  1. Once a player has clearly demonstrated their complete lack of desire and ability, chanting against them isn't an attempt to help them play better. It's an attempt to ensure that the manager stops picking them to play in the first place in the hope that someone else might actually come in a do a bit better. Gilmour should never be near our team again and it's only right that the fans make that abundantly clear.
  2. Just leave him in London after the game.
  3. We need to strengthen in a few areas to build a Championship squad. A couple of new strikers, a couple of attacking midfielders, a couple of defensive midfielders and a defender or two and we might do alright. I wouldn't let Pukki go, but his best years are clearly behind him so we need decent cover. Idah is nowhere near good enough. Cantwell would need to have a reversal of whatever has befallen him - possibly if we just wait until Samuel Beckett quantum leaps out of him again, otherwise we probably need to let him go. Dowell might be OK in the Championship. Tzolis could improve with a spell in the U23s and Rashica might be adequate backup. Sargent is never going to amount to anything so we should look to recoup a tiny proportion of the money we blew on him. We need 'weapons' and it's the attacking midfield area we need to focus on. Sorensen should be OK in midfield, if Kenny is still playing every week then I think we're in real trouble. Ruup might do a job as backup, but we really need to strengthen here to come close to repeating our past success. I actually think the defenders are not all that bad. I'd like to see more game time for Mumba and Andy O. Realistically though, I don't think we'll be troubling the top six unless we stumble across another Buendia, another Skipp and another Pukki all at the same time. We've got about a whelk's chance in a supernova.
  4. There's 'struggle' and then there's something else. I'd have been happy to see a struggle. This is a farce and the players and manager can't hide behind excuses. Palace are hardly full strength. We're playing four of our summer signings. If they aren't our first choice players then why on earth did we sign them?
  5. It's already there. It's impossible to tolerate this kind of capitulation.
  6. So about a quarter of our games, half of which he was treading water from about 70 minutes. I don't doubt his ability, but he's never been fully fit.
  7. We needed to upgrade his position in the summer. He is an average Championship player at best.
  8. Remind me of when exactly Normann was fit enough to play a full 90 minutes?
  9. I was genuinely excited about signing him and, before today, saw him as the one green shoot of hope from our summer window. But today he's proven that he suffers from the same basic lack of ability as seen throughout our team. He had two tap-ins and fluffed them both.
  10. It might be that he just doesn't give a sh*t about Norwich so can't be bothered to try, but he is quite probably the worst Premier League midfielder I've ever seen, based on his performances for us at least.
  11. The longer it goes on, the more this thread rings true. There was an initial improvement under Smith but it's been a rapid decline since, and I can't imagine that we would still be playing as badly as this under Farke. The squad has been utterly destroyed by Webber. We will finish bottom half of the Championship next season.
  12. Rashica is another one of the players who seems to get better in people's minds the less he plays. He doesn't seem any better than Onel Hernandez to me. Normann has some genuine quality, but he's clearly been carrying an injury. I doubt we would have got him if fully fit.
  13. We blew an enormous amount of money on utter dross. Tzolis had two glorious chances but lacks the ability to score. Gunn hss yet to make a Premier League save. PLM makes Vrancic look like an athlete. We'd be in a vastly better position if we'd just kept the same squad as last season and only bought a replacement for Skipp or just played Sorensen.
  14. Not one of them has improved the squad, let alone the starting 11. Every inch of progress we made under Farke was thrown away in this one disastrous window. Four of them are playing today. Each one is a significant downgrade in their position compared to the incumbent from last season. They look like amateurs. That Placheta (who was one of our weaker squad players last season) is probably our best player out there is a damning indictment of our transfer business.
  15. You're looking at it wrong. You don't need to just beat the bottom 3, you *are* the bottom 3 so you need to beat the team in 17th to trade places with them. Last season it was 39 points. 36 points would only have guaranteed survival once in the past decade, and it would have come down to goal difference on another three occasions.
  16. That is the lowest quality Norwich City team we've put out in a decade.
  17. Wow. That's actually our two remaining best players. You couldn't make it up.
  18. No chance we'll get to 36 points. I'd be surprised if we got much beyond half that total. I also sincerely doubt that 36 points would actually be enough for 17th place (remember, we'd need to exceed the points of the team who actually do finsh 17th in order to claim that spot).
  19. It's only reasonable to judge that over a similar time frame. Their results over each of their last 7 matches are basically identical. Smith is no improvement over Farke.
  20. Exactly this. But it's also about team cohesion. We changed too many players in a short time and lost any semblance of togetherness.
  21. Absolutely. We entered the summer needing to replace Skipp, upgrade McLean and Dowell and provide some competition for Pukki and in central defence. Letting Vrancic and Stiepermann go was catastrophic. The squad is vastly weaker now than at any point in the last 3 years.
  22. I couldn't disagree more. Farke ultimately failed this season because he abandoned Farkeball. We used to give teams problems and it was entertaining to watch, even when we came up short. Now it's just a shambles with absolutely no thread of footballing philosophy. The alternative is some nebulous idea of being more physical and hitting it long, a bit like Burnley. We need to get back to playing proper, passing football and playing on the front foot.
  23. I'd say something like 'who is the worst central midfielder in the Premier League this season?'
  24. I've previously said that I think Gilmour will be a top player one day and that he's ok with the ball. I realise now how mistaken I was. He is woeful and should never play for us again. We would actually be better playing with 10 men.
  25. The irony is that Farke had that first win and could well have turned the corner. We'll obviously never know, but I find it hard to imagine that we would have done worse under Farke.
