1.

Has anyone got a link to some highlights from this game...god knows why, but I''d like to watch those decisions again.
You might find a really old clip on skysports.com, or youtube? If you don''t remember it then this sums is up...

    Bright start by Norwich...

Tranmere get a corner, ball comes in, cleared off the line by Rusty, ref says play on, but the linesman who is on the far left hand side of the box gives a penalty, despite having to see that through about 15 players, and being on the other side of the pitch... Tranmere score pen.

Doc does a disaster backpass, some bellend gets onto it, flicks it past Frazer, goes down.. Pen & red card to Forster. I still personally think he could have stayed up, and he threw himself over Frazer.

Corner comes in, player on his own at the backpost, puts his hand up in the air to control it, then uses his hand to bring it down again, then smashes it into the net. The linesman that so clearly saw Rustys handball on the line through 15 players, doesn''t see this handball when he has a clear view, and it''s infront of him?

    3-0 Tranmere.

Holty gets through 1 on 1, should of gone down when going round goalie, but stays up, shot cleared off line.

Norwich score on roughly 65 mins (at a guess) think it was Holty.

Tranmere fans then start singing, that''s why we''re staying up............... [:|]

Yeah I remember all the decisions (unfortunately)!

I''ve tried youtube, doesn''t seem to be anything on there surprisingly, the closest I got was BBC, but then when I tried to play the video it said something about being out of date. Oh well, probably for the best!

  2. I''m not being funny, but the amount of people I see who just walk straight onto the road without even looking to see if there might just happen to be a car driving on the ROAD!

There is pedestrian crossings down at the Morrisons end of Carrow Road and an Island in the middle of the road towards the bridge, I know it’s stupid to expect 25,000 people to use a couple of crossing, but a little bit of common sense wouldn’t go a miss.

The people who just walk out onto the road always seem to think that they’re in the right. I’m sorry, but if I started driving down the pavement I’d be expecting pedestrians to shout abuse at me!

  3.
Gutted, despite his inconsistency he was one of my favourite players.
Me too Barclay man, can''t really explain why...maybe it''s because when he was good he was really good, but when he was bad (99% of the time) he was REALLY bad.

Just feel there was a really good player lurking in him somewhere but never really showed it.

  4. Yep...me too. Drury was a bit fortunate really. From where I was I couldn''t see what Melligan did, but Drury definitely went in 2 footed. The lino was signalling for a foul on Melligan as well but the ref must have thought he had a better view of the incident. It makes a change to have a ref who''s willing to be brave enough to stick to his guns!

  5.
Wiz you say in the grand scheme of things last night wasn''t worth a lot... I am in total disagreement, last night was worth a hell of a lot. Would you rather go to Exeter on the back of a 4-0 DEFEAT with the fans still in uproar, or would you rather go to Exeter on the back of a 4-0 cruise controlled victory, away from home, against someone in the same division as us? Last night vital Wiz, vital to raise team spirits and put last week behind us.
Probably not the most appropriate question to ask Wiz...he won''t know what to say...or if he does, expect him to change his mind again tomorrow (and then again the next day)

  6. Nothing should surprise me with you Wiz, but for some reason it still does.

Only 2 days ago you were willing for Yeovil to beat us, which I''m sure you''ve noticed they didn''t! And now, after a convincing away win, you''re a Norwich supporter again!

Just to let you know, a supporter should be someone who SUPPORTS the team win or lose. And definitely not someone who wants the opposition team to win, whatever the circumstances! Something which I feel you may still struggle with!

Wiz, correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it yourself who told everyone to give it 10 games before jumping to any conclusions on how our season would be? This of course is when people were optimistic about the coming season after our pre-season results. Therefore, just because we lost the opening game of the season (and I’m as angry and upset about this as anyone else), shouldn’t we give the team these 10 games to see if they can make amends? I’m pretty sure had we of won the opening game, you would have been telling people to “calm down, let’s not get carried away, it’s only one game out of 46 etc…” So why not the other away around?

Basically to want the team that you ‘SUPPORT’ ( in your case I use that word very loosely) to lose any game, no matter what your feelings towards the players, manager, coaching staff, directors or anyone else at the club, is just pathetic, childish and just makes you look like an attention seeking idiot!
Surely Slim, 1-7 and our worse home defeat ever! removes any pre planned deals on my part eh?
Well that''s your choice Wiz, but why not try getting behind the team for the next few games and see how things go? If after then things are the same (lets face it..,it can''t get any worse) then i''ll be with you! These are the times when the football club needs all the support it can get. It''s understandable that people are upset and angry after Saturday, but it is only 1 game so far.

  9.

personally i am moe exited about the 29th of june :D its my 17th Birthday,  i can learn to drive and stuff :P
My birthday too, though sadly much older than 17.  Have a good one!
Must be a good day for Birthdays as it''s mine too! Although I''ll be 23 so can''t do anything new!

  10. was a really good game. Norwich dominated the 1st half and while they weren''t as good in the 2nd half, were still the better of the two sides. We were very unlucky not to win the game in 90 minutes, after hitting the crossbar twice and having a few other good chances. Norwich''s goal was slightly fortunate, it was really a cross that ended up dipping under the bar. Not a lot could have been done about the equaliser, but it was a very rare Stoke attack.

Going into penaltys you felt it might go against Norwich, but then Rudd saved the first two and was steady enough to take Norwich''s last himself, and talk about saving the best till last. Two great penalty saves and one superbly taken spot kick!

  11.
so to make things clear as there seems to be a split divide can you stand up for?

    1. corner

    2. penalty

    3. goal

    4. freekick

    5. fast attack/goal chance?
Add Defending and midfield to that and you''ll be stading for the entire match!
You cant stand up at a football ground but its ok to stand on a packed train doing 80mph!!!

Ive checked out the legality of this with the railway Health & Safety.
I think you might be missing the point...how long have the FA run rail travel?

  12. I totally agree with you that some of the stewards are way over the top, but they are not guidelines, they are measures put in place for the crowd’s safety. Don''t get me wrong, I prefer to stand at matches, but stewards are told to follow these rules at all times. It''s a shame that some take it too far as in your case.

  13.
we have no need for  2 stadium operations managers, assistant or otherwise. many years ago the club had a group of good stewards (lets call them DA, JA, RG, RB, CE, JA) but eventually as they drifted away, disillusioned with stadium operation managers amongst other things, a number 2 was appointed because those afformentioned senior stewards had all left.
Leon is a funny bugger, and I would suggest the new man Mr Battley aint much better, just a cheaper option.
I think you''ve hit the nail on the head when you say that Mr Battley is just a cheaper option - hence the reason I believe Mr Blackburn may have decided to leave. Mr Battleys old role, which ''DA'' used to do part time (on Matchdays) was made a fulltime position a few years ago. Now from what I understand Mr Battley will take Mr Blackburns position and someone else (lets call him JP) will take up his old position but only on a matchday as it used to be.

What people don''t understand is the hard work and effort that these people put in to doing their job (even if it is only on a Matchday). They have to train and take exams to gain GNVQ''s so that the 25,000 people in the stadium can watch a game of football with as few problems as possible.

  14.

Don''t want to sound picky, but surely these are some of the best players over the last Decade as apposed to Centruy?

I think there would be a few more over the last 100 years.

"Best of the century so far..."

That will teach me to read the post properly next time [:$]
