1.

Orwell drink''n, baby eat''n, sister sleep''n never to be forgiven Judas C***! I feel quite strongly about this
Wow - and we wonder why football fans sometimes have such a bed reputation!! I don''t particularly like Marshall for joining Ipswich but lets face it the club were also to blame for letting him run down his contract. Admittedly he was within his rights to do so but we should have brought matters to a head 12 months before and tried to sell him. To my knowledge Marshall has never bad mouthed us in favour of Ipswich so now that he no longer plays for them I have no issue with him at all. I still vividly recall his first full start for us in the New Years day match v Newcastle in ''95.  It was a truly blinding performance, I have never seen a more impressive full debut before or since. We should remember that (and other performances) rather than petty local rivalry now that the guy is set to move into a coaching role with youngsters. I wish him well although judging by most previous Marshall posts I''ll probably be the only one!
Ahem, "Petty local rivalry".Pete, get him removed from the board.
 2. If they have that c-unit presenting it again then I for one will not be watching.
 3.
Gutted to be working through the game otherwise it would have been nice to meet some fellow Canary fans up here in enemy territory.
Is the citrus bar pool place still in Headingley (it was above a restaurant on the street that starts with Natwest on the corner and leading up to Headlingley Taps)? During my exile in Leeds we used to watch all televised prem games there and any of the Norwich televised away games (I still came to all home games).
 4.
end of thread
I can''t see any solid confirmation on their site or the BBC, so could be forgiven for asking the question.
 5. Well sorry if i''m stood here looking a bit stern at you all, but you''ve gone a bit overboard with these puns, I mean, to start with you''ve really pushed the boat out, but then towards the end of the thread you''ve been like fish out of water, really guys, reading this has taken the wind right out of my sails. Sorry.
 6. If you want to buy a DVD to support the club''s finances in the mean time, may I suggest this?http://www.deliaonline.com/Community/forum.html?forum_action=5&forum_forumid=17&forum_threadid=3763
 7.

It''s nice to see football message boards are the same the world over...http://pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?p=756476
That''s us fans though. Support different teams, yet all talk the same shyte! [:D]
all fans our the same. We all judge players on previous team message boards becasue thats easy and simple. And fans like easy and simple.
Oh I''m disappointed, I was hoping to read an insighful post about his abilities as a CB with some examples of Norwich greats who have turned out to be legends in a  new position like Sutton et al..
 8. Ruddy comes and collects through a crowd really well from the 3 pre-season games I''ve seen him in.
 9.

No need to worry. What has our previous teams, with previous managers against different teams got to do with tomorrow? Yes, it might be a bad start, but we will smash Watford!
I have a horrible feeling this thread/post will be brought up after Friday now lol.
You can guarantee that pommie, either way.
 10. ou:
So between two incidents (Leicester+Leeds) about 20 City fans are arrested and two from the opposition?!  Just who exactly were those 20 having an altercation with?  I know alot of the trouble at football matches is daft, but i`ve yet to see grown men pick a fight with thin air....Utterly ridiculous.
Two words for you: Ian Tomlinson. How can you be surprised at the actions of any organisation with that level of corruption, idiocy and disgrace?
 11.

I think it''s quite relevant when you consider the role that Nelson may play this season.
Nelson did fantastically well for us last season but he''s not a Championship level defender.  Too slow to turn, and too panicked with the ball at his feet.  He''ll do well against Coventry as defending hoofball is his game, but any subtlety will find him unstuck.
Agree 1,000,000%.In the air he will be comfy against all but the top few strikers in the division (Carrol last Saturday beat him i think every time but one)On the floor/facing his own goal/against pace/defending a tricky player with a turn or two in his armoury - no chance. His distribution has improved since his canary debut, but it''s still the worst in the entire squad by some distance.
 12.
Sky Sports News said yesterday that Tim Howard was set to start in goal against Norwich with a strong Everton line up... Fingers crossed they put a team out that will give us a true and honest work out! I''m not going but hope we play well and hope you all enjoy it!
I am hoping that the tempo and the passing will all be there from the Newc game, to reassure me that we truly do have a pattern worked out and a definite plan for how to break teams down when we don''t have our big bloke to knock the defence over available. I would snap your arm off for 2-2 (not in a pyscho killer way, in a ''i really would shake your hand to do the deal'' way) though if they really do put out a close to first team strength I can''t see anything other than a win for them.If they play a 50/50 strength team first and second half like ''castle, then we may well get a win or a draw, but then that will take a bit of the gloss off how great our performance was. If we lose to a near full strength European places-chasing Prem team, BUT still play the considerate structured passing game when we are in posession and manage to break them down a few times with a wezzer or surman ball picking the lock for simeon/superchris, then I think that would be every much as encouraging for the season and where we''re at preparation wise as beating 4 first teamers and some reserves.
 13.
Just plead insanity Brendo, you will get away with it![;)]
If they''re using your pinkun posts as the evidence, I think Butler''s right, "Diminished Reponsibility" is a VERY achieveable outcome for you [:)]
 14.
I''d swap 2 for having a settled side which can be kept together for a couple of seasons to give the stability needed for a proper promotion push. Sadly with the number of loanees we have I think this is unrealistic, but I think the benefits of a settled side are underestimated.
This guy/girl was something of a soothsayer... I''d like to hear Tumbleweed''s prediction for THIS season...
 15.
With the new season now just over a week away (I normally leave this until under a week away, but am off on holiday, so you lucky people get it early) I thought I''d share my thoughts on what the final league table would be. Please note, I do not have any crystal balls to refer to and delicately rub like some, nor do I make any attempt at humour in small, pointless pictures like others. If you''re here for either of those - best leave now. I should also point out, I am never right. So, here''s my final table 1. Middlesborough - Some superb signings this season coupled with keeping current stars, offloading wastes of space from last season and IMO the signing of last season in Barry Robson means I can''t really look past Boro for that top spot. 2. Reading - Since Brian McDermott took over, Reading have not looked back. Not particularly strengthened, but not lost any of their better players. I really think Reading will be the surprise of this season. 3. Nottingham Forest - Another strong team with some superb players and I think could push the top two very close. Have lost one key player, though, and rumours suggest the vultures are swooping for others too. Their season could depend on them keeping these players. 4. Bristol City - This is where I think the rest of the pack will fragment. I think the gap between third and fourth will be fairly large - but I think Bristol will be the team to fill it. I like Nicky Maynard is probably the best striker in this division. Yes, some would refer to Chopra, but I think Chopra has a better team around him. Maynard does it without the same level of support, and at his age I believe he''ll go on to be a good Premiership striker too. 5. Doncaster - My next surprise. Doncaster have strengthened very well with the signings of Billy Sharp and are still rumoured to be looking to bring Andy Keogh in on loan too. If they can reunite the Keogh - Sharp strike force that fired Scunthorpe so far, I think they''ll be one of the best strike duos in this division. 6. QPR - As much as I hate Neil Warnock, and as much as I think they lack a natural goalscorer, you cannot deny that Warnock gets his teams scoring and playing good football. I think QPR have some good players as well, and the signing of Paddy Kenny will prove to be a masterstroke in my eyes. 7. Leicester - Losing Nigel Pearson is a blow, but Sousa is an effective if somewhat ugly style of manager. I don''t, however, think they''ll get in the play offs. I also think under Sousa you''ll see a return to form of Steve Howard. 8. Burnley - I don''t mind Burnley. I''ve always admired them and thought they''re a good little side. But Brian Laws? Seriously, I don''t think he''s a capable manager whatsoever - and I would have a sneaky bet that he''s one of the first managers to get the boot. 9. Sheffield Utd - Another team with some good players but not a club I think are well organised. They have a big squad too, and I think they''ll struggle to keep everyone happy. They''ll want play offs but I think will miss it quite considerably. 10. Cardiff - I can see Cardiff losing Chopra and Whittingham - and when that happens I don''t think they''ll recover. For that reason, I''ve given them a relatively low finish. Well, low for their standards. 11. Preston - Another team I like and I think will do well; Darren Ferguson is a good manager at this level and I think with his own squad fashioned how he likes will do well. 12. Hull City - Hull will have an indifferent season, destroying some teams and looking like relegation fodder against others. I also don''t see where the goals will come from and I suspect the club will loose a few more players yet. 13. Norwich City - We won the league last season because we outscored everyone else. This season, I think you''ll see less goals scored, but less conceeded too. I think we''ll be more organised, play better, more imaginative football but be more thwarted by better defences. 14. Barnsley - Mark Robins is a superb manager and has made some superb signings IMO. Yes, the loss of Bogdanovic is a blow but I think you''ll see Barnsley grind a number of draws out. 15. Swansea - Another team with some good players but I think lack the team spirit and the goalscorer to really hit the heights of previous seasons. 16. Leeds - Stuttered over the line last season and I fully expect them to continue that stuttering form into this season - especially with the loss of top scorer Jermaine Beckford and Luciano Becchio apparently soon to follow. 17. Ipswich - So, you are Roy Keane. You end last season having had a much better second half of the season because you bring in a striker who scores goals. So, what is the first thing you do this season? Surely it must be sign a goalscoring striker? Nope - in Roy Keane''s case he signs a barely tested Sunderland Irish lad and a 34 year old Irish man from Cardiff. Oh - and let''s not forget the goalkeeper from, yes you guessed it, Sunderland. Sunderland Reserves FC will have a poor season and Keane will shortly follow Mr Laws out of the door, IMO. 18. Coventry - Aidy Hoofroyd is not a good manager, despite what Coventry fans are trying to convince themselves. The release of Clinton Morrison to be replaced by Clive Platt tells you all about where they''re going. Even the signing of Lee Carsley, a great capture for any team, will not help the problems they face. 19. Derby - Another team who I think are managed by a poor manager. I also don''t think they have really many good players in the team. I would be surprised if they managed to achieve much more than a low second half finish. 20. Millwall - I think Millwall are a good, strong team lead by an equally good manager, but they do suffer from a distinct lack of experienced, Championship players. I think they may struggle against the bigger teams but do better against those in and around them. I also think they''ll be a club whose away record seriously lets them down. 21. Crystal Palace - George Burley may be ex-scum, but I think he''s a good manager. Between appointing him and keeping Darren Ambrose, I think they may just sneak out of the relegation spots. 22. Scunthorpe - Sorry, Scunthorpe. I think you''ve had a good innings in this division and I think you have some good players too. But I just don''t see how you''ll survive in this division without Gary Hooper. 23. Watford - Another team I really like and managed by a manager we all know and like - but I think they are a fragile team who, with some bad luck and injuries, could really struggle. I don''t think they have a bad first eleven, but the depth to their squad is almost non-existant, and I struggle to see where the creative spark will come from. 24. Portsmouth - Just who exactly will they get to play for them? I simply can''t see how Pompey will be a competitive team in this division. So, that''s it - my predictions. And I''m sure I''ll be proven totally wrong over the season and Pompey will comfortably win the division. You heard it here first!
I think you mean we will score "fewer" goals and concede "fewer" goals.  Not that  the goals scored and conceded will be worse in quality or substance which is what you said. Nice post though I would have preferred some "pointless" humour.
 16.
Well he was captain at the Dagenham and Redbridge game.
Lappin that is, not Daley.I think Lappin (King of Spain) is definitely going to be kept out of the side by his classies compatriate Surman (Prince of Spain).
 17. Well he was captain at the Dagenham and Redbridge game.
 18.

Booo! A backward step and a kick in the teeth to REAL fans who actually bother to turn up to games. A victory for the morbidly obese fairweather bigrade. A sad day!
So people without the requisite money/ability to get time off work/house bound medical conditions for home games aren''t REAL fans then? Ok. Thanks for pointing that out.
* away games. Dammnit.

Is the reason they were all leaving is because they are fringe players or is it Clegg''s need to ''sell and cut the squad'' because you are skint (or in meltdown as you refer to it) ?Could the lack of money be because 3000 other farmhands don''t share your delusions and have not renewed their season tickets or could it be that after years of poncing of everyone else you are being made to pay your way for once ?I will conceded one thing though. Your ramshackle, shambles of a club will be challenging for the spot above relegation again this season. But if anyone else chooses to acknowledge this binner''s presence, they could maybe point out that replacing 15 human beings with 5 human beings, means you still have much fewer human beings. And if one of those human beings gets injured, one gets suspended, one is having an off-day, has a family tragedy etc. then you are relying on presumably youth human beings to replace them if you have 10 other senior professionals gone.

 23. Why are you lot not ignoring the cut? It won''t go away if you keep prodding at it. Simply ignore it, and it will disappear from your lives. This cut like all others WANTS you to interact with it, so that it has a reason to still be there, don''t understand why you''d want to encourage it.
 24. It''s like having a cut on the roof of your mouth.Extremely unpleasant. But if it''s completely ignored, it will go away. n.b. I chose the word "cut" over "sore" for a reason.
