I am clearing my attic before an upcoming house-move, and I have a quantity of programs (1970''s -1990''s mainly, mostly home, some away). Also some NCFC fanzines from back in the day.FREE to anyone that wants them. Also is anyone interested in sharing a season ticket? It looks like I am going to miss a number of games next season - particularly midweek or games that are moved for SKY or whatever. Please PM me if interested on either score.

No wonder this football club is in trouble

WELL SAID CURIOUS CANARY! I wasn''t sure which way to vote but if Delia Smith is in favour of staying in then OUT looks the right way to go! -
How can Alex Neil keep his job?
Levi Stubbs replied to pete's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well the board clearly aren''t going anywhere, and results don''t matter, so yeah let''s keep the manager too! Are the board laughing at how dense some of the Norwich fans are? Are they sitting in Carrow Towers saying "christ, 1 point from 27 and so many want to keep the manager". "We could oversee the worst run of results in the history of this club, not only are they not calling for our heads, but quite a few still want to keep the manager" "We''ve hoodwinked them into believing al this stuff about nobody interested in investing, scared them into thinking that most external and all foreign investment ends in tears." Fooled them into being so sentimental towards the manager that even if we didn''t win again this season that they still wouldn''t call for his head and despite not having won for 20 games, to still have some convinced that Alex will miraculoisly turn it around and we''ll be winning every week in the Championship". "When things started going wrong, we sewed little seeds, planted litted tidbits about how poor we are, that by just being in the Premier League we are massively overachieving and not only can we not compete with the likes of Bournemouth and Watford financially, we''d struggle to do much better than Lowestoft Town" "We''ve got these foolish fans into such a state that we''ve even come out and blatantly told them that the reason we can''t compete is because our owners are some of the poorest in the whole football league, so they accept failure and defeats, they don''t call for a change of ownership because we have them scared about the perils of external investment and foreign ownership, they therefore accept poor results and failure on the footballing side". "We''ve even got some fans into such a state that they don''t question or blame either the manager or us". ????? Of course not!
Perfect summary of the situation!!!! -

Im not inventing any injuries, im creating a scenario that will happen at some point before January. It will be a miricle if we go from now till then with everyone fit or eligble to start. 3 center backs are not enough and i would imagine that Neil allowed Turner to leave on the understanding another was coming in. Why that didnt happen is anyones guess
What are these center backs you talk of. Do you mean centre backs ? Footballers who play in the middle, the centre, of the defense,
Do you mean defence? [;)]

Surely there should be a minutes silence at the game on Saturday? (or how about a two minutes silence - 1 for Cilla Black?) [;)]
-
I think there should be a minutes silence at the last game of every season to remember all football people who have died in that season
You''ve got a bit of a ''thing'' about minutes silence''s haven''t you Paul?

In the Forum? Right, must get those invites out to the travelling support to join us down there after the game then...
Binners is a far better name for them than zombies, it is unique, it has humour, and it conjures up the sense of cheapness and grubbiness that has been associated with them for the last few years.
Nah, disagree. It''s like an insult a bunch of kids at middle school might hurl at each other in the 1960''s..

Yes Bor. It has ultimately backfired and thats the whole point I was making, ergo thats why I think it WOULD be appropriate!!! Still if you want to be ''decent'' towards them....Where will we be able to get these ''earliest editions of the Pink ''Un'' btw? [:^)]

Plastic Clappers for Derby Day!!!
Levi Stubbs replied to ncfcfaithful's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
No wonder your name is Tumbleweed! [:$] Weren''t they ''issued'' at the WBA game last season? didn''t win that one as I recall... (though Hughton did get one on the back of the ''ead son...)They might not have been clappers, but something similar and unnecessary, can''t quite recall. -
Would it not be entirely appropriate to wave money at the ''zombies'' on Sunday? Your thoughts please...(For those that don''t know, Bobby Robson no less, labelled the bluescum just that, for giving his side very little vocal support during a game at Poorman Rd.I think that is an entirely more satisfying term of endearment for them, rather than the totally lame ''Binners'' label that has been attached to them, since one episode of a second-rate tv program that hardly anybody watched in the early nineties...)

Just back from the farce of today
Levi Stubbs replied to E I E I E I O's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The acceptance of our fans to the garbage served up is nothing new, witness the standing ovation at the end of the Fulham 6-0 debacle! I could probably come up with many more examples prior to that also...Those are the same fans that claim that they are ''passionate ''about the club! If not giving two 3hits about the way your team is performing is called ''passion'', I must look up the word in that alternative dictionary... -
That could be an interpretation of what he said Molly yes, but that is not what it sounded like to me!

Try looking at the OP''s location smart Rs!
Do you have a chopper
-
And I''m telling you he said it TWICE on Radio Norfolk!
-
I can confirm that he said it TWICE in his interview on Radio Norfolk. Truly appalling, but just goes to show the complacent attitude that prevails through the management and board of the football club!!!!

Biggest car boot sale is at Arminghall, just outside the city near Lakenham. Its held on Wednesdays and Sundays but I don''t think it starts up until sometime in March or Easter. (Might be wrong about that but don''t think so...)
Sadly for me out...I agree with some of the points made here and in other threads re the board too.. Serious questions have to be asked of the Smiths, Bowkett, all of them in fact. Paul Lambert wasn''t a stupid man and knew what would happen under our dithering board... You could argue that perhaps they hung Hughton out to dry too.. it needed money to be spent in January... They let him get an unwell Jonas Gutierrez on loan... relegation meant he''d get the flack and they wouldnt...Barring Worthington (Who signed Huckerby and went up off the back of that) and Lambert its''s been nothing but a catalogue of disasters since the smiths took over... Rioch and Hamilton nearly ended in relegation, Holding onto Worthy for nearly 2 years too long after relegation from the premiership... Peter Grant, it was stated at the time he was a friend of Delias and Michaels... an old pals act... it was never going to work Glenn Roeder... Ripped the heart and soul out of us.. Bryan Gunn, a club man, a Norwich Man not just in terms of football but in terms of his personality in the city... A charity founder saving lives with Leukemia... Dropped into a job he was never ever going to refuse and never ever going to be able to do... yet again someone Delia and MWJ closely worked with and liked.. another "old boy" and friend... another failure..Paul Lambert was luck... and so was what he achieved to some extent.. he was impatient and wanted it all but "Prudence with Ambition" wouldn''t allow it... what might have been?we know what happened under Hughton.. and they made the same mistakes again.. waiting too long then going for the "club man" "Mr Norwich City" "local personality" and "Friend" to get them out of it.... All bought in by the same constant people...I feel sorry for Adams, out of his depth, but a good man and a good coach who I would hope would go back to the youth side if things didn’t work out.. but I don''t trust the board to get it right.. not now and not ever... Delia and MWJ are getting older... Fry isn''t a businessman and Phillips was only bought onto the board, in my opinion, to keep the local press "club Friendly" and report nothing negative. The time has come... don''t sell us out to a dodgy investor who''s intentions aren''t clear but do sell us to someone who understands football, maybe someone who''s a little bit of an Ar*ehole... waving scarves and cuddling the fans isn''t what we want Delia... Thank you for the good times, but go and enjoy a retirement...It''s time to let it go...
Excellent post Jas!

We''re only little ''ole Norwich Simmo... ''we cant hope to compete with clubs like er....oh any of them really because we''re only...er..[:$]"we don''t have the finances APART FROM PARACHUTE PAYMENTS" FFS!!! THATS A BIG BIG FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE OVER EVERYONE ELSE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP EXCEPT FOR CARDIFF AND FULHAM!!!Especially as we are free of external debt!!!!I knew the ''expectations are too high'' mantra was going to be trotted out as soon as relegation was confirmed and we started to wallow in this league.Who exactly is it that has the authority to set the bar where expectations should be I wonder..I despair of a lot of the Norwich support I really do...[:$]

Think I will join you in that Polar. He has attended only 1 AGM since he became a director, and even then he left after about half an hour.I would love to know how many board meetings he has attended and if any, what his input has been. Its not as if he has put any serious money into gaining his posistion on the board.Seems to me his only criteria in being a director ,is that he is one of Delia''s buddies.

Memories, memories....One of mine of the day was when our coach stopped somewhere on the A17 on the way up to Sheff, (Cheerio Cafe possibly?), along with other coaches. Although it was probably only about 10, many boys had been on the sauce started standing along, (and ON THE ROAD!!) clapping and cheering any vehicles that contained City fans.. there were one or two near misses and vehicles having to slam on the anchors needless to say...[:D][:D][:D]Those were the days indeed...
