in fairness to Webber he never got his pants pulled down on transfer fees when we were selling.

Although weirdly not so true when it came to buying (at least when it came to spending decent money (Tszolis, Rashica, Normann etc)

Problem with it being reported to be a loan is I fear they will end up sending him back to us at the end of it..

Might be harsh but this is my fear as well. He's never really stepped up here and I doubt he will do it in half of a season where he has the added complications of settling in a new country.

I'd be happy to sell him now but wouldnt risk a loan with an option to buy.

I’ll say this again! Because from what I’m listening to he’s getting some good balls into that box!

Is McCallum a better option on the right wing than Hernandez? He’s got a great delivery and makes things happen! What about a three of Rowe, Sainz, McCallum behind Sargent and play Giannoulis at left back?

My grans a better option than Hernandez and she’s dead!

    (only partly joking 🙃)

I can't see him coming here now. We're looking more and more a basketcase of a club. Why would he want to leave the Arsenal set up to join a Championship club with a perceived 7 good players?

From our perspective we'd have an inexperienced Head Coach reporting to a rookie Sporting Director reporting to an owner who knows nothing of English football.

It's a massive risk. It needs a strong character who can run the show on his own if he had to.

I suppose that is the point and to become manager at 28 for a championship (former premier league) club is quite an appointment.

If he fails he will be able to go back to being a number 2 at a big club. Do well (which given the shambles of a club we are now this means play offs) then a premier league position beckons.

I dont expect he is interested but if he was I'd push to get him now - even if we agree with Arsenal we will wait until the end of the season and just use a caretaker manager for the rest of this. I know many wont be happy us 'giving up' this season but lets be honest promotion with this squad would be disastrous anyhow. I'd see it as a statement of intent for how we intend to develop a club and culture based on youth and brave decisions.

From the way Wagner's back-up team spend the match hunched over their computer screens, my guess is that this is stats based. Someone somewhere has produced stats which 'prove' that this type of play leads to more goals for and fewer against. This use of stats is why most teams now play out from the back, for instance.

People must make up their own minds whether this is good science or commercially-driven voodoo.

Think this probably says a lot. I'm in favour of the use of stats and clearly they have a huge role to play in tactics, player selection and recruitment.

But during the game it might be a bit better if the coaching team actually spent their time looking at what's going on in the moment on the pitch!

It also explains Wagners often ridiculous and predictable subs.  Presumably the stats suggest that Rowe only has the energy to last 65/70 minutes and therefore HAS to be subbed even when he is clearly the only one of our players actually doing something on the pitch!

Surprised by the lack of trust in Dimi. Am I  the only one who thinks he’s been one of our better, more consistent performers this season?

I'd say he has been one of our best performers but is  inconsistent.

That's always been the issue with him, he seems to have the qualities that could make him a premier league full back (especially given how the position has developed over the years) but far too often he is prone to mistakes - often I think due to a lack of attention than ability.

  7. Perhaps more interestingly the report mentions they may also be getting rid of an Arsenal loan left back and a DCM on loan from Chelsea…..perhaps we could go in for them!

As for Omobamidele , getting anywhere near £11m was one of the few decent things Webber did in his last couple of years.

  8. I'm one of the few who think that McCallum is a decent player. Admittedly his decision making can be poor and he lacks a bit of game awareness. But he is a strong and powerful player who is decent at getting forward.

Given his age, I'd rather he was offered a new contract and we use the rest of this season to bed him into the team and see how he develops before we decide how much we need to invest in another left back (ie is it one to act as back up to McCallum or as a new starter).

Either way we should be sorting one of their contracts now and play them consistently rather than the constant indecision Wagner seems to be showing.

  9. I actually feel a bit sorry for him.

Seems clear to me that he has probably realised he is a spent force. He’s come from a club where he was loved, being part of a squad that is successful and playing great football. I am sure he played a part in that success from a influencing factor if not actual play.

I expect he came to us with the right intentions of showing he ‘still had it” and could bring us success. Sadly the reality is that he no longer has the skills or legs for the modern game. He has also joined a club which is a complete shambles and a squad of players who are probably as bemused as us fans.

Mentally this means he is just a frustrated and angry player who is now literally just thrashing out at people.

Wagner needs to pull him from the starting 11 and try to just use him from a coaching and supporting level on the training field. Let him regain his pride by focusing on trying to teach Idah how to actually play as a strong centre forward. If he could do that then it would still have been a good signing.

I dont think there's any misunderstanding between fans that Barnes was useless yesterday, Stacey fouled more than he passed, Kenny gave the ball away and Plachetas second touch is always trying to win the ball back because his first tends to lose it.

So I don't see much value in talking about it. But I do see value in talking about Sara because I think he gets away with stuff no other player would which is fine when he's delivering in an attacking sense but he hasn't done recently.

A poster even blamed Kenny for Sara being poor. It would make sense but even the players on the pitch and Sara himself knew it was his own fault as did the ex-pro on co-comms.

Sara has always backed out of 50/50s so I can live with that. I can live with him being caught out of position regularly. I can live with him apologising to Kenny for not making any movements off the ball at times. So long as he's doing the stuff he is good at well, because he's very good at it.

Yesterday he didn't. He was painfully safe on the ball and made it so, so easy for Millwall. I don't think the wide players helped with their movement etc but still.

Think this is the point with Sara, I don’t want him being the player going in to 50/50 tackles with the intent of getting the ball or the man. That’s the role that is missing in the team and one that neither Nunez or McLean is suitable for.it’s not about thuggery but about being a hard working and hard tackling player either basic like Tettey or a bit classier like Skipp.

Sara is the player that I want to receive the ball after the tackler wins it back. He can then uses his undoubted class to create something with a FORWARD pass (sadly Wagner seems to have told him only to pass sideways or backwards!)

  11. I can’t remember feeling this despondent and uninspired by a Norwich team for years.

I just want the season to end as quickly as possible in the hope that we then see Wagner sacked and a complete overhaul of the squad. I’m not expecting us to be competing for promotion for years but I’d at least like to be able to support a young team being coached to play good football rather than watching the dross produced by all these has beens (never beens).

I’m just a non local arm chair fan who can’t even to be bothered to watch via a stream anymore so my thoughts are with all you season ticket holders who have paid and therefore will have to endure more of this rubbish.
