Iversen will do the business in the Championship and if a club in our league tried to take him on loan to see if he could do the business, i think he would be very insulted and tell the club where to go.

With respect, you have not thought through your reply very well. There are always three sides to an acquisition, the two clubs and the player. The players objective is to ensure he gets the best pay he can for as long as he can. In this case the player may well want to come back to England but Norwich may not be his first choice or best payer. If, on the other hand, he is confident he can showcase his prowess for a few months and then see what is on offer in January this may well suit him. His current club may have less interest in this because they would be more interested in cash now, and also probably would not want to run the risk of injury if they intend to move him in January anyway.
Norwich, on the other hand, would not be the first or the last club to risk putting out a fairly significant sum on a transfer only to find the player does not fit into the style or culture of our team. If you scratch your head, you will probably be able to recall many situations where this has been the case (Shevchenko was a classic example ). Personally, from what I remember of watching him play a few times, I hope we sign him. I was simply postulating another view as to why things may have not gone smoothly to date.

Yes, i see your point, but Iversen has played in England for Spurs and Wolves so he knows the culture, game and language. He is not a "Dave Striker" type of foreign signing who was much more of a gamble.
Iversen and Norwich will have a pretty good idea of what they will be getting.

I think he might hang on till January for Iversen as he won''t want to bring in a striker he doesn''t particularly want or rate.

Rosenborg will not sell Iversen in this transfer window now following their victory tonight, we will have to wait untill Jan to sign him as Roeder i beleive will hang on and wait for him.
Without a target man we will have a mediocre or poor season, so in effect our season is now over in terms of having any hope of making the play offs.
All we have to look forward to now is mid table mediocrity or worse.
Boy and am i glad i am not a season ticket holder this year.

This is balls.
What some people don''t seem to realise is that when they here the word target man they automatically think of a big, immobile lump who has little skill and pace and who can only out muscle defenders and win headers. These people conjure up images of Iwan Roberts, Steve Howard, Dele Adebola, Mamidy Sadibe etc.
We don''t want one of those types of players.
What Roeder wants is a forward who can win balls in the air, put pressure on the centre backs and be a threat from set pieces. This player can have skill as well and play football on the ground and that is why Roeder is chasing Iversen.
Just because you play with a striker who has a bit of a prescence doesn''t mean that you are going to play hoof ball (which is what you are fearing) it just means that you have added an extra dimension to your play. Every team in English football needs this type of player or else you are too one dimensional and by that i mean that all you play is pretty, passing football which isn''t always enough.
Get over your irrational fears about hoof ball, as i guarantee you even when we do sign our big striker we will still play the majority of our football on the deck.

Exactly, we don''t have to get in a Iwan/Steve Howard type just a tallish player who is strong in the air and can give centre backs plenty to think about.
That is why Iversen would be perfect. He can also play with the ball at his feet and is still pretty mobile from what i have seen of him on clips this season off the Rosey site.
Helguson is very good as well but he is very injury prone so i would steer clear. In fact i think he is crocked at the moment and has been for some time.

Well personally i have always thought that Patty is a decent player, he just needed to sort his passing out. He is physical, gets stuck in and can tackle and does try to use the ball intelligently. I think that maybe his confidence has been low before and that he has now got it back.

He may well do that in the next couple of weeks, although he is Rosenborg through and through i think and he was born in Trondheim and i think his father was a Rosenborg legend.
However, Iversen knows that if he doesn''t take up our offer now it may be his last opportunity to play for a half decent English club as he will be 32 soon. So heres hoping he starts to kick up a fuss!

Well where i was sitting in the Jarrold stand on the half way line i had to at times put my fingers in my ears such was the general whining and whingeing.
I do get the impression that alot of people are just looking for the slightest excuse to have a moan. It reminds me of latter era of Worthingtons reign when i have to admit i was one of those looking to have a moan. I am not one of those at the moment though.

Actually Svensson was not that good in the air. Sure when a cross was put into the box he could thump a decent header into the back of the net but when the ball was kicked out from goal kicks etc he hardly ever got his head on the ball, a leaping salmon springs to mind, but still thought he was a very clever player.

The thing with Drury is that i don''t think he would fit into our new team. The days of hoofing appear to thankfully be over as we are playing a neat pass and move game. Whilst Adam is competent defensively he is imo one of the worst hoofers we have had at NCFC in recent years. He would not fit into Roeders team.
