1.
I have one if you get nowhere with getting a couple...
I thought buying and selling tickets wasn''t allowed on this forum? I am certainly of the belief that anyone selling football tickets who is not a football club is breaknig the law.   Please feel free to correct me.   Davo
 2. Kepp looking and you will find somehwere cheaper, unless your under 25 or are planning on isuring a Super Car.   Davo
 3.
Heaven knows what Roeder''s reputation would be like here if he hadn''t taken us from rock bottom and staring relegation in the face to safety...[;)]
I am of the opinion that Roeder could of made a career and name for himself by doing this. By coming into a club mid-season and helping them get out of relegation troubles before taking a long holiday and going to the next club.   Davo
 4. Whilst I agree with your point and think it should happen in periods of games I am not sure either really has the pace to beat fullbacks on the outside which would mean they would have to check back anyway.   Davo
 5.
Just watch Sunday Supplement on Sky if you need any further evidence that journalists know no more about football than your average fan. I read the reports out curiosity but dont need them to tell me what i see with my own eyes.
That''s the crux of the matter. Most Journo''s don''t know more about Football than your fan because they all spend time elarning the game over a long period of time.  The main difference being that they don''t spend as much time looking at one team as a fan does. I know the Telegraph reporter is talking rubbish because I have seen my team play on many occasions where as this reporter has probably only seen them a few times. We have also come to recognise the fact that teams can be made up of players from the leagues below if you pick the right ones for the right values. We have come to this realisation through watching our own team. Your average journo though seems to think that you need "established" players to be in this league and forget that everyone has to play before they can become established.   I would say don''t write off all jornalists though. Listen to the BBC Radio 5 live World football phone-in and you will see soem examples of very good journalists who do know the game. Although even there they have some not so good ones.   Davo
 6.
And back on topic, really Chris Hughton is a very clever man indeed. Barr the Harry Kane loan, everything else seems to have fit into place like a jigsaw!
To be fair the only reason Kane looks liek such a bad decision is because he got unlucky with an injury that could of happened at any time to any player. Kane didn''t look bad when he came on (ok he did miss that chance late on against QPR or West Ham). Either way it''s not fair to say it''s been a bad decision by Hughton it''s just bad luck.   Davo
 7. This is going to be a tough game. Reading can score but we can''t, I strngly feel we''re going to have to get at least two goals to win this one.   Davo
 8. I am having the same problem. Devil''s Advocate''s post is showing up like it. Most of the time it''s not a problem but on occasion it covers up some of the words.Davo
 9.

Tangible this may help..........Rule 2 of the term and conditions of season tickets states that "Season ticket holders are not entitled to automatic entry to home cup ties.Season ticket holders will be given an exclusive period in which to purchase their designated seat for home cup ties Subject to the allocation of tickets to the visiting club."
So as a matter of fairness, it could be YOU who is asked to move for the next cup home match.
It could be but you know that in cases like this it will always be blocks J & K. I guess if you don''t want to run that risk you try and get a seat elsewhere in the ground in the next movers and shakers week.Davo
 10. Didn''t Charlie Adam kick the ball away earlier that he should of been yellow carded for? Swings and roundabouts as far as I am concerned.   I used to like Pulis, mainly because I was living in Gillingham when they so nearly beat Man City for the then Division two play-off finals. Now I just find him a bitter and twisted hypocrite.   Davo

 12. I''m not 100% sure but I think it''s supposed to be a joke or something.Davo
 13. What about the two Morrissey''s?We could trot out Neil Morrissey when we win to claim that we''re the best team in the world and the other Morrissey when we loose to claim it''s all doom and gloom and that we''re going to get relegated. The posters on this board will be able to identify with those kind of press conferences.Davo
 14.
I blame that Labour government. A generation of namby-pamby socialists has grown up expecting something for nothing.
I''m not a namby-pamby socialist. I just won''t pay for something if I can get the same or an equivalent for free. It''s called being sensible.Davo
 15.
So you don''t believe in paying people for the work they do? Yes, I''d prefer all these to remain free and other means of income to be found through advertising to cover costs for instance, however, in the current financial state newspapers find themselves I have no qualms about paying what something is worth.
I see no problem with people getting paid for the work they do. However if I was to pay for this would that mean there would be no adverts? Of course there would be. Plus on the internet there is always another source of information. Why pay for the times when you can easily go to the guardian, bbc, sky sports etc. the list is endless. The only reason you have to pay for the times is because of Murdoch''s prediction that newpapers'' websites will have to be subscription based. He''s being proved wrong, not that he will ever admit it.Davo
 16.
Davo, in that case the keeper got very lucky with the referee! With handling the ball it is where the hands are that matters, whether it''s a goalie or an outfielder.
Possibly or it could simply be a dodgy memory and confirmation bias.Davo
 17.

The area includes the entire area and all the line. On another point, many people have pointed out that referee Mr Foy got it right with the penalty shout as Surman''s toe was just outside the box. I wasn''t aware that Collins made contact with his toe! With what part of Surman was contact made? And where was it? After saying that, it was still too close to call but all the people who are so sure that it was outside the box should perhaps ask themselves the question.
Decisions are made on where a player is ''standing'' with regard to the line, not where an upper part of the body is as far as I''m aware.
That is certainly the case when it come to keepers handling outside the area. Davo
No. Handling the ball depends on where the goalkeeper''s hands are. You can be standing inside the penalty area and handling outside, and vice-versa.
The Laws for goalkeepers, funnily enough are different to those for outfield players so my previous comment still stands.
It was Davo''s view on goalkeepers I was challenging. And that would also apply to an outfield defender who was standing outside the penalty area and lent forwards to handle the ball inside. That would be a penalty. It wouldn''t matter where he was standing in relation to the line.
I am sure I have seen it it where a keeper is leaning forward to catch a ball where he caught it outside his area however his feet were int he area an no free kick has been given. So if a playing is standing on the edge of of 18 yard box and the ball hits his hand that''s over the line this should be a penalty? Never really thought about this before.Davo

 19. Good luck Mandie! This week I recommend a Roma win over Bologna.DAvo
 20. Good on the lad. I hope he gets a contract and does play regularly as it''s the only way he will improve as a player. Davo
 21. Late once again this week, really need to get into the habit of making my picks Wednesday night.I''m going to jump on the Portugal wagon this week.Nutty is there a plan to get our money to the club now that FONCY is going to be wound up?Davo
 22.
If you follow football then part of the interest is the soap opera that revolves around it.
Sorry but that is just not true. Some of us follow football because we like the sport. We like to watch a game of football and don''t care what players get up to off the pitch unless it''s amusing like Dave Beasant dropping a jar on his own foot. Some of us enjoy football at all levels from kids leagues to top level football, from English to South American. We don''t care about all the b0ll0cks in the papers and the "sopa opera" that hypes it up.Try watching football for the sake of watching it rather than following the "soap opera".I will be taking as much of an interest in Villa as I did last season which is about the same level of interest as I was following Sunderland, Fulham or the Spuds.Davo
 23.
Just a pity Nutty that those posters who are quick enough to respond to your posts on other threads will not accept your invitation to join the best thread on this messageboard.
Just like it''s a pity you can''t stop yourself from having a dig at those same people.I was under the impression that this thread was supposed to be free from all the politics and bullsh!t that we have on the rest of this board, yet you can''t help yourself can you? This is a rhetorical question because I don''t care what your answer is. I just want this thread to remain as it was meant to be. This is supposed to be a thread for those who are interested in helping others pick 6 games a week we think will win each week with the aim of winning FONCY some money. You have plenty of other threads to spout your cr@P and to score pointless points about other posters so please refrain from doing it here. You never know it might even encourage new posters to join us and help.I will of course withdraw my comments and apologise to you all if I have misjudged the aim of this thread in the fact it is supposed to be free of politics and more importantly free of any dig towards any poster with the aim of raising money for FONCY.Davo
 24. Apologies for being late and more importantly for missing last week. I don''t know if this one has been picked but I going to go for: Greuther Furth V Bayern Munich  - Away win   Davo
 25.
Yeah and what about the woman in a jacket who grew a pair and after half time ejected the shrek lookalike and his sidekick for persistent standing in P4 behind the goal, back of the net! H
She was only about 1/2 his size and had more guts than most of the people around there.   I did like the "5-0 and you still don''t sing" chant. I think it summed up thier fans completley.   Davo
