  1. Good job guys! Genuinely was a fantastic atmosphere Saturday and makes me proud to be a city fan when the crowd react like that despite the defeat.
  2. Its all been pretty good for Norwich & Farke of late. Both in terms of results and the football being played. I wonder if threads like these are the last stand of those who can''t swallow their pride and admit they may have got it wrong with their negativity of late.
  3. Players performances levels can change season to season. I think its more of a case of noticing it more when the end of their contract is near "oh he''s only doing it for a new deal somewhere!" I don''t think its true at all. Klose isn''t the perfect centre back but I''ve never had reason to believe he''s not giving his best and i''ll never forget his passion when he scored that equaliser against Ipswich Mind you there was still 18 months on his deal back then, if that happened now I''d imagine his head would explode! ;-)
  4. From that article... "‘Ron really did mean business,’ Cross says. ‘I arrived early in his third season at Norwich. He had spent the first two getting together a young squad and getting rid of some older players. He signed young players from the lower leagues like Peter Silvester from Reading, myself from Rochdale, plus young players in First Division clubs’ reserves — Graham Paddon from Coventry and Doug Livermore from Liverpool." this is why I feel more people should be a patient with a young squad that has potential to improve year on year. The football wasn''t the best last season but we were at no real risk of relegation and it was always likely these same players would push on. Losing a player like Maddison is of course a loss but clubs are always more than just one player and with the right additions there''s no reason why big sales should hinder the club going forward.
  5. Don''t know what the official attendance will be but I''d be surprised if there was 10k in there by the looks of those empty seats
  6. Disagree could easily have scored first half when Pukki just missed out on getting on the end of Lewis’s cross and perhaps should have made it 3 at the end. Perhaps lacked a bit of cutting edge Still we were playing a team away who themselves are on good form and perhaps can consider ourselves lucky we didn’t concede a penalty late on. Other than we kept QPR at bay and they created little for the home side. I feel the ball could just hit Pukki and it would go in! Jk great having a striker who knows instinctively the positions to get in and where the goal is.
  7. Disagree that it was daylight robbery. So many players fail to make the step up and I think the money paid was about right for a player excelling at championship levels st the time. If he continues to play like this in the peen then of course his value will only increase again, just like £25m was so much more than what we paid Coventry for him. It’s just modern football.
  8. Fantastic. Means all the more seeing the likes of Aarons and Lewis looking solid along with Stiepermann and Pukki + Tettey showing he can be a commanding captain. Just great seeing it all come together and that we have competent options in the squad Against a strong team who were unbeaten and hadn''t conceded since the first game of the season - can''t complain!
  9. Sorry Lincoln but that attendance bit is simply untrue. Go back to our league one season 09/10 we averaged 24. 6k that season to Ipswich 20k in the league above. If you really believe we are on par with them then you are in a good position to capitalise as not many agree with you (nationwide) for example Norwich to be relegated most bookmakers are round the 9/1 mark currently. Compared with 1/50 to be relegated. Ipswich to stay up around 11/8 compared with 8/15 to go down With regards to the game Ipswich it always makes me laugh how a general consensus seems to be that "form goes out of the window in a derby" until of course we fail to beat them that is - in which case its suddenly a certain indicator that we are as bad as them.
  10. "the results were never ever this bad under Paul Lambert" Maybe not but the jeers I heard at the end of the matches when we drew 1-1 with both Preston and Doncaster at home back in the 2010/11 season were louder than anything I''ve heard at Norwich while under Farke. I remember Hoolahan getting stick for missing a pen in one of those too. (in fact people forget Wes got quite a bit of stick in his early years for us - perhaps we should tell Leitner not to worry) We had come up from league 1 the season before but while having a fantastic season had the gaul to draw against these mid table peons. my points is expectations will always rise as fast, if not faster than any club does and fans will always have things to jeer about. The club will progress regardless.
  11. I don''t spend too much time thinking about Ipswich but imo they are a team who could well be relegated this season where as I think we will comfortably avoid it. I also think with our recruitment in a young team who are for the most part holding their own we have a bright future and as long as we see improvement from season to season I''ll have little complaints. I think Ipswich have tried to the same but their recruitment seems to have been poor, we''ve had a few who haven''t worked out (Franke, Husband) but otherwise Im pleased with the signings we''ve made under Farke and Webber when you consider the value of them. Where as Ipswich have let go of their talisman in Waghorn and so far the replacements seem better suited to league 1 than here. Long way to go yet
  12. Nope. It was used at Stamford bridge in the FA cup last season. Mind you I do think the guy was asleep at the time!
  13. Everything has to start somewhere. Theres been many critics over the last few years so as far as I''m concerned fair play to anyone trying to improve the atmosphere and feeling around Carrow Road.
  14. I think if you were to take any club and look at any time period were you look at 10 signings made in a row there would always be 2-3 duds in there... if not more.. the simple fact is they get forgotten in the end. One that stands out to me (despite me forgetting his name) was a Scottish left back Lambert signed who was want away for most of our championship season but then suddenly happy to stick around after his promotion wage rise upon reaching the premier league (despite not playing) I think when you look at the amount of players we''ve signed recently we surely must expect a couple not to have worked out and when you consider that we are bringing in players on reduced wages (and like it or not often ability) it means signings will often be made based on potential. for me its the likes of RVW and Naismith that sadden me, massive money signings that did absolutely nothing for us in all their time here.
  15. "Personally, I think that sounds mysoginistic and stupid" interesting - I''ve not heard one mention on here or the article of pinks association with the female gender so not sure where the sexism is? If studies have found it to lower testosterone levels then no matter how frivolous you find it surely it is what it is. Would it have been fine if it had been grey or white but pink is off limits? Would black have been racist?
  16. I''m guessing the rule regarding yellow cards works both ways - players will no longer be able to pick up a 5th yellow card during a league match which is immediately followed by a cup game? Be sure to tell Tettey if so! ;-)
  17. "Still a decent return on the 250k Mick spent on him." maybe but if you by something for a tenner at a car boot sale that you later find out is worth a couple of grand your a fool if you then let it go for £100 I''m surprised they didn''t get 10 million for him tbh, not that I actually think he''s worth that but he was massive for them last season and I thought anyone wanting to make a move on him (especially at this last stage) would have been forced to pay over the odds. can''t say I''m sad that hasn''t happened of course!
  18. I think a points deduction would work. Even if the teams have since been promoted to the premier league just give it to them when they get relegated again (whether it takes a season or 10, most teams will go back down in the end) knowing their relegation will be followed by a 10 or 20 point deduction from the start will surely make every team think twice about spending their way out of the league surely?
  19. if you''re not one of the top 6 or 7 I imagine the odds of you becoming a championship team within the next 5 years are very low indeed, Stoke and WBA have finally dropped back down and as well as Burnley are doing right now their time will eventually come. Always annoys me when people say we wasted the premier league money and now find ourselves frantically having to cut costs. its going to be the same for every team who gets relegated. It will be the same again for us if we have a few more seasons in the premier league in the near future. With every consecutive season in the premier your costs rise (wages) to a level that won''t be sustainable upon your return to the championship. The only people who have an excuse for not knowing about the big money involved in the premier league these days are those down the road :)
  20. Have we ever colour coded our crest / shirt sponsered to match the away shirt colours? For example on a black and white away shirt having the sponser to be black and white as well so it’s not a mess of different colours. Pretty sure one of away kits recently had the aviva sponser in white instead of its usual colours.
  21. Thats entirely their choice I suppose. As long as we don''t have to keep hearing "I just want to play football" I won''t have any complaints.
  22. I haven''t been following this at all, so am even more confused than normal. Let me try to get this straight. Naismith has a year left on his contract with us and is being paid, say, 30K a year. He moves to Hearts on a three-year deal at, say, 10K a year. In that case we have a legal obligation to pay him 20K, and not less than that, for his first season at Hearts? if Norwich want to save 10k on wages then I''m sure Norwich can agree to pay the other 20k in the terms? Or do you mean we absolutely must pay the difference? That there is no possible way Naismith can move anywhere for less money WITHOUT us being forced to pay the difference? in that case then the answer is of course NO that''s not true (who thinks it is?) Simon Jordan was on Talksport talking about Sunderland or Villa saying these players will in all probability accept a pay cut at another club or just sit out their contracts at their current team.
