  1. Does anyone get involved in this? I’m not usually bothered but Shed Seven have re-recorded their first album, Change Giver, and are releasing it on black and white vinyl. I’ll be heading to the Rough Trade record shop in Liverpool which opened today.

Whilst @KeiranShikari's description above is excellent, I think the simplest way to describe it is that he basically runs the academy.

I believe he has played a massive role in bringing through academy products into the first team in the last few years, which seem to have increased in terms of both quality and quantity.

On Football Manager, he is rated as one best Heads of Youth Development on the game, so he is clearly highly rated both inside and outside the club.

He leaves pretty big shoes to fill in a very important role.

Not sure where he's going, but maybe he has attracted interest from bigger clubs or wants a more senior role elsewhere?

I guess I won’t be able to tempt him to join my local club in the FM2020 save I’m doing at the moment-currently one league below the National Conference North/South after 4 promotions 🤣

Nah, as Sheffield is on that route and it is 3 and half from here to the Carra' without engineering works, so 5 hrs without works sounds right. Given when I went to the FA Cup match at Anfield my train went via Huddersfield because of the Hope Valley engineering works I think it might take nearer 7 ATM.

It would probably be quicker to go from Liverpool to Euston, hop on the tube to Liverpool Street then on to Norwich.

Last time I went to Norwich by train I was living in London. I missed my scheduled one at Liverpool Street due to delays on the tube, had to pay for another ticket, got abused by Ipswich fans, then everyone had to get off the train at Ipswich because a lorry had crashed into a bridge down the line. Had to cadge a lift off someone who had his car parked at Ipswich. We got there with about a minute to spare. I think it might have been the game against Palace where Simon Hooper disallowed Jerome’s overhead goal.

Mr A, where would you to be coming from? I'm coming up by train from Bath and the ticket is £57.30 (senior railcard) and there's no engineering works either 😃

From Liverpool-it’s a 5 hour+ journey one way, no idea if that’s because of engineering works. The price is possibly so high because it’s short notice-Picking another random weekend I can get a return for £62-although there is only one ticket left for each trip, so once they go it’ll be more expensive.

I assume that is a observation rather than a criticism of Sainz as in football today it seems the modern trend is for players to play on the 'wrong' side to their favoured foot. This season has seen quite a few really good goals scored by players coming inside and scoring with curled shots at goal. There are quite a few class players who tend to play for their clubs on their 'wrong' side that invariably come inside;Grealish,Silva,Elliott,Kulusevski and Antony come to mind

Yeah, not a criticism of Sainz at all, he’s been excellent since he’s come into the team, but it was all a bit congested when he cut in on Saturday so Rowe was more dangerous.

Not surprised - it does seem you can nullify them, they created relatively few chances yesterday and have scored once in 3 games (two at home) after being a touch fortunate v Hull.

The final top 2 is still anyone’s guess - they all seem busy trying to bottle it and all have tough games remaining.

They all want a day out at Wembley 🤣

  7. Rowe offered something different to Sainz, he beat the defence on the outside at least twice whereas Sainz is always looking to come inside. He looked sharp and raised the fans as well.

As for Barnes, he was certainly appreciated at the game. He works well with Josh, and our excellent ran has been with both of them in the starting lineup. Who knows how it will work with Sara in his place-or anyone else for that matter. No need to change as far as I can see.

Bit weird though that at the press conference Sargent was unlikely to play at all, then ends up almost doing his first 90 minutes for months. Mind games, justification for a bad call or sheer incompetence? I guess we'll never know.

We got the win but not sure how you can say tactics were spot on when we could easily have been three down at half-time. The subs worked out for us, but that's not been a frequent occurrence this season.

As the saying goes, they could have played all night and they still wouldn’t have scored.

Maybe this belongs in the “too dull for conversation” thread, but for twenty years or more, I’ve been waking up in the night with headaches that seem to get worse lying down, so I’ve had to get up, take painkillers and wait for them to subside until I think I’ll be able to get back to sleep. They’ve steadily got worse over time and I’ve often ended up with migraines the next day.

One night I was miserably surfing the net and came across the term “hypnic headaches”. The cure for these, counter-intuitively, is to drink caffeine at bed. Since then I’ve had a strong cup of caffeinated tea at bedtime and have never had a similar headache. Weird but true. So no decaf for me!

I saw my ex-wife the other day-she’s 60 years old, never been remotely trendy but I noticed that she’d had a fairly unusual daith ear piercing-apparently it’s to help alleviate her migraines-possibly something to think about if you want an alternative to drinking coffee last thing at night?

Removed, huge apologies but I now know we are “like-minded people” as they used to say in the tabloids (although it always struck me as a euphemism for swinging or other odd hobbies, so maybe not).

No need to remove it, I wasn’t offended! There are a few establishments for ‘like-minded people’ near me 😳

I like that one from a loyalty perspective though I went to none of them.

The real naff issue though is that someone who went to 3 away games only and paid the £25 but doesn't have a season ticket gets priority over someone who went to 3 away games didn't pay the £25 but spends their time and money going to Carrow Road with their season ticket. That is where the loyalty stress test manifestly fails.

Will you get a ticket for the home game?
