense, but it frustrated me beyond belief. It''ll be the same for Forest at home on Friday- but fortunately I can take my regular seat in the Barclay and instead listen to the jokers behind me who still think Russell Martin is a ''weak link''.
  12. How many of us are making the game this evening? I''m half tempted, having heard that a few players are involved, Askou, Smith, Whitbread amongst others? However I''m not sure if this should be taken with a pinch of salt, as would Lambert be willing to let even fringe players go to a competitive game against a Fakenham side who will be well up for it.
  13. Lower Barclay, that''s a great shout actually. Cheers fella, never considered it.
  14. Well, I would but he''s sorted out all the travel arrangements including trains and things. I feel bad, I may just have to soak up the atmosphere and watch it somewhere in Norwich, any ideas anyone?
  15. I had to stand for the 90 minutes, not that I''m complaining however the poor little lad behind me was, but I''m 6 ft 7 and the leg room would have meant the giving the guy infront an unconventional shoulder massage. It''s a bit of a hole, but it is very compact and I appreciate that, being so close to the pitch is a huge plus, the views were good (Upper tier, Y6). The concourse at half time and full time took a while for everyone to filter out, but I do quite like the ground.
  16. We''ll get him cut price right? As he''s out of contract next summer if I''m not mistaken. However if he is moving on the cheap he will be popular amongst Championship teams, I''d hazard a guess QPR might sniff around? Big time charlies at the moment, want to snap up decent talent. Specially as their centre halfs didn''t seem too solid, might just be me though.
  17. It''s not insulting to Scots, just to him. If Lambert takes offense, I''d be very surprised. There is nothing wrong with singing it, stop over exaggerating. I''d imagine when we were singing it to Burley we had several Scots in the squad, Mackay, Holt off the top of my head?
  18. Elliot Ward doesn''t give them away in dangerous areas. Gary Doherty however often wrestled defenders and as incredible as he was last year, with his lack of pace this year I wouldn''t fancy him contending with Jamie Mackie yesterday... or Scott Sinclair, Lloyd Dyer etc etc
  19. He must expect it, if I was him I''d enjoy it. It''s rare that the very shit players get personal abuse. He''s a good keeper, clearly as QPR have conceded 5 all season? Or something like that.
  20. See you all there. Should be a good few straight off the train I''d imagine.
  21. I sat there for the Barnsley as I''d given a friend my season ticket and turned out I could attend at like 2.30 or something, so anyway, there I am sitting there and maybe 15 people singing, getting better though.
