Exactly what I said to my 1p5wich supporting mate a little while back (yes, we are allowed to be friends with the more reasonable ones). Although it pains me to say it, watching them achieving way more than the sum of their parts, through sheer determination and character, is reminiscent of our better times under Lambert & Farke during the promotion years. The sad thing for them, and almost every other team promoted to the 'promised land' that is the PL, is that reality kicks in very quickly once you go up, and positive, attacking play is very quickly sacrificed in a desperate effort to save a few points and avoid going straight back down again.

Wrong to generalise, I know, but it seems to me that the expectations of many fans seem to be somewhat aligned with their ages, and thus to a certain extent the length of time they have been going to watch Norwich. Younger generation (watching for less than 10 years) - believe we are a Premiership team with a God-given right to play in the top tier. Middle aged (watching 10 -30 years) - believe we are a Championship team who occasionally get a temporary trip into the big time. Older generation (old farts like me) - love to see the team do well, but in general are just happy that we still wake up every morning and have the opportunity to go to the games.

I must admit that when Ben Knapper was appointed I was one of those advocating keeping Wagner for a short while, thus giving the new boy time to get his feet under the table and seek a suitable replacement before the January transfer window, However, the past few games have shown just how utterly desperate the situation has become. Whether it is poor tactics, poor man management, or whatever, something has obviously gone very wrong in the squad. To surrender a two goal lead in two games in the space of a few weeks, and play so poorly even when scraping a win, is unforgivable. The players seem to be totally bereft of self-belief and, while not the best squad in the division, should be doing a hell of a lot better than they are. I'm all for giving Neil Adams or another interim manager the reigns until a suitable replacement can be found. p.s. after Stoke lost to QPR last night I jokingly suggested to my friend that we swap managers. It wouldn't cost anything other than a couple of bus fares, and neither team could be any worse. He has forbidden me from going within 50 meters of any board members.
