  1. This year parachute payments will greatly benefit the EFL as 2 possibly 3 amounts will be redistributed.
  2. Maybe our natural position like others just happens to straddle two divisions.
  3. Bethnal - I think you are falling into the same trap. One could debate endlessly about the merits or otherwise of parachute payments but they were brought in for a reason and yes this season looks like a exception. We have been astute enough to use the payments wisely where others have not. We may or may not yo yo forever but to say it is purgatory or sucking the life out of the Championship is just nonsense.
  4. Agreed and my letter was edited slightly in that I did praise Alyson Rudd for her usual perceptive reporting but indicated that she probably had not seen many Championship games. My main point was that the Championship is a very competitive and exciting league and if yo yo is purgatory then I am all for it.
  5. You may not have seen Alyson Rudd’s article last Sunday in the Times re. Yo yo clubs and Norwich City in particular but I was so incensed that I had to reply and was so lucky that my reply was printed today. I have tried in my clumsy way to reproduce both items for you to share and I hope it had worked and if anyone else feels like writing please do so
  6. I thought it automatically went to the Championship.
  7. We don’t seem able to beat the ex pl teams. It shows the minimum standard we need to progress.
  8. Surely there will be no restrictions in August as everyone who wants/needs a jab will have had one.
  9. Surely there is a middle way where we can consolidate where we are and gradually build for the future eg further improve the academy, increase the ground capacity and hospitality and even invite an investor or two who do not want ownership but a share in the clubs success within the present model. I love the top 26 aspiration but do worry about the end of the Delia era but I an sure any continuity plan will be built in to her successor, even if we become a fan owned club where we all have a stake.
  10. Where is the money coming from? No season ticket renewals as we are all on carry forward. COVID losses. No immediate PL cash.Do we have a money tree?
  11. Will this reignite a debate about our own funding model?
  12. Do away with offside. It worked for hockey when they changed it.
  13. The potential demand has always been underestimated and if extra seating ever became available I would guess at least 5000 would be snapped up.
  14. Being a 16-26 team the problem will arise if parachute payments are scrapped.
  15. Who will be the first to blink!
  16. We easily raised the money for the academy upgrade so probably should have done the same during the pandemic.
  17. In the PL. we are a small fish in a big pond. We need to increase our stadium size to at least 40000 and continue development of our academy. Without outside funding we will always be in the 16-26 range with maybe the odd season outside that either way. However I am not pushing for a change of owner as our model works for us but we could when funds permit gradually improve the infrastructure.
  18. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
  19. My thoughts entirely - whilst we strive to be top 26 our realistic range is probably 16-26. So need to be at the top of that range.
  20. Happy to yo yo with perhaps longer intervals at the top level.
