Pukki: Would love to see him stay but I think it only makes sense for both parties if we get promoted. Still a chance he gets a better offer abroad even then.

Onel: Even though it would probably be unpopular I wouldn't give him a new deal. He turns 30 in a couple of weeks so in principle I don't think we should be handing out contracts to players like that. We might be able to get him to sign a 1 year deal which I'd be more tempted by. If we get promoted then the wide areas will be an obvious priority and if we don't then we have a number of younger wingers who we need to start playing sooner or later.

Dowell: Definitely keep, still only 25 so we probably haven't seen his best yet but was excellent down the stretch in 20/21 and looks to be on the same path again. His floor is a top championship player, whether he will be good enough for the PL is another question but I would rather we find out here than letting someone else do so.

Sinani: Was a complete lottery ticket of a signing and we got close to turning a nice profit on him. Anything we get out of him is a bonus really. Similar to Onel, if in prem we need better and champs we can go with the young lads.

Hugill/Byram: No point at all in offering them deals.

Hayden: I would probably say no as he just hasn't had a big enough impact to make it worth signing him.

McGovern: Don't care either way, hard to really muster the energy over a 3rd choice keeper.

    I'm torn,

We couldn't have Teemu leading the line in the Premier League and I'm sure he'd want to spend his last few years playing week in week out.

Would be all for keeping him if we didn't go up, though not sure he'd appreciate that.

Jesus! You really didn't get it. THAT WAS MY BLOODY POINT!!! speculation DOESN'T constitute evidence.

Try reading it again and if you still don't get it there are books I can recommend.

Please, the one that explains how the use of capital letters increases your arguments validity.

Oh dear! I didn't make anything up at all, and absolutely didn't say that Cantwell has a mental health problem. I merely pointed out that if one is to consider speculation as providing evidence then one could equally speculate that the cause of Cantwell's problems are mental health issues. Clearly you didn't get the point I was making that speculation is precisely that, SPECULATION. Speculation doesn't constitute evidence, hence my suggestion that people are better off remaining silent until actual EVIDENCE arises (if it does) before they resort to abuse of player for something which may be entirely false.

What I'm hearing is that your bemoaning everyone else's speculation,

    Yet speculating yourself.

    With no EVIDENCE.

You think the multiple pages on Cantwell indicate this? Really? Several people called for others to lay off the abuse to no effect whatsoever.

And that is exactly my point. No one knows what has caused the problems for Cantwell and his loss of form, yet there are many on here confidently slagging him off for things for which they have no evidence. I have heard so many "insider" stories that are clearly nothing more than muckraking speculation that one has to wonder at the motives of those who spread them, and those who repeat them. For all anyone knows he has serious mental health issues (e.g. clinical depression) that might explain his loss of form. Until (if at all) there is clear evidence that explains what happened it would serve the best interests of all involved to keep quiet and move on. The club have clearly taken that approach and supporters would do well to follow their lead. If I was a young player contemplating a move to Norwich I would hardly be encouraged to come if I read the sort of abuse Cantwell has received.

What we do know is he has had four chances under four different managers and none of them want him....

Yep agree. Judging by Onel's improvement and very much you can see it in Max then it appears he is having an effect. Kenny McLean was also very assured today and Wagner has recently praised him.

He also made sure he pushed young Gibbs at the end to acknowledge the fans.

If Onel had a football brain, he'd be a £40 Million winger.

    Love his passion and athleticism

Is that goals and assists?   Didn’t he get 17 of each or close to it.   That’s 34 ish….

Now either way, your maths seems awry but that’s by the by…… you expose your limited knowledge and understanding if you rely solely on stats rather than what’s happening before you in a football match…. Stats offer an indicator of performance but not the full picture…. For example, they don’t show who creates the openings (the assist for the assist if you like), who penetrates defences, gets us in behind, who frightens opponents, makes them change tactics, formations, personnel etc…. (Man for man, 5 at the back for examples).    Invariably that was Emi responsible for all this!    There are other stats and details you haven’t factored in either, like ball recoveries, ability to press, influence on Max Aaron’s performances, he ain’t been the same since Emi left!   Need I go on!

    Yes please.

We’d spend all the money trying to compete…. Come back down, embarrassed, fans disillusioned and frustrated, the football world fuming that yet again we couldn’t (they will taunt, wouldn’t) compete…with no money, disillusioned players and having not developed anything long-term!   We are currently in a vicious spiral and we need to get out of it, reset and go again!

How exactly would we be more attractive to the Americans?

You may be bored of the Buendia and Skipp debate, but it is fact, they absolutely got us promoted.     Without Buendia, Pukki would have been less productive and opponents would not have feared us in their attitudes and team set up!   Yes, Buendia did win us promotion, everything good went through him.   Skipp protected / shielded the defence.    The rest were competent because Farke had them playing a particular system that they had become used to and was difficult for opponents to deal with… we tired teams out!    Skipp was the spine, otherwise we haven’t had a spine for 5 plus years since we can’t seem to scout CDMs!

Top 2!   The gulf between top 2 and 20th in EPL is vast!   We aren’t ready.

We pissed the league with Tettey/Trybull doing the same job Skipp did.

Emi's a talent for sure but to suggest the two squads wouldn't have gone up, is ludicrous

i think the Opposite Say we stay down

the club is short of money

players leave out of contract and we are a mid table club in champs

i think he would be far cheaper for Americans to buy

they know if they invest what the club could be in the PL

Buying NCFC must be easier and cheaper without success ?

if we go up get sky money there would be no rush For Delia and MWJ to sell

Potentially you could be spot on,

However wouldn't they have just done that right away?

Delia an Co have seen how toxic the last year has been, at their ages would stomach be in it for another relegation?

The Prem is the gravy the Americans want.

And if we do go up?   Will we keep them, and what use will they be to us?   Probably leaving regardless!    Be intrigued how a promotion will pan out, any ideas?

Those left would not have achieved promotion (likely not even the playoffs), without Buendia!   Not to mention a decent CDM like Skipp, a position we’ve failed to fill on a permanent employed basis for over 5 seasons now!   Add that they have now had two tortuous EPL experiences the will for another must be drained!   Don’t delude yourself, this squad isn’t very good!

If we went up, undoubtedly we'd come straight back down with current the players/budget.

However we'd be a more attractive proposition for the Americans.

So bored of the Emi/Skipp stuff.

One player doesn't win you a Championship.

The core and spine of them teams that did are still here.

That should be enough to be completing for the Top2.
