  1. How short does the ''short notice'' get for these pressers Pete? And, have we confirmed that Hughton, whatever the circumstances, parks his car in a perfectly straight and symmetrical line?
  2. What I find most annoying (and is another stick to beat him with) is that Hughton refuses to park his car at that jaunty angle when a new signing is imminent. Lambert''s Maserati parked at between 45 and 60 degrees was a better than any white smoke. I bet that''s never even crossed Hughton''s mind. The PR at this club stinks ;-)
  3. Like I said ... I may be wrong. This ''idea'' came from something I''ve read numerous times on here! Jeez
  4. I''m fairly sure they''ll both pitch up at Villa in the next week or so ... didn''t someone post that they''ve said their ''goodbyes'' to the staff? However, if this tweeter is assuming that Culverhouse is now free to talk to AV because his current deal expires on 30/6 then I think that may be flawed. I''d always assumed that him and Karsa were on rolling 12 month contracts a al Lambert. I may be wrong ...
  5. Cheers ... must admit that myunswerving faith in McNally even outweighs my faith in Lambert and Holt :-) OTBC
  6. Totally agree with your sentiment mate ... but at the end of the day these guys are looking to make as good a living as possible over a relatively short career. The fact that we worship them as demi-gods is probably the thing that is is unrealistic in the larger scheme of things. OTBC
  7. For my take on the Lambert and Holt sagas, please see my latest blog at ... http://lgrwebwriter.blogspot.co.uk/ Apologies if the link doesn''t work (still haven''t sussed it) OTBC
  8. I have no doubt that if Culverhouse chose to stay and take on the manager''s role here he''d make a great success of it ... Lambo has spoken on countless occasions on how much he relies and values Culvehouse''s tactical nous. However (and I have absolutely no inside knowledge whatsoever) I''m fairly sure that Lambert would insist on taking Culverhouse and Karsa with him ... in his eyes they are very much a team, and are as valuable to him as the team ethic he preaches on the pitch. Culverhouse also strikes me as a very private man who would enjoy even less than Lambert the glare of publicity that accompanies the job. Anyway ... what are we talking about this for ... the whole thread is irrelevant ... Lambo is going nowhere! *crosses everything* OTBC
  9. I''ll be egg-stremely disappointed if you don''t read my Moro related blog at http://lgrwebwriter.blogspot.co.uk , I can promise you a clucking good read. I''ll get me coat! OTBC
  10. For those that are interested ... my latest blog can be found at www.lgrwebwriter.blogspot.com Apologies if the link doesn''t work ... but you know the routine. OTBC
  11. If you have a spare couple of minutes please feel free to have a glance at my blog ... http://www.lgrwebwriter.blogspot.co.uk/ Apologies if the link doesn''t work ... but you get my gist! OTBC
  12. Spot on Hogesar .... nail ... head ... hit ....!!!
  13. Great to have a game to talk about at last after yet another blinkin international break ... (is it just me, or do others find themselves getting less and less interested in England game?) ... just seems that no Norwich game to discuss equals the chance for us all to niggle at each other for no obvious reason. Whilst I accept the theory that games against our ''mini league'' rivals are more important surely this can''t be right. Whichever way you look at it 3 points are 3 points (yes, I know I''m a bit simple) and whether we take them off Arsenal or Wigan they''re worth the same! What is clearly important is that we fare equally well, and preferably better, against the ''top'' sides compared to our ''rivals''. Clearly tomorrow is going to be a difficult afternoon/lunchtime and I pray those around me in the River End don''t start moaning the second it dawns on them that Arsenal are dominating possession! I''ll be surprised if this isn''t the case, but it''s how solid we are and how we we defend when we haven''t got the ball that''s going to be key. Without wanting to state the obvious (I think I''m about to) we can''t carrying on shipping 3 goals a game for the remainder, and tomorrow''s going to be a massive test to see if we can return to the solidity we showed at Anfield, albeit we were helped by Ruddy heroics on the day. Will be intriguing to see if the genius that is PL decides to stick with Barnett and Martin or bring back De Laet ... whatever his decision I have no reason but to trust his judgement implicitly. In terms of the midfield ... will again be interesting to see if PL brings Fox back in, who definitely assists us in keeping the ball, as opposed to the Johnson/Hoolahan central midfield combo that always looked overrun at Villa. From my uninformed view I feel that our best results have come with 2 holding midfield players (Fox and Johnson) sitting in front of the back 4 with Johnson there to provide the energy and muscle and Fox to get on the ball. What this sadly does mean is that, assuming Wes has to play for his creative spark we''re back to playing one out and out striker ... and we return to the Holt/Morrison conundrum. Again ... we all trust PL enough to know that he''ll have a game plan tomorrow and even if we get beat it won''t be for the want of trying ... which isn''t how I felt after both of the Arsenal games in 2004/5 ... where we were embarrassingly outplayed on both occasions. Thankfully the whole feel of the place, management, players and even fans is different this time round and I genuinely feel that most of us are realistic enough to admit that whilst it could get hairy at times we have enough to survive in this league One final plea (that I''ve touched upon already) ... if you sit in the River End and have a tendency to go apoplectic every time one of our players dare to play the ball sideways or backwards ..... DON''T!!!!! OTBC
  14. Ennio Morricones "The Ecstasy Of Gold"... is a really good shout ... great piece of music. But have always had a strange yearning for Telstar by the The Tornadoes to blare out just before the team arrives ... weird aren''t I ... I''ll get my coat! OTBC
  15. Bit harsh mate. Given that they had no prior plans to make a dvd its hardly surprising they no interviews/additional clips etc Just enjoy the action ... and pray for another to be made of promotion part at either Fratton Park or FCR! OTBC
  16. Great blog ... I commend you sir. Sums up my feelings perfectly but far more eloquently than I ever could. Quite moving too .... *goose bump time* I''ll get my coat ... OTBC
  17. Am getting a little tired of the anti-Chris Martin brigade ... quite what he does off the pitch is wholly irrelevant and what''s really important is what he does on it. I couldn''t give a stuff if he lives the life of an angel or a hell''s angel, but if he starts scoring again that''s all that matters IMHO. Give me 11 ''herberts'' any day, rather than 11 saints who can''t win a game! OTBC
  18. Reckon the late Roy Waller would be proud of his protege after that spine tingling piece of commentary ... oh for a few more of those between now and May!!! OTBC
