Really good post and I agree with almost all of it with the exception of the last point. A better system will certainly help the team but we also need defenders being switched on for the entire game and not making so many stupid mistakes (which I think is often due to complacency in terms of Hanley and confidence for Gibson - Mcallum and Giannoulis are just erratic). The system played no part in Blackburns goal.....it was just Hanley making an idiotic mistake.

I really rate Cantwell (or at least when he is ‘fit’ to play) but surely Rangers won’t be paying anywhere near £10m for a player out of contract at end of year and currently not even playing for us!? if they are we should grab it and see how genuine their interest for McLean is if they’re throwing silly money about!
-
Id go with this for now but ideally I'd like a fully fit Hayden or a new CDM to replace Kenny. Pukki is a clever player and can still make great runs in the position. If it isnt working in a game or when he tires can use Mclean, Dowell or Cantwell(?!?) to try something different. Similarly if need pace in game replace Sara/Nunez with Hernandez or a recalled Mumba/Tzolis or if were really desperate Placheta.

Max - "a return to something we know"
rock bus replied to lake district canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I agree with this, I am sure he is acting as the mouthpiece of the club but his comments went far beyond the usual we’ve let 5he old manger down but now looking forward to working with the new boss. It was a very clear message to the supporters that it’s acknowledged didn’t work with Smith and this is a deliberate change (and ironically is also a move back to the Farke days to at least trying to establish a set style and approach). we all know max can seem quite downbeat but here he seemed genuinely pleased to have seen a change in approach already. -
What has happened to Hanley?
rock bus replied to canarydan23's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He is not slow at all pace wise, he’s actually quick (exceptionally for his size) but he is very slow in his thinking and that’s the problem. -
I agree, I just think he is tired and fed up. Been a fantastic signing for our club but we should let him go now and look to the future (Sargent + a.n. Other - definitely NOT Hugill or Idah!!)
-
Let’s be honest, we’re just not very good. Although I do think Smith made us even worse rather than any improvement. Reality is we need totally rebuild our team. I’d forget about this season in terms of promotion but instead start to build a team for the future. Forget players like Krul, Hanley. Hernandez, Cantwell, Gibson and even Pukki. Let’s build a team playing the Wagner way with players like Omo, Tomkinson, McCallum, Gibbs, Nunez and Sargent.

Wagner trains with the lads

Todd skinning Mclean.....all you need to know for now Mr Wagner! -
Missed opportunity from Webber
rock bus replied to KeiranShikari's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think Webber is doing the right thing, his reputation is tainted with the fans (although unlike others I don’t think permanently). standing back and allowing Wagner to be the face of change and a new approach is definitely the right thing as the fans can (and I think will) back him. Only thing I think Webber should also do is use Wagner to offer the olive branch to the local press. This would be an important step to continue to build bridges back across the club and get the unity back. Something that is imperative for a club of our size to be successful. -
More ambition, enthusiasm, humour, charm, style and charisma in that 14 minute interview than we had from smith in a year. Cant help but feel players will also be more impressed and determined to work hard after hearing from him compared to Smith. I’m definitely sold.

I know there will be loads of accusations of it just being Webber's mate and the easy option.... but I think this is the right appointment. IT is a recognition that Webber got it wrong with Smith and a return, at least in some parts, to the road we ventured down with Lord Farke. He has a track record in the championship and levels of experience that is better than the likes of Martin and Robins. He has a more defined style of football that suits the Norwich way compared to Wilder or Dyche. He has more charisma in his little toe than Smith. He has connections across the football community (including a best mate at one of the top clubs in the country). Will certainly have my full backing.... (unless of course we lose to Blackburn on Sunday!!!)
-
when is the press conference due for the Blackburn game? Id presumed it was today as usual but guess fact it is Sunday means would be moved to tomorrow? Surely they will be announcing manager before or as part of that? If not who is going to host it? Russell said the interim team were only in place for 2 games.
-
But when they work they can bring unprecedented levels of success and money eg Huckerby, Crouch and Skipp. Sadly you need to kiss a lot of frogs but its the same for development of our own... very few actually make it. It is highly unlikely we will develop enough players internally to secure Premier league football... has any club done that recently?
-
This is my main concern with appointing Wagner. Whoever comes in will need time to turn this awful team around and create a style of play that works and suits the players we have. It wont happen over night and all of us fans will need to be patient. My worry is fans will be too quick to latch on to the Wagner is Webber's mate idea and wont give him the time he needs. Happy for frustrations to continue to be shown towards Webber but we must give the manager time.

McNally must be having a right laugh at us
rock bus replied to rock bus's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My point was mainly highlighting it was an arrogant and stupid thing to say and that he has wasted a LOT (more than McNally) on really poor players. im not sure i really care how great the training ground is now when we are absolutely rubbish on the pitch…it’s not like there is any evidence that the improved infrastructure is helping us to attract better players!! -
Just proves he is full of sht….what happened to his mantra of “ignoring the noise”

How does Gino not get in above MC??
rock bus replied to Rhino1's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It’s all a bit odd, McCallum is like Nunez, Sara and Sargent they all on occasions look like excellent players but the next minute also look like they have never played the game before. The lack of consistency is just incredible. The only thing that gives me any sort of hope is that maybe a decent manager can actually coach these players to improve them and give them some confidence. The irony is the one guy who was VERY good at that was Farke! -
Wagner now odds on favourite
rock bus replied to dylanisabaddog's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think Wagner is a decent option…But the biggest issue he is going to face is he will regarded as Webbers man. There is therefore a big risk the fans will turn very quickly on him if improvements don’t happen very quickly. I hope that doesn’t happen as whoever comes in needs time to turn this mess around. -
McNally must be having a right laugh at us

That quote from Webber about last administration p.ing money at the wall now back to haunt him. His arrogance has effectively ruined our club. Over his time he has managed to firstly help bu8ld a great squad but now has brought us to a level that is worse than when he arrived. How much premier league money has he totally wasted on rubbish players? even worse he has cost us the loss of Farke one of our best ever managers in my opinion. -

McNally must be p ing himself with laughter. Im very surprised he hasn’t sent out a tweet quoting what Webber said, I certainly would have. Webbers arrogance has been his and the club’s downfall unfortunately.
