1.
"You''ve got to be frightened to lose," What a statement in modern football, when 90% of footballers in the premiership would gladly jump ship for an extra 10K a week just to sit on the bench and watch! You have to love the man who buys players to play for the club, expects them to feel pain in losing, I just wonder if this could be installed into the Rooney''s of this world then England might just win something!
I can understand what you''re saying, however I truly believe that players such as Rooney etc do have that built into them. No player wants to go out and lose a game and I''m confident the majority of our England squad still have a hunger for the game and a desire to do well.In my opinion, the problem is thus; The emphasis the individual puts on their clubs outweighs the amount of pride they feel playing for England....And sure, money comes into it because these clubs pay their wages and they may have signed for said club as they wanted to play for said manager. They don''t have much power over who they play under in the England set-up.These high profile players see the kind of rewards available playing at the absolute top of the game and I think it distorts their grasp on reality......or something. [:)]
2. I am not going this evening, instead opting for Parma on Saturday so that I can drink beer beforehand in a park with WLTFO?!Should be ace.I''m thinking 9,756 in attendance tonight.Parma will obviously be more. The entire Jarrold is pretty much a sell out.
3. There are a lot of people moaning about this but, comparatively, its fairly affordable. I wonder if those people are the same ones who gave up their season tickets three or four years back? I gained an advantage from that and snapped one up. Glad I did now!
4. A daft thread because you''re assuming we''ll play a 4-4-2. I have seen us play in pretty much every single game under Lambert and am sure that he''ll play whatever formation he thinks will give us the best chance of beating the opposing teams stratgy. He''s already said that Pilkington won''t be thrown straight into the fray (not long back from an horrific injury) and I''d be hugely surprised if Hoolahan doesn''t start in the opening game. We love playing the diamond, and look a different team without Wes IMO.
5. I think Ruddy is a brilliant keeper and his passion for the team is without question. In fact, I''ve often said on here that his penalty save against Swansea was my moment of the season. I do have a little gripe though. I never feel confident about him when an opposing team get a free kick in a shooting position. His starting position never seems quite right, but that''s just my opinion. God knows what the stats are, it''s just something I''ve noticed. I''d be interested to know how many were scored against him last season actually.Regardless, I think we will be going in for another keeper. Ruddy needs competition. Whether it''ll be Forster or not is another matter. It could be a total surprise!
6. So, does this magic number of 7 players include loanees or not??I think it''s highly doubtful that this number of players is stringent. Unless, of course, Lambert is highly superstitious!Who knows what''ll happen but I''m quite excited! Would have liked to see CMS though if I''m honest. I hope I''m wrong, but I think he may just do quite well for his new employees.
7.
I couldn''t quite catch it but it sounded like Zwei und vierzig million Euro?!My German is poor,so does that sound right? Interesting anyway, cheers[Y]
Oh man... I hope not!!Literally translated, that means Forty Two Million Euro''s!!! Maybe you didn''t catch it entirely. I think it''s more likely they were saying 2.4 million euros, although that still appears too much!
8.
Long has scored 23 in 45 games in the Championship this season whereas CMS scored 10 in 43 last season in the same division.  Long is thus the better player IMO.
Not exactly the best formula for working out whether one player is better than another, or suited to Premier League football though is it?Earnshaw scored quite a few goals for us before his ill fated move to Derby. He scored 19 for us in the Champ then 1 for Derby in the top flight. It''s more of a case of the individual fitting into the team''s playing style. I believe CMS would compliment ours very well indeed!
9.

That''s my concern, with him being thrust into the shop window in these playoff games.... Fry will try and and create a bidding war just to be a tit. Look forward to watching the highlights tonight, he''s never really amazed me to be honest, but thats unfair based on a few minutes highlights per week. Did you watch all the match? if so, does he look capable of making the double step up?!
He works hard and scores masses of tap-ins in Div1 and scored 10 in 43 in the Championship two seasons ago. I''ve got a horrible feeling that we could be wasting quite a bit of money here.
Well, I would argue that CMS is the most in form striker in the lower divisions right now and would definitely make a good signing. Have you seen the amount of goals he scored in League Two? Not that many really. I think 8 in his first season and 12 the next. Hmmm...maybe the P''boro fans were thinking, ''he won''t cut it in League One''....Nope.....He then went on to help Posh get to the Championship by scoring 23 in the league that year.Ok, he didn''t have the best time when in the Champ but neither did a certain Grant Holt while at Nottingham Forest. We all know what happened to the great man in the next few years.....Strikers come in and out of form all the time. Look at Jackson for us this year. As soon as his confidence grew after his hat-trick against Scunthorpe he looked deadly. That''s something Lambert managed really well. He knew there were more goals in that game and gave Jackson his chance. I''m sure he''d get the best out of CMS.If we can get him for £2-3 million I think we would have pulled off a good bit of business. Proven Prem strikers come at a premium price, so why not get someone from a lower league whose confidence is high and can play a bit too?Whatever happens, I can''t bleedin'' wait!!!!
10. I agree that CMS is more of a Lambert type. I have been very impressed by him in the games I''ve seen him play. A non stop work rate, a bit of skill and can finish with either foot. He also shows great awareness when holding the ball up, regularly making the right decisions when looking for the lay off. I don''t think he knows the meaning of a lost cause either! To add to that, he would appear to be the ''hungry'' type of player that Lambert likes. He was working in a garden centre or something not long ago so would be desperate to prove himself. I don''t think he''ll score loads of goals in the Prem but, as someone else mentioned earlier, if him and Holt started up front then they would ensure that the opposing defenders had a tricky afternoon. Is it just me or does Long remind anybody else of a more ''finished'' version of Cody? Maybe it''s just his body shape and stature, but there are definite comparisons. I like Shane Long, a very good finisher, but I''m not sure he''s the sort of striker Lambert would go for. He also looks about 12. [;)]To conclude, I''d be happy with either, but I think the more realistic and potentially best option would be CMS.
11. Harry, PM me your details! These shirts are great! My dad owns a printing company in Hunstanton. They have t-shirt printing facilities that my sister looks after. I don''t know about imaging rights though!!
12.
Where would we be without these two???   Little & Large - so different in many ways but both absolute legends!!   Can we have a statue of these two outside Carrow Road if we go up??
I think it''s a lovely idea but have you ever heard the saying;''Why do only those evil live to see their own likeness in stone...??''Hmmm... It''s quite true, but not of everyone of course!
13. Oh, and I forgot to mention the Bristol City game when Coelho started off the chants of ''On the Ball City'' and fully milked it.It was the most rousing version I''ve ever encountered.....[:D]
14. Wow, there are a few that stick out for me.One of the best, and I''m surprised it hasn''t been mentioned, was Ruddy''s penalty save against Swansea. The Barclay went absolutely beserk and it was so important because we were hanging on at that point. Having been outplayed that game, then going on to win it 2-0 was a really special feeling.I also loved the home game against Leicester as it was such a cracker and had everything. I think I suffered about seven separate heart attacks! Amazing atmosphere, great goals and total action throughout. The Ipswich game was incredible, of course, but I think the best part was Holt''s ''tache. [;)]Here''s to more happy memories!
15.
I love to dream and all but are people on here really serious? We have some incredibly tough games coming up...there are no guarantees in this league so no one will be 2@ing Chelsea or Liverpool until Lambert says so!
Yeah, I agree with this. It''s best not to get too carried away. I certainly won''t be until it''s mathematical! We''re in a great position and have far exceeded expectations anyway. I guess sometimes Lambert and co must feel victims of their own success. Case in hand; booing when we get a DRAW at home to sides we''re "supposed" to beat.Anyhow, I digress. We have a fantastic chance and I guess it''s in our hands to an extent. You won''t hear Lambert say that, or any of the players though. They all know what they''ve got to and hopefully they can keep their cool and get there.By the way, I''m not a huge fan of Prem football. I mean, I''ll watch all football but I find the money and exposure involved quite abhorrent. I am, however, a fan of Norwich City FC and if this means our great club can bring in some much needed funds and receive parachute payments for 5 years or whatever it is then brilliant! Let''s go for it!I think the signings we''ve made are good ones and I''m looking forward to watching these guys play. Don''t know a lot about Pacheco, but I''ve seen Vokes play a few times and really liked the look of him at Bournemouth. I was thinking he''d be a good shout a couple of years back. Maybe he went to the Prem too early? Anyway. I think he''ll be decent enough for us.Let''s hope this extra fire power helps us get to where we want to be (from a monetary point of view at least [;)])
16.
I''ve kept quiet all weekend after reading posts about Wes attitude and Holt''s diving. Enough already. Do you remember those days under Grant and Roeder? Strikers that couldn''t score, rubbish defending and absolute crap week in and week out? It just appears that some of you will never be happy. Lambert refuses to come out and criticize but you lot just can''t wait. I suppose now that booing is frowned upon at CR you are doing it here. What ever Grant Holt and Wes decide to do is fine with me.. as long as they put in a 100%. Just leave it out and support your team.
This is totally spot on. I''m sick of it too. I''ll probably get called a "happy clapper" or something equally as daft but I have never thought it is ok to boo your own team. Sure, I''ve probably spewed my fair share of odious bile to naff loan players and some of our own (in darker days) but I sit right at the back of the Barclay so it''s inconsequential. They wouldn''t have been able to hear me, not with some of the more vocal fans who sit by me anyhow! Hell. Those guys can verbalise some real hateful jibes. But I''ve been quite content as of late.We have been simply magnificent and I never feel fearful that we won''t score or at least try under Lambert. The people who are saying you''re entitled to boo your team are right in a way and wrong in another. You pay to watch week in, week out so it''s fair to freely express your emotions. However, from a morale point of view, it''s wrong. It does nothing to help inspire our team, which invariably leads to bad feeling and high profile departures. Especially after prolonged exposure to negative vibes. Nobody wants that in their place of work afterall. I feel it has a knock on effect that is sometimes not considered.Anyhow, do what you will. I reckon I''m gong to enjoy some good football and clap. Happily (for now) [;)]
17. This was posted a while back dude, but I still think it''s an awesome article and well worth being further up the board! It''s clearly supposed to be a skewed take on the world and I love that satirical approach. Let''s not spark off the "Grant Holt; Fat?" debate again though!! Ha ha!
18. Having said all of that, I still think the original article was particularly hilarious. That''s a good website.
19. Ah, come on guys. It''s surely glandular!! Ha ha.Seriously though. There is no way Holt is fat. I think Lambert once said,"He''s a heavy set lad, has to watch what he eats!"So that may be an indication. Look at old Deano Ashton now he''s not playing. He''s got pretty big! But he was the best centre forward I''d seen at Norwich in a while. So, I think Holt has all the right attributes for his playing style and we''ve got the added bonus that he''s flippin awesome!
20. Firstly, we have absolutely no idea how much money has been spent on transfers so far. All the fees have been undisclosed, so how do you know that the board aren''t "backing" Lambert? I remember him coming out in the press when we were looking to sign Barnett and saying something like, "We need to make certain signings or accept mediocrity". WBA bought Barnett for something like 2.5 million, so I doubt he was exactly cheap. Maybe Lambert sees him as one of his "key" signings. I don''t blame him either. Barnett has been nothing short of astounding.Secondly, the interest in Bennett has been made patently clear. I would imagine Bennett would like to make the step up, hence the transfer request, but Poyet has said he doesn''t want to sell him and they''re not short of a few quid so don''t really need to. He is integral to Brighton''s plans and you can''t force a club to sell. Can you blame them? If one of our best players was snatched from under our noses, we''d be pretty miffed too.Thirdly, we have a fantastic player in Surman coming back from a lengthy spell on the sidelines and he will be like a new signing.I can''t say that I don''t want to see another player come in, as I feel we need a little extra push to maintain our position. But, as a fan who pays for a season ticket, I am unbelievably happy with what we''ve achieved this season. The team plays with utter passion and the spirit is clearly amazing. I think that goes a long way.
21. Ahhh.... Coehlo. Barbie. Archant Love in methinks. Jas??? Where are you?? (Delia style) Rob here, by the way [;)] Ps. There''s not some sort of internet code that means you can''t reveal peoples ''real'' identities is there??!!
22.
Both. If only one, it''s Fox for me. He''s earned his place and his performances would have to drop for Crofts to come back in at the base.
You would say that! Given that you have a man crush on Foxy!! [;)]Well, we''ve been playing both recently and doing pretty well hey? Although, our midfield is pretty choc full of decent quality and I''m sure Lansbury will be starting!Crofts, for me, is best utilised at the base of the diamond but Fox has been doing a fine job there in recent games.
23. He''s absolutely, positively, entirely, unfathomably rubbish. (Come on guys. Ssshh. We don''t want to alert managerless clubs...or, even worse, the National media!) [;)]
24. Fantastic Mr MacDonald.Best.Day.Ever.(Birthday weekend too) [:D]
25. A part of this artile referred to Brisbane wrapping up the Premiership and the Championship! Plus, they have named their trophy the "Premier Plate".Stuff like this really does give you a clue just how daft that league is![;)]
