Gibson in, Wagner out

This was certainly noticeable against WBA, even with 11 men, seems ridiculous how we just seem to let the opposition stroll from before half way up to the penalty spot.

He was stupid today but then again so was Buendia on quite a few occasions.
Hoping Wagner doesn’t hang him out to dry and we all recognise that many great players have reckless moments and it’s that unpredictability which forms part of the talent.
-
I just don’t think he has the required mental instinct to be a top player.
He lacks the game sense to make a move in advance of a pass or the speed of thought to deceive a run (hence so many offsides).
Later on in the game defenders are both physically and mentally tired so he doesn’t need to be one step ahead and his natural strength and pace are enough to have an impact.

I think people are getting carried away by a fortunate draw away at the scum and an unconvincing scraped win against cannon fodder in Huddersfield. Ok, we have 4 points but nobody could argue if we’d lost both games.
Still the starting XI appears to be a lottery and the only foreseeable result here is defeat. Probably heavy.
I expect the 17,000 that were ACTUALLY THERE against Huddersfield would agree with me.
Hope I’m wrong.
I was there and I think your comments are wrong.
Easily beat Huddersfield and looked very good in the second half.
I’d take a draw v wba but think we could sneak a one goal win
-
I think the fact they’re at home and their fans will be expecting them to be in the front foot could help us.
It was a struggle to break down Huddersfield yesterday but I think we’ve some more space both Sainz and Rowe will cause them problems.
hoping for a good game -
I’m glad to see both players and manager showing some passion.
could still do with a bit more from the stands -
Dull game
on top but not really pulling them apart of creating chances. Sainz and Rowe clearly the sparks but carrying Barnes and Hernandez .
Changes needed at half time

Was terrible first half but full credit was excellent second half

We did well to hold on,
Mccallum was so much better second half.
Wagner again mystifies with decisions , Rowe off, Springett and Hernandez on?!, but continues to live a charmed life and I’ll settle with that until we get someone decent in
-
Looks like I’m alone in thinking we weren’t too bad that half! Should’ve had 3 goals but yet again our own stupidity has cost us.
Sainz showing why he should’ve started games way before this and Rowe showing why Wagner hasn’t started him!
We can and need to win this!
-
Boy do I miss that team!
Whilst they were great goals for Sara and Nunez that was all before they were forced to play as false Centre backs!

I'm not sure it will have any impact.
He could've changed the manager and then still see us lose or.
On other hand if we win on Saturday that doesnt mean it is the right decision to keep Wagner.
Our problems extend far beyond just the manager (although he may indeed be part of the problem).
Whilst Saturday may be hugely important to us fans it is critical that we have a sporting director who thinks far more long term and strategically than basing decisions on one result.

Subs were poor but you can’t say Gibbs for Barnes or Rowe for Fassnacht are like for like at all.

Need to get at least one of Sainz or Rowe on for start of second half.
Preston there for taking…which inevitably means 1-0 to them!
-
Fair play to them, they’ve done brilliantly.
Don’t enjoy saying that as living in the Midlands, have had to put up with lots of Villa fans going on about the past (they’re as bad as the binners!!)
Also worth noting they have been much better without trying to shoehorn Buendia into the team……perhaps he might need a loan in January to build up his fitness,, performance and confidence!?!?

Must admit that was my first thought from watching it.
I was particularly pleased to see how much a player like Sainz (who would be totally entitled to be a bit miffed this season) looked chuffed to bits with the goal and the result.
Also, seeing it from this angle, the long ball from Kenny for Idah's goal was a lot better than I thought (much more than just a punt upfield).
We can only hope this is not a false dawn but the start of more enjoyable times for Idah, the team, Wagner and us fans.

I thought it was brilliant to see.
Wagner is clearly a really nice guy and I also think a very emotional one who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Tactically rubbish maybe but I would love him to turn things around at the club (but not convinced he cam).
nice to enjoy w win anyhow

8 minutes ago, Indy said:I still think he’s doing well with the ****e left to him this summer! Duffy, Forshaw, Hwang, Stacey, Fassnacht, and to a degree Bathh & Barnes (Barnes excellent motivator and might be better asa coach for our young striker in the future). Had we actually invested in some decent CB, loaned a good CDM & striker who knows what could be achieved! Still Knappers reign has started with 3 out four wins! Not bad, maybe he is having an impact already!
I’m no fan of Idah and whilst I like Wagner as a person his tactics and team selection have been very poor recently. But I was still jumping around the room when Idah scored and it was genuinely nice to see the celebration by Wagner with Idah.
Whatever you think about Wagner he is an emotional guy and deserved that celebration.
BUT despite that I still have my concerns, Indy makes a good point re the squad but isn’t that the type of player Wagner said he wanted? Suppose question is who is to blame for all the old duffers bought this season? Wagner, Webber or a combination?
Anyhow, I’m going to celebrate the win with a beer and hope Wagner and Idah both end up proving me wrong.

Honestly, he has lost the plot.
Bathe, Sainz and Warner should just walk out now -
This is a really good interview and the first thing I have heard from the club in a long time that has given me some hope.
Great to hear some positives and his and Bens ideas sound good.
World away from the senile idiotic quotes we got from the Smiths. I can only imagine how he felt sitting next to them as they embarrassed the club.
Really hope that they can push the transfer through quicker or at least him and Ben can be let to run the club

Just now, Fuzzar said:Well, I took some comfort from Attanasio's comment regarding stadium expansion and believe that it is something that could genuinely happen under his ownership.
It's a shame that there might be 2 more years before this can begin to happen, but I'm not convinced the handover will take that long.
Stadium expansion is the last thing we need to be spending money on at the moment.
If the team continue serving up the current dross then we wont be filling the current capacity even if we do cling on to Championship status (which I would guarantee if Delia remains in charge for next couple of years)

I’m not sure this is a terrible squad more like terrible team selection and just sticking to the same rubbish tactics
