1.
I doubt he will make much of a difference to be honest. I fear the inevitable "curse of the ex player" more - if Chris Brown plays you can bet he will score.
I am going to the game. I have never seen us win away, regularly we have snatched defeat/draws from the jaws of victory on my watch, could be a good game for Fergue to sit out.
 2. I have thought we need another large presence up front, be it in size or just the type of player who occupies at least one defender all the game like Holt did last season. Holt isn''t match fit. Thats obvious.I wasn''t at Donnie but Saturday at home I thought was his weakest performance contribution-wise I can remember and he was taking longer than ever to get back onside. I don''t think any assertions of believing his own hype though, would like someone to point me in the direction of behaviour that proves that, the Scunthorpe shunning was perfectly understandable as discussedo n here at the time. Archant are extremely lucky there''s lack of competition, their organs'' output and standards are woeful in the main.Martin has shown me enough with his woodwork strikes, near misses and noticeably improved size and workrate that he''ll cut it at this level.Jackson - hasn''t been given enough game time for a judgement to be made, this could either be because Lambert is regretting the purchase from what he''s seen in training or that we''ve been needing results in the last few minutes too often this season to risk taking off martin for a rest. When he has been on the field I''ve seen nothing to encourage me that he''s a good signing, but happy to withold judgement until i''ve watched a couple of hours of him in a city shirt at least.Johnson - Still for me one of Lambert''s biggest errors. Has looked hopelessly off the pace and out of his depth. One incredibly important and welcome brace is all he has contributed that I have seen, at least McKenzie scored against Man U as well, not just the one game he made an impact. My main worries are 1. No plan B up front, and this is being highlighted now as Holt doesn''t seem fit and 2 When Barnett''s loan ends (Nelson wouldn''t have got close to an injury under my management, well maybe when playing for the League 1/2 club I sold him to I guess).I can''t believe that Lambert is happy with his forward options, and putting Johnson on instead of Jackson seriously worries me that he''s already regretting that signing.

[:|]
What about another poster who doesn''t post anywhere like enough posts not giving a rats ass? [^o)]
People are unpleasantly nasty and bully Wiz. He might talk nonsense, but I''ve never seen him actively attack others like a lot of the regulars do. Granted he disagrees with sound reason, says things that are ridiculous (can''t wait for Holt to be back fit next month by the way), but doesn''t lay into people in the offensive and dimissive way that the usual suspects are guilty of. And without his (often deliberately) controversial (some say attention seekeing posts) a lot of the aformentioned bully boys'' post-counts would be a lot lower. Would be a worse place if he wan''t here full stop.
I don''t agree with the nasty and bullying accusations. But I agree with pretty much the rest of your post. Wiz is often deliberately controversial - I believe to encourage the reaction he gets from others. I also agree it would be a worse place if he wasn''t here and turned into a full stop. But the same could be said of the posters you believe are bullies.
Yes that''s true, they too are part of the glorious fabric.

 5.
I don''t follow?
Well considering people were suggesting giving Shittu a go recently I don''t think it''s that ridiculous a suggestion.
 6. Chuffed with this - more significant that just a minute''s applause before one early season league game. Good thinking.

 9.
I think Eduardo recovered more quickly from having his leg twisted through about 90 degrees via that Martin Taylor (wish he was here still!) tackle than Zak is taking to recover from his calf strain! Smith, I am sure, will get fit and become an important player for us. But Zak''s constant ability to play as the holding treatment table player is a concern.
Have you seen Smith play in Scotland mate? I have never seen him play other that 45 minutes at Dereham. When he was worse than me. And I''m a pig. I haven''t heard/seen anyone say that they''ve seen him play well on telly etc. before so would be encouraging if you have.

Ahhhhhh, the famous "Yeah, I was only joking" line when you realise after peoples comments that you said something really dumb.[:)]
Classic [:)]
Closely followed by "Oh, someone must have hacked my account"[:)]
Followed by Bogbrush1 revealing himself as ''Pardews Agent'' trying to manufacture a vacancy in Norfolk.
I would REALLY not welcome Pardew.
 11.

Whitbread? I only have a bitter interest....
obviously lost on ziggypiggy. I got it haha. but here for ziggypiggy
Nope I got Mello "Pun Spectacular" Yello''s joke, but hit quote on the wrong post.. YOU try using a mouse with trotters..
 12.

Dodging a hurricane by the sound of things.....
Never mind the Hurricane, its the Spitfire I''d worry about.
The hurrican actually was far more deadly and impressive no matter which statistic you compare them on, ease of use, cost of production, speed of production, number of successful sorties, number of downed German planes etc. Sorry.
 13.
Right Guys and Gals, I''m just leaving work now to tackle the dreaded Friday afternoon gridlock on the A1, A17 and A47. If everything goes to plan, I''ll see you about 7ish! Leedscanary
My deepest sympathies LC, that was my hellish route to home games for 5 long years in exile. My walk along the river to the ground is much more pallatable these days [:)]
 14.
Whitbread? I only have a bitter interest....
I have been attacking him since we signed him thanks!
 15.
1. He''s out player    2. Got potential 3. He''s injured (get over it) 4. We will not sell him for a wage cut. There we go, now shut up.
1. True2. Opinion3. True (No, not until he''s available for selection in more games than he''s missed through injury, thanks)4. OpinionThere we go, now carry on.
 16. That made me nearly spit out my mouthful of sandwich with equal parts revulsion and mirth.
 17.
5k run, haircut, an afternoon of Jeff Stelling, being vomited on, changing nappies, asleep by 8pm.
I didn''t realise Jess Stelling had problems keeping his din dins down, they hide that well on Soccer Saturday... Or is that what you''ve called your little one?I will be sorting out a SORN before taking the motor to an auction on Monday...
 18.

When one of you score from ANYWHERE within a professional football match then let me know
Do I have to be Lewis Hamilton to comment upon someones driving? Do I have to be Heston Blumenthal to tell you that McDonald''s is a steaming pile of manure?
Superb point.
 19.
Absolutely no need to call him that
boo you.
 20.

This is all we ever seem to see. How long can an unspecified ''calf'' injury keep someone out for? Michael Nelson for example has ''ankle......ligaments'' Andrew Crofts has a ''groin......strain.'' What is actually wrong with Whitbread. Why hasn''t he had an operation by now and will we ever see him play. The Club needs to clarify what is really going on here because the ongoing explanation is no longer good enough.
He''s out until at least October, but the club are hushing it up.Oh sorry, I thought it said "Grant Holt".
[Y]
 21.

Good for him. I was pretty sickened by our ''big time Charlie'' attitude towards him while he was here and I hope he does well.....Again it just shows how we as a club have lost our respect for the ''trier''...........
"Triers" got us nowhere.  Jamie in his latter years was a "Trier".  So was Hooooozey.  So was Bryan Gunn. I''d rather have "Succeeders"
I wish Jamie Cureton the best. I am glad he is not still at the club. Some may argue that Michael Nelson''s fan club is testament to the fact that there are enough people following the club who still love "a trier". Football fans will always have players they love to bash. To some Doherty could never do any right. The last season Roberts played for NCFC there were plenty who put the amount of money his wages were costing per goal scored above past glories and what he''d contributed to the club. There are two guys behind me who SLATE korey smith at any given opportunity. I''m sure there''s someone who has a season ticket who just doesn''t rate Holt. I don''t personally think footballers need you to come out and defend them, whilst some of the more sensitive ones may feel it''s touching that you want to. They get paid handsomely for the entertainment industry they perform (or don''t) in, and getting grief off fans is one of the very few negatives that go along with their lifestyle. If you ever shared a pint with a current city star, hung out with Dion/Hucks or bumped into Roberts on a night out a few times, more than likely you won''t have a bad word said about them. I think with Cureton that is particularly a case in point.
 22. I made a perfectly sensible point. Of course i''m not writing their careers off. But if they''ve only managed to be fit and selected for 45 minutes, then that''s all they can be judged on! Will be delighted if they both manage to prove later on in the season that their awful showing that sunny afternoon was purely down to early pre-season rustiness.
 23.
I dont begrudge Clingan, thought he was one of few players who came out with credibility after our relegation season I remember thinking at the time I thought Clinghan was our player of the season and was far superior than Lee Croft imo (i Personally didn''t think much of him, despite him being the one to win it!) Whether Id take him back now though, maybe not, im more than happy with the players we''ve got in now and dont think hes needed, I certainly rate him though, thought he always gave 100% and in that awful season was a good thing to see
Lee croft = most disappointing recipient of a player of the season award in my memory. Idiot. Stupid, fat headed idiot.
 24.
Yeah Etuhu''s done so bad for himself since leaving. A spell in league one or the europa league final?? He royally screwed up didn''t he?
Took his goal really well at the weekend, I would be extremely worried if I were unfortunate enough to be a Blackpool fan, as our ould pal Dickson isn''t exactly fast and he left them for dead running onto that ball...
 25. Hent utt, Tony, beautiful moment. Least we deserved after that season n''all.
