1. Shack, the trouble is, everybody (especially the scousers) is so precious and easily offended nowadays. Unless singing and chanting is banned altogether, this will never stop, because somebody somewhere is going to have a lower threshhold at which they ''take offence''. Scousers are victims, Man Utd fans gloryhunters, Ipswich are scum, and we are apparently all inbred. Football fans, for years have taken part in a very basic level of social commentary. Mocking disasters is out of order, but the pathetic whimpering from Liverpool fans over sunday''s events just enhancesthe argument that they''re perpetual victims. Yes it can be childish, yes we could all ''grow up'', but the game will be a lot less interesting. And if you''re arguing that its the media/authorities which have created the whole victim image, well its the same media and authorities which are now whitewashing Hillsborough the other way around.
2. Yes, he''s been good this season. Always likely to shine given Hughton''s uber-defensive approach. Ironic that this thread is created after the Newcastle game though! He was poor, constantly caught in possession and lucky not to have cost us goals. I''d lucky to see what Tettey can do after that performance.
3. I think, on balance, that we probably shouldn''t sing this song on saturday, if only to avoid the subsequent hand-wringing of the media. Last season, it certainly wasn''t sung as a reference to Hillsborough, but, as mentioned above, a reference to the whole scouse mentality. But it raises the question of where does all this stop. Man Utd fans have been lambasted in the national media for singing "United, United..." in an attempt to drown out "You''ll never walk alone" before their game on Sunday. Were they supposed to just let their biggest rivals sing their club song with no interruption? Is no-one ever allowed to respond to their sacred song ever again? Will it be disrespectful to respond with "You''ll never get a job"? I suspect it would be given the current climate.   As for the point that those who sung it last year were ''morons'', that''s just nonsense. Has it really been proved that the sentiment of the ''always the victim'' song is wrong? The findings of the panel might suggest so, but have a look at some of the evidence in the report. Read some of the statements made by witnesses at the time. Look at the reports made by individual police officers outside and inside the ground. Conveniently the panel seemed to overlook a lot of evidence in their desperate attempts to reach the ''right'' conclusion.
4. Yeah, absolutely agree, just opens us up to ridicule, and that''s exactly what the Arse fans did. Who cares anyway if they crammed an extra 20 people into a suite somewhere? That announcer gets more irritating by the game- "GET BEHIND YOUR TEAM, NORWICH CITTTTEEEEE!" But equally embarassing was the almost ecstatic reaction from much of the crowd to a home defeat! I mean, a standing ovation? Really??!! Its not like we were unlucky, that game should have been 7 or 8-1. Clearly our poorest performance of the season, and an unwelcome return to the little old Norwich mentality. First time i''ve felt embarrassed to by a Norwich fan in 3 seasons!
5. How on earth does the club know that someone bought a ticket in their cat''s name??? Did someone walk into the ticket office and admit to it?! I understand where McNally is coming from, but this sounds highly unlikely to me. A little bit too much spin i think!
6. Odds on Norwich or cardiff winning the title have crashed since last night! QPR were something like 1/50, now down to about 1/3 or 1/4. Pressure is building!
7. Some excellent posts on this thread. The time to boo was 2 or 3 years ago when we had players who couldn''t care less about this club. This is a new era. We have committed players and a fantastic management team. And this is a promotion campaign. Automatic promotion will go to the team who puts the best run together from now onwards. Booing Wilbraham, and slagging off Holt and Hoolhan is not gonna help the players go on such a run. The players are giving their all; let''s get right behind them.
8. Yellow Rider, let me clarify that Holt misjudged the situation; he had time to get a very decent effort in. But any striker in the league, when clean through on goal and given the opportunity, will cut across the defender chasing back. If you then get your legs clipped, its a foul. Holt did the same thing outside the box on at least a couple of occasions yesterday, and won free kicks. Obviously not all ''contact'' amounts to a foul, but if that contact impedes you, and the tackler doesn''t win the ball, then it''s probably a foul. Call it cheating if you wish, but i see no difference between trying to win a free kick (or pen) like this, and trying to win a decision by backing into a defender when challenging for a long ball, again to draw a foul. As for the comparisons with Johnson, yes, i called him all the names under the sun at the time. But looking back, many of the decisions he won were legitimate ones. The worst accusation you can level at him is that he was ''theatrical'' when going to ground. I bet that there were no Palace fans at the time callling Johnson a cheat! So why are some of our own fans so keen to slag off Holt? And that''s exactly what''s happening here- ''Cheat'' is probably the most offensive thing to call a professional sportsman. Finally, i think most would agree that the Sheff Utd penalty was soft. But again in Holt''s defence, i don''t think he was even playing for a penalty on that occasion. He got legitimately muscled out of possession and the ref gave us a soft decision. Just because an unjust decision is given, doesn''t mean that someone has cheated.
9. You don''t call your own player a cheat. He was trying to win a penalty. That isn''t cheating. He knew contact was coming and waited for it. Not everything is black and white. I know people are disappointed with the result, but why have a pop at our star player when you''ve just watched possibly the most cynical team to come to Carrow road this season. If Holt had got the penalty decision given, if would have been everything PNE deserved.
10. Yes, he was trying to win a penalty but that doesn''t make him a cheat! He receives the ball, knows he''s got defenders chasing back; he moves across them and waits for contact. There WAS contact, without a shadow of a doubt, and he goes down. Outside the box its a free kick. Yes, Holt should have tried to put the chance away, and yes, Hoolahan should have tucked his penalty away. But it annoys me at how quickly people turn on players that have done so much for us. How about showing the players the kind of loyalty that we demand of them, rather than looking for an opportunity to slag them off?
11. I sat level with the ''penalty'' claim. It looked an even worse dive than Chris Martin''s early in the game. To be honest i didn''t even have to take a nervous glance at the ref. I guess i''ll watch it again tonight and it''ll be a stone-waller!
12. How about the ''Y''army'' song/chant. Unfortunately the half deaf old codgers in the Jarrold turn it into ''Norwich, Norwich...'' ad infinitum, which is a tad cringeworthy!
13. Couldn''t buy two tickets together at the box office this afternoon. Possibly getting some more tomorrow apparently so sounds like our allocation is nearly sold out
14. Dogs abuse for Marshall. A key component of the worst team in our history. I''ll be gutted if he doesn''t play; him coming back with cardiff was the game i was most looking forward to when we got promoted.
15. I would never dream of jinxing us by betting on us to win, but surely getting over evens for us to win tomorrow is far too generous given the meltdown taking place south of the border. 6/5 (2.2)on City win at betfair, or 3/1 for us to be winning HT and FT! I only wish i wasn''t so superstitious, cos i''d be filling my boots at those odds. In fact i''m so confident i''m starting to make myself a little nervous...!
16. lambert ''flattered'' by interest according to sky, but 100% committed to Norwich
17.

What was that all about?!Anyone near it in the Snakepit? I wafted into the Barclay Upper, where it was clearly smelt!!!
I was near it and if I see someone trying to light one at future games I will kick the crap out of them.
Yes, ban them for life. I think there were a couple of other people in the SP singing as well, hopefully the club can use CCTV to pick them out as well and put them in the stocks before the next home game. Why all fans just can''t sit on their hands and make Carrow Road as dull as possible I don''t know! Jesus wept - chill out pal.
Who said anything about banning people you tool? I stand by what I said if I see someone trying to light one at future games I will kick the crap out of them. They have no right to affect mine or anybody elses health and I have the right to protect mine.
Er, i wouldn''t employ that particular defence at court if i were you!
18. you''d best check that bet CUSDP (i f you got time). A £50 liability would make you only £4 if it does''t finish 0-0!
19. Go to a test match and these N-Power girls are everywhere. Perhaps N-Power will be flooding Championship grounds with them as well? [;)]
20. Really? I would say that if it''s correct, its probably not made up!
21. Whilst its true that the Police wont get overtime for a Sunday, the game at their place is on good Friday, a bank holiday. Double time all round. Thank goodness ME has such deep pockets eh? Unless the scum have had word from Sky that the game will be televised live. From memory, pretty much the only games on good friday are the TV games.
22. Obviously i was talking about keepers who are actually a fixture in the team. I wasn''t counting Theoklitos, just as I wasn''t counting Alnwick either. Marshall cost us 1 Mill plus two years of top wages and was pivotal in the worst team in out history. Theo cost nowt, as I recall, and as it turned out was a key figure in this club being transformed. Can''t wAit for Cardiff to come back here to give that sh?tbag some abuse.
23. For me, without doubt, it''s David Marshall 1M for that! Fortunately we''ve followed the worst keeper in our history with possibly the best.
24. "Dickson Etuhu a little bit ponderous in the midfield" Not our Dickson surely???!!!
25. if it''s arrogant to expect us to be a top flight club, then guilty as charged. Of course i know its not that simple, and u have to earn the right to get back there. I''m not saying don''t celebrate, there''s plenty of chances to celebrate. It''s just that a parade is OTT. But i''m being a bit hypocritical, cos despite my reservations, i will go anyway.
