1. I had a similar thought actually- Nothing says "give me more transfer money" better than i have a job offer on the table, match it. Give me the funds to get us promoted. Unfortunatley i think i am being hugely optimistic. Time will tell. :(
2. interesting- IMO he has been brilliant all season, a cut above the rest of the midfield. All our players were poor the season before, so i''m not sure it''s fair to single rusty out- especially as he was playing up front for part of it. I expect him to be offered a contract, whether or not he signs it or not is another matter. There won''t be a shortage of suitors i''m sure...
3.

On serious note, despite being awful will Jon Otsemobor get one? He played a fair chunk of games.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong but don’t you have to play a minimum number of games (12 I think) Peter Crouch got one presented on the pitch when he returned to play us after are Championship title season
By sheer conincedence I has in fact made 12 league appearances  for Norwich this season. What an underserved medal that is!
While we all jump on the "we hate jon Otsemobor" bandwagon, i thought i''d point out that atleast Semmy was good going forward. Our current right-back can''t even do that! rubbish going forward, rubbish at defending... now if anyone doesn''t deserve a Winner''s Medal

5. There is absolutely no point in trying to sign Fraser. True he has been fantastic this year, but the one thing Norwich do consistently well is bring goalkeepers through from the youth team. The biggest mistake Peter Grant made was buying David Marshall for one million while we had Joe Lewis coming through. One Million that needed to be spent strengthening the outfield team. If Fraser comes on loan again, then its a fantastic piece of business, If we try and sign him long term it will really hamper our ability to bring in the depth we need to compete in the championship. Rather pick up a seasoned old keeper to help with Rudd''s development and play the odd game to take the pressure off. One million could be far better spent on a proven striker, a fast winger, or a new CB....or 2/3 of the above.
6. I have spent the season complaining about Michael Nelson for being too slow and an old fashioned hoofer. And admittedly he has had a few bad games. However he was absolutely quality yesterday, a fantastic effort. Mr Nelson- I apologise :)
7. yep, far too pricey i''m afraid. I''ve also got a sneaky feeling that Southampton are gonna sneak up through the play offs.
8. haha.... touché. I meant Looking over our shoulder after being well beaten by Tranmere and Orient, and struggling against Stockport. Perhaps after last night''s debarcle i just needed some PinkunForum-GroupTherapy :)
9. Agreed. We were absolutley awful. cannot think of one player who came out of the game with any credit. What makes it worse is that I can''t remember the last time we actually played well. Maybe the colchester game? Our earlier success was based on good passing football. we dominated the oppossition and didn''t look like we were going to lose. Since then we have lucked out with some late goals, and ground out some decent resuts. Even massive results, such as in the Leeds win, we were second best. We now look bereft of confidence and any flair. Our only hope now is that the points we picked up earier, and maybe some narrow wins in our next home games are enough to see us stagger over the finish line.... a sad position that we shouldn''t have been in.
10. Anyone know when us poor group 3-er''s find out whether we''ve been successfull? do we all find out after the ballot on April 5/6 or is that just the oversubscribed ones who missed out the first time...??
11. What an absolute disgrace that this is even being discussed- i feel like i am reading WACCOE :-(. WE were relegated from the championship after 2/3 very bad seasons and thoroughly deserve to be in league one. We have no divine right to be in the championship- or even the premiership (yawn) so if we are lucky enough to get promoted then of course it is something to be celebrated. It is attitudes like this that has kept Leeds in league one for the last two seasons and everyone else pleased about it. It is disrespectful to the teams in league one, the players/ coaches that have done fantastic for us this season, that havent played/managed at championship level (holt, lambert etc) that this would be the highlight of their careers so far. Not to mention that NCFC''s trophey cabinet is hardly brimming with silverwear. Where Mr lakey got the idea that we were Real-effing-Madrid i don''t know. IF we get promoted i will be celebrating, and dont see any reason why the club should not be rightly proud if the achievment.
12. Korey Smith surely?! Russell hasn''t improved he''s just finally playing in his favoured position, all though he certainly looks a revelation compared with Darrel Russell the centre forward. Hoolahan likewise looks better but he''s now had the entire formation built around him so he ought to. Korey Smith has come in and made the position his own and looks better and better every game. No doubt Doherty should be in with a shout too.
13.
I think we have seen what investing money in a keeper did with david marshall and not a forward I think forster has been exceptional, but because of his progression and contract with newcastle do not think he is our future we have two very capable goalkeepers on our books rudd and steer... these will be our keepers in the future hence if we go up and can''t get forster on loan, I would have no problem with a more seasoned pro nearing the end of his career in goal for a first season in the championship.
Excellent point. With limited resources, and goalkeepers being the only area of the youth-team from where we consistently bring through decent lads, money could be better spent elsewhere. If Grant had not spent the majority of our playing budget on Marshall, when we had Lewis coming through, and instead strengthened the outfield squad we might not have found ourself in the same position that we did. Better to get an old hand in on a short term contract while Rudd/Steer mature. Fraser has been quality for us, but is not a serious long term option imo.
14. Excellent news. Mcnally is exactly the sort of no-nonsense, hard-a*sed business man that Norwich have been needing for years. You just know that if this had happened under Doncaster there would have been days of silence followed by a half-hearted rebuttal. Mcnally is willing to take people on, and isn''t scared of bit of a legal battle aslong as he gets whats best for the club. he who dares and all that.. :-)
15. I don''t think he''ll be going anywhere. He''s always there or there abouts on the team sheet, and a good person to have on the bench. Good substitute for Martin, where as Oli, at 6ft and strong (according to the NCFC) would mean that we could actually take holt off for the last ten mins or so, rather than running him into the ground as we do at the moment...
16. To be honest, if i was a Burnley fan I''d be very dissapointed that PL was even mentioned for the vacant managers position. Fantastic run for us, but he has had no real managerial successes yet, unless you count guiding wycombe to a play-off semi final, and has never even managed in the Championship, let alone the Premiership. There are so many decent experienced managers without work, or "young, hungry" managers in the Championship, They''d surely be incensed  that the board didn''t go for someone with a better track record. If PL stays and guides us to promotion, then i imagine he will be pretty hard to keep hold of, but he is a massive gamble for a premiership club at the moment...
17. Touché Colufan. thanks for clearing that up.
18. Driving back from London last night I listened to the game on BBC Essex, where the pundits were talking about Tilson''s scouting report that had apparently dubbed Norwich the "best team in the division." Interesting stuff I thought and great to get some recognition. Having watched both Leeds and Charlton, I certainly think we play better stuff then them, but the table doesn''t lie- we will have to take more points off the top teams if we are to be serious contenders (primarily because noone else is!)
19. Best finisher at the club by a country mile. One of those frustrating strikers that drift in and out of games, but why would you even think of breaking up the 3 forward lads that contributed  +30 goals already?
20. It is sad to see everyone so pleased with this situation. I can''t believe anyone truely thinks that Michael Nelson is a better player than Doherty, just as i am sure no-one really thinks that WLY or Lappin are any better than Wes Hoolahan. This is about cost cutting- not getting rid of poor players and shows the dire financial situation we are in and an acceptance that we will probably be in the lower leagues for some time. This is not something to be happy about in my opinion, quite apart from the fact that we are pushing out a loyal (but unpopular) servant to the club. Best of luck for the future gary :-)
21. Yeah i think he''s done well here. Dug the board out of a hole after they ridiculously re-appointed gunn, and when the 7-1 defeat prove just how stupid the appoiuntment had been he didnt faff about making a decision. saw the evidence and moved. As for the appointment of paul lambert, I''m moderately pleased with it- a refreshing change from inexperienced no-hopers like gunny and grant... lets hope we put a few resultys together. :-)
22. leg-end! and the patience of a saint for dealing with half the lunatics on canary call!!!
23. i would still hazard a guess that administration would be less likely were we to get promoted, and a certainty were we to stay in league 1. contrary to the precedent set by non-league football
24. sounds about right to me. new man''s gotta be experienced and as far as is possible appealing to the fans, i would imagine he will be given any funds possible as the board are now forced to throw all their eggs in one basket. i just hope there is still enough left in the coffers to gamble with....
