1. I remember Darel Russell running through practically the entire Manchester City team in a game about ten years ago, only to blast over the bar with only the keeper to beat. That would have been a stunner.
 2. I remember the Screen Sport Super Cup well - it was supposed to be a consolation cup for the clubs banned from Europe but it never took off. I do recall we gave both Man Utd and Liverpool a run for their money.
 3.

Think yourselves lucky that Duncan Forbes doesn''t still run Club Canary! I remember in the 80s when latecomers used to get the hairdryer treatment from Big Dunc!!! [:D]
Ye Gods, didn''t he just? I remember one Club Canary trip up to Coventry, he was bending everyones lughole about Ross Jack all the way there (shows how long ago this was!), we lost 2-0 (Mark Hateley one of the scorers) and then, on the way back, he didn''t want to stop anywhere for fish and chips! He was a good laugh though!
I remember once he leaned out of the coach door to give some stick to a motorist who was blocking the road near Chelsea''s ground - Dunc was so affronted that this man had dared to hold up HIS coach! [:D]Although he didn''t suffer fools gladly, he was generally friendly and approachable and didn''t put on any airs despite all he''d achieved as a player. I was quite sad when he left the Club Canary job to become a scout!

 5.

Scunthorpe did this last year I think but lost the jpt trophy to Luton
So we''d be following in Scunthorpe''s footsteps, eh? Hmmm..... OTBC
I''d be perfectly happy if we did what they did ie lose the JPT final but win the play-offs!
 6.

I have heard that in the early days of Kevin Keelans stay at Norwich, the players were so poorly paid that some of them took on jobs during the summer to make ends meet and that he was one of them. Can anyone confirm this ? maybe some of you even worked with him , it would be interesting to confirm that this practice carried on as late as the 60''s as I know that it was true of much earlier times.
I think he had his own clothes boutique in Norwich for a time, called ''Mr Keelan''. Wonder what happened to that shop?!
You''re not wrong JR. '' Mr Keelan '' was near Barclays Bank in Anglia Square. Like most footballer''s forays into business it wasn''t a great success and was only trading for about 18 months. I remember walking past on several occasions and seeing Kevin in there chatting to the customers. Although he struggled to make a go of it - Anglia Square was a graveyard even then - he did secure one rather tasty commission in kitting out the entire team and management in those God-awful green velvet suits they wore at Wembley for the 1975 League Cup Final. I suppose with all the other '' crimes '' against good taste in progress at that time I recall they somehow slipped under the radar and consequently avoided prosecution........
Almost as bad as Liverpool''s infamous white suits for the 1996 Cup Final!! [:D]
 7. One of my favourite Keelan memories is the 1972-73 Texaco Cup tie with Leicester. With the scores tied in the second leg at Carrow Road it went to penalties and Keelan became the hero of the hour, first saving a penalty and then stepping up to score the winning penalty himself! [:D] Does anyone else remember this game?

 9. Ah yes - Keelan! Remember him well as he was City''s goalkeeper for the first ten years of my time as a supporter. His last game was the famous 5-3 defeat by Liverpool in 1980 (yes the same match in which Justin Fashanu scored his goal of the season). He would almost certainly have been linked with a move several times nowadays, but in his day there were far fewer agents and less incentive to move. Players would often stay at the same club for years. The Leeds game referred to earlier was in the 1978-79 season - Keelan threw the ball down in a temper and John Hawley nipped in to score! Fortunately Martin Peters equalised and the game was drawn 2-2.
 10. I''m sure that every single City fan who went to Portman Road last April (myself included) and had to endure the "Going down going down" taunts of the Town supporters before and after the game will be laughing out loud at their current precidament! [:D]
 11. I really don''t think Kaka could have done more for Man City than Bellars did today if he had been playing. Absolutely superb finishing - I''ve still got a soft spot for him having watched him at Carrow Road when he was a teenager.
 12. I have a feeling that unofficially they give priority to people who tick the box asking if they are going on the supporters coaches!
 13. If he supports Liverpool why on earth was he getting so het up that he had to invade the pitch at Carrow Road?!!! [:^)]
 14. Can''t really imagine life without City. They are the only team I care about. If they didn''t exist then Norfolk really would be a football backwater, like Cornwall! I think I''d probably support a London side as it would be relatively easy to get there for games now and again. I''ve got a soft spot for West Ham.
 15. When Lee Power burst onto the scene with a flurry of goals in the early 90s we all thought he was going to be a big star. Whatever went wrong?
 16. Sorry - that was LEICESTER we beat on penalties - my mistake! But we did beat Dundee in the previous round on aggregate.
 17.

There was a competition called the Texaco trophy i think between Scottish and English sides in the 70''s, were we ever in that?
Texaco Cup 19731st Round1st leg 19/09/73 St Johnstone 0 - 2 Norwich City 2nd leg 03/10/73 Norwich City 1 - 0 St Johnstone 2nd Round 1st leg 23/10/73 Norwich City 2 - 0 Motherwell 2nd leg 06/11/73 Motherwell 0 - 1 Norwich City3rd Round - Knocked out by Burnley. Texaco Cup 1972Knocked out 3-2 on aggregate by Dundee in 1st roundWe also took part in the Anglo Scottish cup that ran from 1975-1981 and although we took part the first three years we never played a Scottish team or won a single game.
We actually beat Dundee on penalties in 72 - I remember Kevin Keelan saving a penalty and then scoring one! That was the season we reached the final but lost to Ipswich.
 18.
Well at least I made it to one on the top ten list - the Palace match.  Serves me right for being so young.  Was born after the Leicester match though - so can anyone telll us why this match, over any other, should have attracted the highest ever attendance at Carra Rudd.  Still seems slightly incongrous to me that the Foxes would have been such a big draw for a cup match which wasn''t even in the later rounds - was it well marketed or something - like entrance fee includes a free Bovril and packet of gum?
It was a sixth round tie - and to reach the sixth round of the cup was regarded as quite something in those days when the competition was actually regarded as the most prestigious in football. A place in the semi-final was at stake, hence the big crowd.
 19. If they do take over, does this mean that instead of Delia cookbooks they''ll be selling Escort and Men Only in the club shop? [:D]
 20. Yes it is a nice story, but sadly Best did not play at Carrow Road. Twice he pulled out at the last minute - before the game in Dec 72 which I already mentioned, and then Billy Steele''s testimonial in 79. In Dec 72 he played in all United''s league matches before the Carrow Road game but then infuriatingly went on one of his infamous "walkabouts" so City fans were denied sight of him on the hallowed turf. Ian Storey-Moore did play in that match though and looked a bit like Best. He scored the first goal in United''s 2-0 win I think.
 21. Sorry mate - your memory is playing tricks. Best and United never played at Carrow Road in the 1960s - in fact Best never played at Carrow Road at all. You may be thinking of City''s FA Cup win at Old Trafford in 1967, or United''s first ever First Division game at Carrow Road in December 1972 in which Bobby Charlton did play.
 22. One of the problems with Norwich is that people who have never been there assume it is as remote as say, Plymouth or Carlisle. They don''t realise it is only a couple of hours from London. No other country in the world would consider a town only two hours away from its capital to be "remote". In America, anywhere that near to New York is practically regarded as local to New Yorkers!!
 23. This happened to me at Anfield in 1989 when I saw City play there. In the warm up Mark Bowen hit me on the head with a shot when I wasnt looking - he thought it was very funny! I was more shocked than hurt so I let him off that time!!! [:D]
 24. I have suspected it was coming for a while now. Really gutted for him.
 25. I have always said that booing your own players is bang out of order. It just makes them lose even more confidence and is totally counter-productive. And Curo is one of those players who really loves playing for Norwich City, which makes it even more unfair. Of course I get frustrated just like everyone else when he misses chances but if the crowd are on his back it makes it even more likely he will miss the next one too.
