1. Look, it''s pretty clear the majority of people aren''t happy with Gunns appointment, but a manager is only as good as the board backing him. Look at Kevin Blackwell. Gets Leeds relegated (who were poor and in turmoil), joins a club with some money to spend this season and reaches the playoff final. NCFC are as broke as a Dickensian orphan and thus we''ve seen shocking appointments of players and staff. Roeder didn''t help much and Grant totally screwed us by investing in a bunch of Scottish nobodies with virtually zero resale value. As football fans, we are fickle. If we''re top of league one by Christmas next season we''ll all be chanting Gunns name. I can''t see it happening, but I want to have some sort of optimism in my heart. Delia and co have completely over valued our club and rejected supposed "offers". They are never going to get anywhere near what they want for the club, especially now. So, we have to come to terms with the fact that Gunn is in charge, the board remain the same and all the anger and resentment we are feeling is not condusive to "supporting" a football team. The thing is, people say vote with your feet but I can''t see the loyal fans who post on here not going to watch games. Gods sake, we''re sitting in front of computers bitching!!! It''s faceless and pointless. We won''t get anywhere like this.
2.
Ali Gerba didnt play against us earlier in the season, i don''t recall MK Dons causing us too many problems to be honest, the fact is we didnt create a lot
Ah!! Didn''t he?? I must be thinking of someone else then. I thought we were outclassed by MK Dons to be honest. Not saying they looked like world beater or anything. We just sucked. Quite pathetic. All I remember is seeing Koroma go close with a header in the first half, then do some fancy step overs when he was offside in the second half. Oh, Croft went close at the end too, with a toe poke. The game was shocking, so apologies that I didn''t look at the MK dons line up thoroughly enough!! Wonder who it is I''m thinking of??!!
3. I was one of the unfortunates who travelled to MK Dons stadium when we played them (and got beaten 1-0) in the cup earlier this season.Ali Gerba caused our defence problems all night. Maybe a bit lightweight, but quite quick. Wilbrahams is the player I''d go for from MK dons though.
4. Ah, whoops, didn''t read the above post before I wrote my last comment!! Ok, I agree with an Inconvenient Truth being a total crock of poo. I''m happy that she is his "ex-wife"
5. Hmmm...Evil Monkey....sounds familiar! Good bit of the old Lonesome Crowded West you''ve got there....nice.Yeah, i think the point that Larry David was trying to make was that he didn''t follow the whole "eco-activists" comment. You know, why is being an eco-activist disgusting?? More to the point, how the hell can you relate a retort about eco-activists to a comment about a user name being disgusting?? Which it is, by the way.I wish Larry David was a Norwich fan. I''m sure he''s made a hell of a lot of money. Him and Stephen Fry on board would be a comedy masterclass to rival that of the football this season!!
6. Let''s get N''Guessan from League two Lincoln!! Would be a shoe in for the right hand side position which is soon to be vacated. Think he can play centrally too.Another player i was impressed by was Ben Davies of Shrewsbury. Good attacking player with decent set piece ability!
7. Well, let''s clear this up a bit. Clingan came to us from a LEAGUE ONE side. Alright, he''s been a reasonably consistent performer this season, but that hasn''t helped us to not get relegated. Hoolahan was plying his trade in league one 2 years ago. After Marshall and Croft, these are the two most likely to leave I think.Doc looks like a lower league defender to me, so too do Drury and Semmi, the latter of which was in league one with Crewe not so long ago. I think if people come in for our defenders they need their heads tested. I wish we could get them off our hands. Our team simply hasn''t been good enough and, as discussed on this board and through the glorious local media, the board have made shocking decisions. Instead of trying to bring players from lower leagues, desperate to prove their worth, we wasted money on fallen "stars". Players in the twilight of their career from ailing premiership clubs who quite clearly weren''t good enough. People plagued with injuries that wouldn''t get in any other team, but we thought we could get them at a "cut down" price. The only bright note to come out of this season was the signing of Cody MacDonald. At least he has potential, even if it hasn''t been realised yet. Knowing our luck he''ll score 15 goals by January and be sold. What i''m saying is our team this season had league one written all over it. I can''t help but not care and not be at all surprised if we sell the nucleus of our players. I''d like to rip up the foundations of the club and start again to be honest!!!
8. NORWICH CITY FC- 25,000 people can''t be wrong.....can they?
9. I love reading the Yellow and Green ''Un supplement on a monday. Regardless of whether I''ve been to the game or not, it''s often interesting to digest. However, and please excuse my pedantic nature, todays edition is littered with mistakes. Firstly, in the section concerning Arsenals win against Blackburn, it focusses on Arshavins contribution. Yes, he''s a great player but at least credit the guy with a picture that is actually of him!! These lot are positively foaming at the mouth with a glowing review of his skills, yet there''s a picture of Roman Pavlyuchenko in said review. Well, they''re both Russian granted, but Pav plays for SPURS!!!! Probably not the best faux pas to make. Then, in old Gedgeys column there''s a crowd picture on the back. I don''t know HOW many times the EDP and EEN have photographed the girl who paints her face up with city colours, along with the badge, and goes mental at every game. They should know by now that she is indeed of the female variety at least. Yet, because you can''t see her plaits in this picture, they refer to her as a "him". I''d be proper annoyed at that.I don''t have a journalism qualification, although I have written for the Evening News in the past. I reckon they should give me a go again and I''ll eradicate these mistakes!!!!Peace out.OTBC.
10. While perusing the pages of the Pink Un today I came across this topic and truly believed it was the beginning of a joke!!There hasn''t been a punchline yet.All I can say is that we''re in dire need of fresh faces. If you look at the amount of their own money they''ve put in over the years, it isn''t enough to buy one decent premiership striker. I''m not saying Norwich deserve to be in the premiership, but 17,000 season ticket renewals would suggest people still have faith. Although, I can''t see where it''s coming from. Possibly because us Norfolk types don''t have anything more exciting to do with our lives than wasting them at Carrow Road on a Saturday and Tuesday. This has been talked about over a trillion times, but when are the board and players going to start repaying the faith and hard earned cash we''ve pumped into their coffers?? It simply isn''t right and we deserve a hell of a lot more. The Championship is one tough league, because pretty much every team has the capability of beating one another, but I reckon league one will be harder. This spiralling descent almost seems purposeful. Like, if we''re in League One next season it may give them a chance to "restabilise". I don''t think so. Our half decent players will be sold off, we''ll appoint some other useless waste of space as a manager (i''m not talking about Gunny) and we''ll continue to bring in players on loan, culminating in massive agents fees, dwindling attendances and ultimately condemning ourselves to League One status for years to come. Mind you, at least we won''t have to play P''Boro or MK Dons!!!!
11.

I think you must have spent most of the game with your head stuck up your backside.  Cort is getting back to full fitness and proved over the last few games that he''s a genuinely good player.  As for saying that he won''t battle?!?!  He took a right kicking on Saturday with absolutely no help from a pathetic referee.  He fought for every high ball and must have been getting more than a little p''d off with carrying he Burnley defence piggy back most of the time.  Probably the most fouled man on the park and never gave up or gave an inch! No wonder hewas substitude before the end.  Also, he would have scored with a fantasic header under pressure had it not been for the best save I''ve seen this season.  As for you Beaker, you wouldn''t know a good footballer if he kicked you in the nuts.
Good post Scooby...Spoilt only by the mention of Huckerby..Get over it....Move on..
Erm, where?????
I think they''re referring to your signature, at the bottom of your post. But that''s there all the time, so I''m not sure the dig really worked or had any particular venom behind it!!I was at the game and I agree with the talk of bad substitutions. As the chap who sits behind me and I discussed, "Think what you like about Gunny, but his substitutions are always ineffective"That''s entirely true.Wes and Cort were our best players on the day and they got taken off far too early in my opinion. Ok, bringing Daley on was great for the lad and gave the crowd a boost. But, did anyone see him touch the ball?? I certainly didn''t. If we''d have had Cort on the pitch, he would have had more chance at winning the flick ons for Daley to utilise his pace. Unfortunately we bring on a striker who can''t score in the Scottish leagues, doesn''t seem very adept in the air and is totally short of match fitness. It''s folly I tell you! Wes was clearly unimpressed with being replaced by Bertrand and so he should have been. He played out of his skin and looked a threat the entire game. Bertrand probably should have started at left back. I''m guessing his injury kept him out. In my opinion Grounds is wasted there. He doesn''t have a clue how to get forward, despite being ok defensively, and surely a left back should overlap?? Nope, Grounds does not have the pace to get back. That would leave more room to exploit. The left of our defense is shaky at best, so''s the right come to think of it.If Gunny had included Carney in the line up, I could understand Hoolahan coming off. I''m sorry Bryan, but you need to start thinking about changing things up for the better. We lost all of our attacking threat on Saturday.
12. Midfield would HAVE to be thus;Hoolahan           Rusty            Clingan           CroftI don''t think Carney is up to full fitness yet and Wes is always a great player at home (especially after he''s had a rest)It''s likely this will be the midfield and I reckon Carney will get on with about 20 mins to play (depending on the scoreline at that time!!)Up front I''d say Cort and Cureton will start. I like the idea of playing Gow as an attacking central midfielder too. Scored goals from that position for Blackpool and if he can get stuck in in the centre of the park then that''s the type of player we''ve sorely missed. But would feel for Rusty if he were left out.Get Cody on the bench!!
13. I was in the lower barclay too, there was mass confusion indeed!! One of the guys who sits behind me was utterly ecstatic for one minute as he thought his bet was going to come off!! He had it down for Cureton.......Wes, you messed his bet up!! Brilliantly taken goal though, we were all pretty happy for him.
14. I hope he doesn''t go. He has lost a lot of weight and is performing well under Roeder. This season has been his best in a City shirt and I''d like to see it continue upwards. Seems like a nice, down to earth guy too. It would be a bloody shame if we lost him. Yeah, his crossing ability isn''t the best, but he always carries a threat. Plus, he is great at running with the ball from his own half. Which always helps to relieve pressure when we''re on the ropes. Get a contract done and lets hope that Crofty puts his heart into City!
15. I used to work in Delaneys when Aiden ran it and we got all of the players in, all of the time!! It would have probably been around the 04/05 season. The worst offenders were Mulryne and Brennan. Constantly drinking vodkas. They even used to chew these weird nicotine wads. I guess they didn''t want to be seen smoking! Ha Ha. I''ve also worked in HMV and served Lappin (whom I barely recognised due to a GIANT beard), Drury, Patto, Cureton and Otsemoboor who were all top guys. Semmy''s baby daughter was very cute! I tend not to go on about how they''re footballers to their face though! Tried to make them feel like regular dudes. Had many a chat about PES and Fifa. Cureton is a PES man. Ha HaBut, my favourite story is when I was working at Archant and saw Hucks come to pick up his promotion pictures. He parked his car in the Archant car park (which is free to visitors) and then proceeded to wander over the road and put some money in the machine on Rose Lane!! They''re too eager to throw cash away these footballers!Legends.
16. Yeah, there''s no way we''re selling players! It''s ridiculous to suggest. It''s been stated since the very beginning of this season that we haven''t got any cash and now the AGM has just backed up that statement. They always said if we were pushing for promotion (playoffs) we''d have money available. But, why would you sell a player who has started once at home and has a hell of a lot more to offer?? I don''t think anybody has actually put a bid in for Bell. It''s madness I tell you!! The others won''t go either. The people we''ve got on loan are good. If someone had said last year that we would be having a strike force that consisted of Lita, Sibierski and Lupoli I''d have laughed! It''s shrewd work I think. I mean, you could argue that the only ones who''ve had success are Lita, Bertrand or Kennedy but what would be the point?? The more players the better.I''m pissed off at our situation, but the Championship is so tight anything could happen. And yes, I do think 19th is an unflattering position for us. I''ve been to most home games this season and the only time I remember feeling really terrible was QPR and Blackpool. We''ve aquitted ourselves reasonably well otherwise. Away, however, that''s another story!!
17.
maybe he could send that Russian striker, and that Croatian winger, and that huddlebury bloke to make up. Funny how Gibbs looked OK for the Arse the other night but was not quite as good as Andy Hughes when he was here. How Dean Marney suddenly looks terrific for Hull and Bentley became an England player- do all loanees have a "leave ability in Thetford" clause written into the deals as well as a "pay wages even when so rubbish they have to be sent back" clause?
No, they just think that it''s alright to play like a bunch of r-tards trying to hump a door knob for Norwich, because us fans are used to losing. Yet we still turn up every week.Geee whizz.
18. Ha Ha!! Poor old Neil Adams, don''t you just hate people who talk over you?? Mind you, he deserves to get berated at times, seeing as though he has THE most boring voice in the world. I should think some people fall asleep whilst listening to his commentary. Why are we still paying him to do this????!!Barry seemed as thick as mince to be fair. I bet he''s been doing his nut recently though!! Seeing as Cureton seems to be permanently offside, when he plays. Look at the match reports in the Evening News etc. The section that outlines the teams stats shows the amount of times we''re caught offside. Often in double figures!"Asss jus'' nart roight!!!"
19. This thread is funny hey??!! As if the Turners would send an email round or get a "buzz" going that everyone at NCFC hates Roeder?? I tell you what, my housemates ex girlfriend is pretty high up at central trust and I know a bunch of other people who work there so I''ll ask them!Maybe, just maybe, they personally didn''t like him. Probably because he said "1.5 million. You might as well not bother??!!"But I doubt it.Roeder is respected by people in many facets of the game otherwise we wouldn''t have got loanees from teams like Arsenal or Chelsea. But, of course, Arsene Wenger, Arnesen and "big phil" aren''t really respected in football are they??Get a fu@%*ng clue IDIOT!
20. Thing is JC, even though your name does hint towards a certain "messiah" or "saviour" you aint changing anything!!Unless you have incredible political pull, or are in a job that deems you able to turn around a football club, I don''t think you have any right to lambaste people on this board. Of course, you are entitled to your opinions and so is everybody else. It''s utter nonsense to suggest that EVERY single Norwich City fan that posts on this board is in some part responsible for the goings on at Carrow Road. It''s pretty offensive too.Peter Cullums email address hey? Hmmm....let me guess,peter.cullum@towergate.co.uk??Close?!!
21.
Spot on, I feel that Glenn has worked wonders with what little he had available to him, on paper the team has a much more balanced look to it and if we can start converting the chances we are creating I don''t see why a top 6 finish is beyond us.
I agree with this statement. Sibierski would have been my choice of the names bandied about for a big man. Great work rate and excellent in the air. He can finish too. I think GR has kicked butt with the quite obviously paper thin budget.By the way Berkshire Canary, I see you have some Futurehead lyrics in your sign off. I know this isn''t a music forum, but can I take this opportunity to recommend you check out my friends band "this aint vegas". They''re from Sunderland and on Ross from the ''heads label. If you haven''t heard them you should!!Enough of that anyhow, let''s show the Championship what we''ve got. OTBC!!!
22.
The fact is this thread started off with the normal accusation or suggestion that Delia and Co have somehow swindled the fans and taken money from the sales of players. Where is the evidence? Just because we have not splashed millions on players that does not mean they have taken the money until someone has the evidence to back up the accusations this sniping at the board is pointless and only proves that many lack the brain cells to comprehend the cost of running the club.
I started this thread and didn''t accuse anyone of taking money. I would never do that as I''m not entirely privy to the clubs accounts. I love the club and if you bother to read my first post, I stated that I''m remaining positive. I just think the fans who spend their hard earned money week in and week out, some travelling miles to watch Norwich play, deserve to watch good football. I think we''ve made a good start to the season and have outclassed some teams without getting a result. But, even if we lose I would still be upbeat if we''d created chances etc. At least shown some passion and enthusiasm. Buying multi million pound players certainly doesn''t guarantee that. It''s just weird to see players go out for decent money and then kind of refusing to fill the gaps. Apart from the gap which was behind the away fans, where a hotel now resides!!
23. I agree that Ched was the turning point for Man City, but let''s not big him up too much!! A certain Mr Hughes might be reading this and then we''ll have zero chance of getting him on loan in January!!!! Ha Ha!It''s funny. I was watching the end of this game with my housemate and my friend Claire was here too. I explained about Ched being on loan here and she said "he''ll miss this penalty!" To which I replied, "Nah, check it out, it''s going straight in the top corner!"Wallop.I''m a freakin mind reader.
24. I think a lot of clubs run at a loss, or at least have a hefty debt. It appears our board won''t come forward with the cash for a "quality" target man. Hence the reason GR has had to rely on the loan market, his contacts in premiership football, and bosman transfers. Look at what happened when Grant came. We bought a few lower division Scottish players and some old favourites came back. So, it''s clear there was bog all cash for him to play with and he was a terrible manager without a clue to boot. At least Glen has got a few decent players in. Our squad looks better than it did. I''m sure they''ve put aside a few quid, but clubs want ridiculous money for players. Especially when they know the buying club is desperate.
25. Ashton; around 8 million, Greeno; around 2 million, Earnie; 3.5 million, Etuhu; 1.5 million and so on........we''ve laid out about 3 million in players since all these guys were sold.Sorry if this point has been raised before and please don''t think I''m disillusioned. I''ve actually remained quite positive about our season and will continue to do so. I''m just interested in what actually happened to the cash??!!! Hotels and restaurants don''t win titles!!
