  1. I’d give it to Sainz just because he offered some hope
  2. Thought we started brightly and the completely faded (but like season as a whole) Middlesborough growing into it and goal looking more inevitable
  3. Yep, I do. Remains more solid at back and offers more going forward. By the end Aarons spent most of game wandering around in a daze
  4. What is it they say about insanity being doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results? Honestly, what will it take for Wagner to realise that: the defence needs changing (even just to freshen it up) Mclean and Sara are not a good enough shield for the defence Sara needs pushing up the pitch Idah will never be good enough only consolation no springett but even then dropping him from the entire squad after putting him on first at the weekend seems bizarre. I despair!
  5. I honestly think we need to move on from this 'confidence player' view point... I hoped that was the case but let's be honest he just isnt very good! The only way he may gain confidence is if he drops down a league or even two. Maybe then he will be a decent goal scorer and he could end up blooming like Morris at Luton. But whilst he is playing for us all he is going to show week after week is that he isnt up to Championship level. Saturday was a good example, yes he did the odd decent thing but I dont think he really troubled their defence that much. Most importantly when he got the chance to put the ball in the net he missed an almost open goal. Yes, it would've been ruled out for offside but the reason he missed wasn't due that or a lack of confidence, it's because he isnt a very good striker. If Wagner is going to improve our performance then I'm afraid that Idah has been given the chance and now needs to be dropped.
  6. I think the only person who could explain this is Wagner - did the pink un reporters put this direct question to him? The only other person who would agree it was the right decision would be Springett's mum (but even she wouldnt believe it in her heart of hearts!)
  7. He’s stated that it is something he would like to do
  8. Yes I do think we could. mainly because Sara and Rowe are two of the best players in the league. we also have a decent enough squad of players to support them if we were more tactically astute and selected the right team. im now beginning to wonder is the issue is we don’t have a top 6 manager.
  9. Class is exactly the word I would use for him. also seems to be a genuinely nice guy who loved this club (although Cantwell, leitner and Oliveira may not agree!). I thought him going to Leeds would put me off him, sadly the man crush is still there. I still live in hope one day he may come back as sporting director
  10. I’d agree and actually you only need one or two exceptional players to be fighting for promotion. we proved that ourselves when we had a relatively decent team bolstered by skipp and Emi. Coventry were the same last season (the striker and midfielder…can’t remember their names !) one of the most frustrating things about this year is we DO have those stars in Rowe and Sara. But sadly it is growing more obvious with every game that the manager can’t build the necessary supporting team and structure around them. I think we have enough decent championship players to actually achieve at least the play offs
  11. Given how it’s ending for Stuart in any other club Zoe would be going as well. She might be good at her job but the level of influence the pair have had and the mess they have made of the club her position is just untenable
  12. Let’s be honest it’s a huge step up for him, expect he is just delighted to have been given the chance. Not sure if that’s good news for us though, don’t feel like we are in a position to be taken a gamble on someone so inexperienced
  13. Fact he didn’t finish it tells you all you need to know. i thought he was useless again and didn’t cause them any problems, which is the least a striker should do. sooner we admit he is rubbish and drop him from the squad the better
  14. I honestly can’t understand why Wagner keeps putting springett. He may one day end up being decent but at the moment I just don’t see what he offers. Can’t believe that even placheta, fasschnatt wouldn’t have been a better option. And why not sainz? it’s bizarre
  15. Having had a couple of years in the premier league and taken in millions in transfer fees how have we ended up with such an awful squad? (I know it’s rhetorical and the answer is Webber!) although to be fair I actually don’t blame this years signings what I can’t understand is how players like Idah, Springett,, Gibson, Hernandez and placheta are anywhere near our first team squad. We have even tried to get rid of the last two on loan to what were then lower league teams. Christ, somehow we’ve ended up in a position where McLean is one of our best players and I’ve spent the previous 4 years convinced he wasn’t good enough! it’s a disgrace.
  16. I should also have added playing Idah…it’s like playing with 10 men. He may have been offside but he didn’t know that when he missed yet another sitter. Absolute rubbish
  17. I have to agree, I just can’t understand what he is thinking. Sticking with a formation that isn’t working Playing two slow centre backs who are not working not playing Sara in his best positon Playing Gibbs in wrong position and ahead of better players. bringing on springett….what the f is that about…he offers absolutely nothing. I had big hopes for him and would like some consistency but it’s almost like he is trying to get sacked.
  18. I know Fassnacht has had a couple of ropey games but he is a far better class than Hernandez and gibbs. wagner does seem to make some very weird decisions
  19. I think the risk is that Leeds take the lead and then the fans start chanting Farke's name and cheering him. I love Farke but that would be real smack in the face for Wagner and the team and another reminder that the gap between the fans and the clubs is getting wider again.... and the club must take action then so we dont go back to the dark days of Dean Smith or even worse Roeder!
  20. I loved Farke when he was here and he will always be one of my favourite managers. But I still want us to stuff Leeds (not that it’s likely). I’m also kind of hoping he gets sacked by them quickly but goes on to be a successful manager at another non English club. He’s our legend not theirs!
  21. Anyone else bemused by our apparent decision to allow Nunez to play for Chile? https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/23848043.chile-boss-eduardo-berizzo-confirms-marcelino-nunez-plans/ I know it talks about being a motivator for him but given he hasn't played a minute for us since he got injured on international duty, Surely we should insist that he pulls out of the squad? We are so lacking in influential midfielders who can change a game (which Nunez can do if on form) I cant believe we are risking him playing in an international.
  22. wow, we all like to moan about the club but this makes me really proud to be a fan. an important message delivered really well OTBC
  23. Another thread briefly diverted on how frustrating it was on Saturday to see Gunn, Gibson and Duffy persistently just knocking the ball between them. For all the fans present it was just so annoying and painful to watch! Wagner seems to still believe we are 'playing out from the back and this is us retaining possession and creating space This ISN'T playing it out from the back, it's playing it across the back with no purpose. I don't necessarily totally blame the players mentioned here, it's more to do with the lack of options being created in front of them. Ironically, Coventry showed us how to do it. Two or three quick passes (taking one touch to control - not the minimum three or four our defenders seem to need) and then playing it up field to a midfielder or attacker who had actually moved in to space. I've no issues with playing out from the back but we arent doing that. Alongside the bemusing use of subs its giving me grave concerns about Wagner
