1.
Said it at the time, and being proved correct by his top form at Brentford. lincoln canary (& Golden Coppel), the stats don''t seem to bear that out. The opinion on the Brentford forum is divided to say the least, mostly they find him a bit frustrating ...
Similar to Wes then.
 2.
We were mad to let Canos go.
Completely agree. Said it at the time, and being proved correct by his top form at Brentford.
 3. "With our average over the four league home games standing at 25,166 and if we can maintain this we will be having the income from over 10, 000 fans attending x 26 home games which is a massive cash advantage over poorly supported clubs like these." Indeed... my simplistic maths and assumptions make it around £7-8 millions in extra revenue. Reading have been punching above their weight for many years now. Traditionally more of a league one club, with their previous ground, Elm park, only holding about 13k. Still maintain that if we were in Ipswich''s current state, our attendances would be similar. Luckily we''re not, for now.
 4. First Game - 1993 - Norwich 1-2 Villa (Sutton) Since then I''ve enjoyed and pained many obscure experiences including; Eastons superb cross for the 3rd against wolves in the play off semi final in 2002, a Robbie Blake inspired 1-4 hammering to Bradofrd city the same season, A last minute Grant Holt winner at Scunthorpe in 2010..... I loved a Steen Needergard rocket, or a Marc Libbra last minute special......Maybe the Leon Mckenzie Portman road double is my favourite..... or a Huckerby stunning brum solo... perhaps it''s the Mulryne and McVeigh show at home to Grimsby on the opening day of 2002/03 season.... all better than the 1-2 home defeat to Preston with a Sean Gregan gaol from halfway in 2001.... or the hammering they gave us in 06 with Nugent running riot. Might be that Tartan blue N&P kit I owned in the late 90''s.... or the lovely navy Colmans kit in 200 with the florescent decals..... the one Bellamy wore in agony after being pole axed by Muscat..... Or even that Centenary kit which has MY NAME on... its gutting for you Piggy, but we do support the same club.

End of business.
lincoln''s posts are best described as "noise". The more worried he is that something good is happening at Carrow Road, the greater the volume of noise produced. Once you understand the mechanism, it''s easy to ignore. Quite useful actually, like a barometer [:D]
Noise? How ironic after this drivel.
If you could just bring yourself to give praise without the negative caveats, caveats which are often based on the flimsiest of ideas - you might be given more credibility.
LDC, you''re enjoying the ride on this bandwagon aren''t you. Your desperation to be accepted is contradicting you''re previous morals. You didn''t like it very much when Morty was around hammering you from pillar to post.... perhaps you should remember that before inconspicuously trolling. In any case, most of you''re fairy-tale narrative is beyond far fetched, and is certainly not credible. Still this forum benefits from all kinds.

 7.
Excellent from Cantwell and Vrancic late on. Leitner awful as usual, we move forward far more quickly without him.
Disagree... thought Leitner was very good for the first half hour. Always an option, and he good movement to always be available can get unoticed. Faded in the second half, and subsequently so did the team. Possibly proving how effective and important he is.
 8. Get in. Not brilliant by any stretch, and it is very frustrating this habit of sitting back after the break.. we were always going to concede, just like the Ipswich game. However, midweek, away from home, injury hit, and consecutive wins, we finally have a foundation to build on and it couldn’t have come at better time for Farke. Strangely, reminiscent of this time last year. We do need to find a way of maintaining control though.
 9. Decent away performance so far, great goal from Pukki. However, we do seem to be the architects of our downfall sometimes. We give the ball away in some dangerous position whilst trying to keep possession. I admire the way we try to play football, but sometimes a clip into the channels for Cantwell and Buendia is never a bad ball! Buendia looks class when on the ball, we need to involve him more.
 10.

As a newbie to this forum, I''ve recently seen several references to Lincoln being a Reading supporter but have obviously missed out as to why this is the case. So fill me in chaps! What''s the story? OTBC
He was found out yonks ago. He refutes it now, but given his constant negativity and seeming unwillingness to ever praise the club/team/players, even when things are going well, it kind of perpetuates the idea he isn''t fully "Norwich".
Lol.. you plonker, LSD.
 11.
What basis is there for stating that Marshall isn''t a right back? Or did you make it up Lincoln. When he was as played right midfield he was withdrawn because he was ineffective. Buendia replaced him and then influenced the game.
Yeah, just made it up Nutty. https://www.transfermarkt.com/ben-marshall/profil/spieler/118567 I think it’s quite common knowledge to any football fan with half a brain.
 12.

Disagree with Steipermann though. He was being asked to play out of postion at left back, and in the most it showed.
You clearly didn''t see him play last season then and are unaware he has spent quite a bit of his recent professional career before joining us at left back. At Brammall Lane last season he had the left side of the Sheff Utd attack in his pocket and performed well in that position, especially early season before he was injured. Plainly a player with something about him, as was obvious from the moment he arrived. He may not have had many chances to shine as an AM, but he has had less starts in his favoured position than Watkins did. Good on him though, great to see a player come good.
I guess Paddy Davitt didn’t watch him much last season either then? You know, the EDPs chief Norwich City correspondent.
 13. He’s not a right back though. So hard for him to have grasped his chance.
 14.
Marshall looks pretty decent to me when played wide, and I’m sure we haven’t quite seen the best of him yet - he’ll almost certainly get his chance again soon though, but Marley Watkins? Fully fledged Wales international? Eh? I did have to consult Wiki to confirm my suspicions, and sure enough he’s played a whopping 2 games since being called up in 2017, don’t even think they were starts either, hardly fully fledged! Nothing against the bloke, he was ok, but we have better now. I would agree with LDC that Stiepermann had some good performances at left back last season from what I saw (in the flesh) when he was required to play there, which to be fair, is not bad given he’s an AM by trade. He’s certainly a better left back than Marshall is a right back I feel.
Fair points in regard to Watkins international career, I was sure he had more call ups than that. Disagree with Steipermann though. He was being asked to play out of postion at left back, and in the most it showed. I think he got more credit as people knew he was being asked to do a job. Paddy on today’s podcast commented that Steipermann had done nothing previously and hadn’t shown anything to suggest he was capable of that performance Sat. So the chief Norwich City correspondent disagrees with you LDC. That’ll do for me.
 15.

Again, Watkins was successful at Barnsley and is proving so far successful at Bristol City. He''s also a fully fledged welsh international. I''m sure if he was that bad or is attitude wasn''t right this wouldn''t be the case. It''s laughable that you treat Farkes judgment with such high regard, when he''s so inexperienced and unproven. Anyway I''ll continue to watch the Ben Marshall situation with interest and hope he gets a fair chance in the not too distant future.
Or, I''ve got a stick and I''m not afraid to use it.
Yeah, didn''t really think of that. How very resourceful.
 16.

Putting Saturdays performance aside, Steipermann has been pretty poor and hasn''t demonstrated being up to it as you put it. However he''s not been shipped out, and instead been given more than his fair amount of chances.
Or "ignoring the most recent [and relevant] evidence, because that disagrees with me".
Oh right, one swallow makes a summer does it? Steipermann hasn''t been very good for us. I''ll let him put a few more performances in like Saturday before I change my opinion. I suppose you think Norwich will win the league now? According to your logic the most relevant evidence suggests that.
 17. Again, Watkins was successful at Barnsley and is proving so far successful at Bristol City. He''s also a fully fledged welsh international. 18.
And Watkins had plenty of chances to show something - and he didn''t.
No he didn''t. You can''t use an odd start or substitute appearance as evidence for plenty of chances. He was never given a decent run of games to settle. Some players need games to build form. Watkins falls into this category IMO. Farke didn''t rate Watkins, and clearly didn''t have the relationship like he does with Steipermann. On balance, I believe most managers would pick Watkins over Steipemann for championship football, and that''s the concern for me.
 19.

People will have different parameters for progress. And even the most staunch Farke fan will struggle to demonstrate tangible evidence for improvement.
Here is your evidence m''lud......1-0 versus the top side in the division with all players selected playing well. Definite improvement wouldn''t you say?
Didn''t we beat Boro 1-0 at home last season? Do we just forget all the stuff in-between then?
I am just going on this season - the squad has a completely different dynamic compared to last season with a whole new line up of attacking players. And this season has given us plenty of glimpses of what the squad is capable of, the issues at the back have been addressed and Saturday represented what we all want to see, a good team giving it out to and beating the form team of the division.
As I said, peoples parameters for progress are different. Some bordering on the ludicrous.

 21.

One of the many reasons why a player may excel at one club but not at another is the dynamic of the club he is at. A player may find himself lower in the pecking order at one club and thus feel under more pressure when on the pitch. A player that has grafted and won the love of the fans and playing at his best at one club, might find it harder to recreate that scenario at another. In Marshall''s case the proof of the pudding will be how he adapts to the new situation, how well he keeps his positivity and self-belief to work hard to be at his best again. Then, once on the pitch, maybe in a cup game, or on as a sub, to make it count. He is a good player, obviously, but he has to learn, adapt and then when he gets another chance be ready to take it. As others have said, if he isn''t up to that and can''t recreate his best form, he won''t stay long.
Putting Saturdays performance aside, Steipermann has been pretty poor and hasn''t demonstrated being up to it as you put it. However he''s not been shipped out, and instead been given more than his fair amount of chances.
I beg to differ, Stiepermann has always had something about him, put in some very good performances at left back last season and scored on one of the few occasions he was played further forward (think it was against Cardiff). That he is now beginning to show his best in his best position, he has proved my point, you arrive at a club, things may not work straight away but you adapt, work hard and then take your chance when it comes. That is what Marshall has to do.
I''m sure most will disagree with you. Steipermann has been completely ineffective on a number of occasions. Yet had far more opportunities'' than Watkins, for example. The difference is that the expectation on Watkins was huge in comparison. He needed a run of games, and never got it. So we''ll never know if he would have proved successful.
