1. confirmed Jos Hooiveld joins Norwich City on a season-long loan.
2. what Bassong allegedly said is no worse than what Wes had said about the club last season, in my opinion he should apologize knuckle down and fight for his place in the squad.
3. Some one on here last week said he''s scoring goals but isn''t good enough wich made me laugh after seeing him bang in another goal yesterday. He was quiet second half like the rest of the squad but he''s what we missed last season he was running back to get the ball at every opportunity great signing.
4.
I have read all the posts since the game ended after eventually getting home. Apparently I seem to be the only one posting that Redmond was apalling today. Even the pull back from the byline for the goal was a mistake as he really intended to cut inside as per usual. Seemed to lose confidence and failed to try to take on the full back. Can we sell him before Monday apparently the new Scots lad is a crackerjack. The perceived wisdom is that Murphy plays better when starting, thus play JM from the start and give Redmond a kick up the R''s. He is not as good as he thinks he is.
I hope it is only you because other than not taking it past more players Redmond was superb in the first half, second half he went quiet as did the rest of the squad. Tell me what your expecting from him? He''s a young lad only a year older than murphys and he''s better than them (agree murphys are closing in on him) sick of the Redmond slagging.
5.
To be honest, with the exception of a centre back coming in, so one of Ake, Miquel or Keane. I would be happy if absolutely nothing happened transfer wise over the next 48 hours. That said, I wouldn''t be unhappy to see Bassong, Surman or Becchio go, but I certainly wouldn''t want to see Hooper, Redmond or Bennett leave.
I''m in the same boat as you, we will need hooper this season as it''s a long tough season and with injuries and suspensions we need quality back up and hooper is a better striker than Jerome. Same goes with Benno definatly don''t want to see him go as he''s a quality replacemnt for any of out midfielders. We need strength on depths and we currently have that other than in defence so in my eyes no outs with 1-2 defencive recruitments and we are in for a good season.
6.
Ideally I would keep Redmond. But when the offer is 9 mill, it certainly makes you mull it over. It all boils down to if you think Redmond will become a big player for us, or will he fizzle out like Lennon and Townsend? I think it is more likely he will not make it big than the opposite. If so, 9 mill is a good price. 39 games, 1 goal and 3-4 assists? Not good enough, whatever level. Having seen him play a lot, I struggle to see him becoming an effective winger. For me he is the ideal 70 mins sub, stretching teams and causing havoc on the counter. But when he is starting, I just dont see anything that makes him live up to the hype. A player needs to have something in him, something undescribablle, smartness, got a footballing brain, quick actions, descisiveness, know how to play your teammates good, etc. This is something coaches can never teach you, and in Redmond''s case, I think a lot of these attributes are missing. For 9 mill or better, I''d sell. I also think Conor McGrindle is bought as an insurance in case Redmond leaves.
4 assists in 28 starts is better than most, bet you wouldn''t sell wes when he has the same ratio!
7. Every player doesn''t have his price yes £9m for Redmond would be a grey deal for us but at the same time Who would we replace him with (Josh Murphy isn''t good enough YET don''t care what people say he did nothing yesterday and looked lost) His final ball is somtimes woeful however take him out the squad yesterday and that goal wouldn''t have been scored he''s one of our best players and to let him go would spell te end of our promotion fight in my opinion
8. We had the first half in compleat controle until we got complacent Bournemouth where passing the ball about the pitch not really causing any issues then when they did decide to get it forward we didn''t know what to do resulting in their goal. Second half we where sloppy and it was generally a scrappy half. All in all 10 points from 5 games I am happy, you need to average roughly 2 points a game to get promoted from this league and currently we are their and long may it continue.
9. The main problem we have is the way the midfield set up with lafferty, wes & Redmond almost central leaving both out "wing backs" exposed, have noticed this since pre season.
10.
What''s 0.7 dribbles completed please? Is it 70% completed? Is it less than 1 completed? Is it less than 1% completed
Out of the number of dribbles wes tries he compleated less than one
11. I''m talking about disposition not pass compleation as wes likes to steal the ball from under some ones nose then pass it back to them 3 ft away http://www.whoscored.com/Players/19541/History/Wes-Hoolahan Their are some stats for you the best season he had was the first prem season 25 games played 7 assists but only 0.7 dribbles compleated All in all for a "creative player" 67 games played with 13 assists doesn''t impress me especially When you take in to consideration that a defensive midfielder in Bradley Johnson has the same amount of assists granted having played more games.
12. Wow damn auto correct must check better befor I post! Overate our defenders* Struggles to tackle*
13. I am over the moon with the three league wins in a row with a cup game game making it 4 wins in a row in all competitions it''s a stark contrast on that performance at wolves. however I can still think of a couple of overrated players. Hoolahan - just because he can do a fancy 360 spin on the ball doesn''t make him brillian with the fact he will then loose the ball after he does his fancy turn. Fans have been getting in Redmond''s back for his final ball but wes has been the biggest culprit for the last 3 seasons hence why he always try''s the short corners e.t.c Turner - we seem to love to overage our defenders from Garry Doherty to Micheal Nelson, Turner struggles to Halle without pulling and pushing his man, his clearances are woeful with his 50p head and feet. R.Bennet - again another overrated defender, this "up and coming talent" clearly only lambert thought this when he first bought him as the 2 managers we have had since clearly see his true talent and isn''t good enough.
14. This would be my XI, Howson was in contention against Ipswich wasn''t he? I would give him at least 45 minuets for some muh needed game time. Yes bassong had a bit of a mare last season but you don''t get rubbish over night and what ever Adams and co have against bassong needs to be put to one side because if we have him on the books in my opinion he should be used. And the same applies with Becchio and would be a good game for him to come into.
15. their is a thread on thier about mick and some one siad: "Our fans are notoriously loyal" Really?! couldnt even sell out a derby game!
16. I''m with you 100% I never asked for him to go but at the same time I honestly didn''t want him as our manager but like I said with Hughton if he proves me wrong I will be immensely happy. And if things continue to improve I will be even happier OTBC
17. He''s a class act and what we missed last season, yes he missed 2 that he should have buried today and he knows it at the end of the day we have a decent striker that''s scoring goals!!
18. Can''t belive redone still getting stick, he had a good final ball today and found many good passes, he''s been solid last 3 games now lay off the kid
19. Reading interested in hooper aparently
20. Is Garrido fit for tomorrow? Havnt seen any update bit of a worry for LB if not
21. Would have Howson in the squad over Hoolahan any day.
22. Good job really starting to get a bit thin in defenders right now
