1.                                 Marshall     Omozusi     Kennedy     Stefanovic     BertrandPattison     Fozzy      Russell     Clingan      Hoolahan/Croft*                                LupoliI think this will be the starting line-up. Not sure whether Hoolihan will start or not but I don''t think GR would want someone that isn''t commited to tackling in this game. Pattison and Lupoli deserve to start after their performances against Cardiff and the rest seems to pick it''s self at the moment. I think Russell will be the one to push on but at the same time we have to keep solid at the back and not give away an early goal or we won''t win.Davo
 2.

I think the general feeling throughout the fans is Peter Cullum would be the right chairman or owner to take our club back up to the Premier league and then into europe back where we belong, and if people who say that they are Norwich fans but would like Delia to stay they are not Norwich fans,Because with her we are going nowhere except lower league football. And a club always run on a shoestring,It is my opinion that she has no regards for the fan or the football, as long as her kitchen is working thats fine.
Sorry but this is just complete twaddle. Are you sure your not a West Ham, Wolves or Newcastle fan with that talk of us belonging in europe as though we have a divine right to be there because we are Norwich City Football Club. I would love to be there myself but I don''t feel it''s our divine right like you seem to. You can be a Norwich fan and support Delia just as you can be a Norwich fan and not support Delia. I''m not a fan of Delia''s and I think she has done as much for this club as she can but who decides whether you are a fan of a club or not? You? I don''t think so. I know a few people that are and have been season ticket holders for nearly 20 years and they support Delia because they don''t know much about Cullum, his intentions or his offer, are you going to tell me they aren''t real fans? Probably I wouldn''t put it past some people on this board. As for Iversen if I was Rosenborg I wouldn''t sell him. He''s a top striker over there and they can earn more money to buy better players for next season with him than they can without him. I doubt we offered them enough to be more than what they could earn in the next few months from this seasons UEFA Cup or from the chance of qualifying for next seasons European competitions which all happen in the next couple of months for them.Davo
Inspite of what you said, don''t you think this club our club deserves better things, with Delia all we can hope for is mid to low league I have been a norwich Fan for over 40 years and the last ten have been a load of tof, I never said we had a devine right to play in Europe, but given the chance to would be better than a relligation fight to league 1 every season, when will people realise we are going nowhere with Queen Delia, Her biggest mistake was to keep worthington when we were in the prem. after ten defeates he should have gone then perhaps just perhaps we might still have been there now
I agree with alot of what your saying but when people come out if things like "in Europe where we belong" or "we deserve to be in the premiership" it gets on my nerves. When you talk like that don''t you think Leeds deserve to be in the Champions League every year where they belong as after all they spent more time and had more sucess in that competition more recently than we had in the Uefa Cup? The club is where it deserves to be at the moment because of the way it has been run over the last 10 years or so the same way Leeds are where they deserve to be because of the way they were run. As far as I''m concerned there;s only 2 teams in recent history that aren''t where they deserved to be: West Ham and Sheffield United. This doesn''t mean it''s where I want it to be of course I don''t. I''d love us to be in the same place Aston Villa are now. They have a top manager, a chairman that supports him while at the same time not being frivilous and keeping an eye on the financial stability of the club. There''s no doubt our current predicament is down to the board and they way the club has been run but just because people still back this board doesn''t mean they aren ''t true fans they just have a different perspective than you do. There''s very little football wise that would make me happier at the moment than seeing Delia doing a Jack Hayward and walking away from the club with the promise of serious investment and a crate of cooking Sherry (Ok Jack Hayward only took 10 quid but I think Delia would prefer the Sherry). She won''t do that and it seems to make a mockery of the things she''s said over the last 18 months or so and I''ve lost all trust in the current board like many people have but while I want her to go I''m not 100% sure Cullum is the right way forward. Only time will tell.Davo
 3.
Also the main reason they are keeping in is a bit shoddy - the UEFA Cup, their board have no hope of getting far anyway considering they would willingly sell him in january and the UEFA Cup continues in February... they are mid table in the league and going nowhere yet STILL insist they "NEED him" Glenn has good reason to be unhappy with them to be honest
Looking at these three web pages:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficientshttp://www.rbk.no/english/article87206.ecehttp://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tippeligaen_2007I would say they do still need him. They have 8 games left of their season. 3 of those are against the bottom 3 teams and the rest are mainly those around them. Judging on those fixtures and the possibility of them beating Brondby in the Uefa Cup I''d say there season is far from over. 5th spot qualifies for the Intertoto cup it seems and there''s the chance of playing the the group stages of the UEFA Cup before January they almost certainly won''t win the league but there''s still things to play for.Let me give you two scenarios:1) Norwich are 2 points outside the play offs and we get an offer for our star striker in January 2 weeks before the window closes. The club says we''ll sell him but only if I get a replacement first. 2 days before the window closes you have no replacement and can''t loan anyone (they can''t loan players outside the transfer window in Norway like we can). Would you let our star striker go? Would you allow the board/manager to let him go? I doubt it.2) Another scenario. Imagine Everton selling Yakubu last january and not getting a replacement before the deadline, would they have still finished 5th and qualified for the Uefa cup? I don''t think so.I would love to see Iversen here and maybe Rosenborg did go back on their deal but I don''t blame them as if I was in their position I wouldn''t sell either. Iversen is their top scorer so far this season but a good amount and to loose him would surely cost them the chance of playing further in the Uefa Cup and even qualify for next season. Still we can hope. :) Davo

 6.
Nigel Worthington in the summer of 2006 said :- “There is not a lot of plan C, D, E, F, G, H from the point of view of the quality that we need to come into this football club and take us forward. I can go and sign five six-foot three strikers tomorrow for £100,000 apiece - they won''t do the job that we want because they are not good enough, simple as that, and if you want to move forward then you need good players within the club.“We have looked across the board and the two top targets were Hulse number one, and Howard number two.” “It is not a surprise because when there is not an abundance of those types of strikers about, they command high transfer fees, they command high wages,” he said. “Certainly in the Howard situation, yes, £1m is a lot of money for him, but if that''s what there is about and that''s the going rate at the time, then that''s it.“There is a budget here and it''s a tight budget and we have got to manage that very carefully to get the most from that and with having a tight budget you have got to be very careful how you spend it, simple as that.” He then brought us Dion Dublin on loan insted of buying players who were not good enough for the club.[Y] Peter Grant then bought the players who weren''t good enough in 2007 [N] And now in 2008 it appears we have recovered to where we were under Worthy 2 years ago but Roeder is finding those same obstacles still there. If, as has been hinted, Iverson would be available in November/January, then I suggest we find another Dion Dublin for the short term. Sooner that than we go down the 2007 route.
A good post I believe it''s better to get the right man at teh right price than to get the wrong man at any price.Davo
 7.
What is your reason for believing it to be £500,000? But accepting for argument''s sake that you are right how can £2.5 million be described as a "drop in the ocean". The board valued the club at £16 million last October, it seems clear that Mr Cullum feels it to be worth substantially less than that. £2.5 million is a significant amount to put in and I don''t see why it shouldn''t be accompanied by places on the board. Of course, in the same way that you seem to have inside information as to what the Turners'' contribution has been this summer, you may also have inside information as to what Barry Skipper actually did. For those of us outside the loop it really isn''t clear that replacing him with Mr & Mrs Turner was a backward step. And if that £2 million bought us just 3 extra points then I''m really glad we accepted it.There have been deep-rooted problems at the football club, for those Mr & Mrs Wynn-Jones must take the blame. Based on what little information has been made public they also appear to be grossly at fault for way negotiations with Mr Cullum were handled. But I think it''s far too early to start slagging off the Turners - they are 2 of the very few people who have actually been willing to put money into the footbll club.
So you are saying a 2 million loan (and yes it is a loan based on the accounts) is enough for 2 seats on the board? Going on that basis why don''t Axa have 10 seat on the board as they have loaned the club alot more than £10 mil after all. The murky bit behind the Turners I feel is what is it they actually do? What to they bring to the table apart from a £2 mill loan and a bit more? Why are they involved and for what reasons?Davo
 8.
Despite all of the other replies on here, I find GR''s comments very sensible and I agree with all he is saying - it''s not just us looking for that elusive striker, so are Palace (haven''t scored all season, I believe), so are the Scummers, so are many other clubs. If it was all that easy, there would be 40 clubs at the top of the Prem....
I agree with you here. I given our seemingly limited budget I would prefer to wait till January if it means getting the right player instead of wasting money on a half-arsed solution now. Even if it means we''re in the bottom half of the table till then. We don''t have money to waste on players so getting the right one is more important.Davo

 10.
0-3 without a signing 2-1 with a signing
Some signing that would be not only would he score two debut goals without ever training with the squad before he''d also stop two from going in. Not even a signing like Crouch or Carew would make a difference like that and let''s face it we won''t get anyone in their standard.I reckon it''ll be 3-2. Hoolahoop comming on as a  sub and reacting to GR''s comments to the press to score one and set one up.Davo
 11. Nice try but looking at the Rosenborg website Iverson is in the squad  ;)http://www.rbk.no/english/article116484.eceDavo
 12. I go to about 20 games a season. Living in the midlands I go to any of my local games wolves, brum, Cov, Leicester. Then any games I can get to on the train (I like to have a beer or two) so at least this season I get to go to Reading instead of crappy Stoke. On top of those games I try to get to carrow rd at least 10 times a season but availability of tickets and work tend to limit those opportunities.Davo

 15.
My understanding is that PLC shares have to traded publicly - if not on the Stcok Exchange, other finacial markets (the AIM?). The Smiths own (according to others on the website - I don''t know) 61% of shares. If Cullam were to buy a significant proportion of the rest he would have to be in a much stronger position to push for an issue of new shares. If the board refused a new issue even loyalists like me would begin to wonder.
Basically if you wanted to buy shares you can. To buy enough shares to have influence on the board you would need to purchase the shares off someone but off of who? I have shares but they really mean diddly squat whether that''s my vote at the AGM or my dividend cheques I''ve never bothered cashing because I don''t have enough. Will enough fans sell their shares to give Cullum the influence? Even if they did as The Smiths are majority share holders what they say goes in the end really.Davo
 16.
Davo - my point is that as a PLC our shares would be publicly tradeable and therefore much more easily available for someone like Callum to obtain a significant stake if he wanted.
Whole NCFC is a PLC the shares aren''t on the stock market and there''s only a certain amount. For him to get the kind of percentage to take control he needs to buy the shares off the very people that aren''t selling them to him like the board. If people don''t sell or there isn''t an issue of new shares he can''t buy simple as. Davo
 17.
Davo - I don''t think NCFC is a PLC is it?
Google is your friend here :) The point is that whether they are a Limited Company ot a Public Limited Company if Axa decided to pull the plug then Delia will only loose the money she''s already put into the club. Same would go for Peter Cullum his fortune would be safe because of a thing called Limited liability. Again google is your friend here.Davo
 18.
ask any ncfc fan(except pc)....if they had £1.7 billion they would buy our poor club(for the £56mil) and turn it into a power in the premiership......
Sure if I had £1.7 billion in cash I''d invest in City and I''m sure every fan would. The only problem is PC is now pay attention "reportedly" worth £1.7 billion as he his majority shareholder of Towergate. The £1.7 billion is based mainly on what Towergate is worth. This doesn''t mean he can give City £700million and keep a billion for himself. He doesn''t have £1.7 billion in cash to spend or as far as we know even £100 million. Now if''ve you''ve done your research you would of heard PC has cashed in £60 million earlier this year but who knows what he spent that on? Who knows what other cash he has. Maybe he cashed in £60 mill bought a few bits and bobs then heard about the clubs £56 million valuation? Maybe He''ll do another share issue cash that in and come back, maybe he''ll wait for a time when we''re as low as we were last October and try another cheeky bid, with the bad feeling stired up this summer she might accept who knows? Hopefully I''ve helped you understand the difference between being "worth" something and actually having the cash. I mean I''m worth alot more than the £6.58 in my pocket but my money is tied up little things like cars and houses. Davo
 19. Ok I know this is my first post but please give a moment. I don''t knw what it is about this post but I think I can see soemthings your missing:
It would appear that Axa share the view of the Board of Directors, who clearly do not.n can there be for Axa to refuse to lend money to NCFC under the control of Cullum?  The only logical explanation I can think of is that they are worried that they might not get their money back.
I can think of some more, when the Board took the loan out banks were dishing loans out like no bodies business. Then about a year ago things started to go pear shaped in America and people couldn''t pay back these loans and banks lost money making them loose money the knock on affect is the Credit Crunch. Now people that have had mortgages before can''t get new ones, same could go for loans. There''s also other things that could come to mind like Recession and Economic Slowdown. While I believe you are partially right in the fact they believe they won''t get their money back I personally think this could be down to more than just the fact it''s Cullum. Think about it if the UK goes into recession some people won''t be able to afford to go see their team alot causing knock on affects to the clubs finances even with a billionaire in control. At a time when people are having to tighten their belts due to rising prices in fuel, gas, food etc what type of things are going to suffer? Luxuries and a thing like going to watch live football everyweek is a luxury. Also let''s face it lending money to football clubs doesn''t mean a guaranteed return on the money you put in and the examples are glaringly obvious in recent history. All thouse things together wouldn''t you insist that if a football club changed hands you get your money back? Now let''s consider who owns the debt. It''s a NCFC debt to Axa. NCFC is a Plc which means if it folds (I sincerely hope it doesn''t but this is purely an example) Delia et al. won''t have to pay a penny, sure they''ll loose their investment but they''ll only loose what they have already put into the club. Now if PC did take over the club it would either remain a Plc or he could change it to a Ltd company. If the loan was renegotiated the debt still be against NCFC and not PC''s £1.7 billion so what would Axa gain by renegotiating the loan? Nothing and in the current climate they may not want to loan any more money to either the current board or renegotiate the loan with anyone.
This is probably because of the way that Cullum intends to introduce the promised £20m transfer kitty into the club.  It has been suggested that this would be by means of a share issue, which is unlikely as it would result in the value of the shares as a whole being devalued, thus resulting in Cullum losing his money.
This like my above statement  is pure conjecture and opinion. While I agree it seems PC wanted into the club via a share issue we haven''t seen facts to confirm this because apart from the "20 million for players in exchange for control" we don''t know how he was hoping to do this. As for loosing money, there''s masses of money in football but very little profit for clubs, sure you might get lucky once and make a killing (Mandric at Pompey) but 9/10 times or more you loose money and as someone who obviously does have a very good business brain why would he put money into football to make profit?
He is unlikely to simply gift the money to the club, businessmen simply don''t operate that way.
Does PC not own a charity? Has he not Given 10 million to the college he went to in London? As for gifting the money to the club, would you give £20 million over and say I want this invested in the team and simply trust people to what you asked them to with no way of ever proving it was spent how you wanted it to be spent? You can say check the yearly accounts but accountants are clever and know how to make unsuccessful companies look successful even if it is only for a year or two, who is to say they can''t do that and then say two years down the line "oh sorry it''s gone but look we paid £3.5 million for Ameobi" PC would then of seen his money wasted with no come back as it was a "gift". I don''t blame him for not gifting the money I know I wouldn''t as I would want some way of knowing it was spent on what I wanted it to be spent on. It wouldn''t matter to me if it was Delia I was giving the money to or PC at the end of the day I would want to make sure that money was spent on what I gave it to the club for.
What has probably worried Axa is that Cullum intended to loan the £20m, leaving the club owing £15m on the existing debt, another £20m to him and £4m to the current directors.  What''s more, the club would be spending the money on players (and their wages) who could be worthless in 3 years when they walk away from their contracts.  A debt of £39m may, in some people''s opinion, be bearable if we got promoted and stayed in the Premier League, but Axa, like me, are clearly not prepared to gamble on it.
Again it''s that word "probably" which to me means your speculating just like I was before. I have no problem with this everyone is entitled to an opinion but until I see the facts and/or reasons why Axa insist on full repayment whether it is because PC intened to loan the money or there are larger economical factors involved I''m inclined to believe it''s to do with the credit crunch etc. purely because I know this is happening.
I have read several messages suggesting that we protest against the Board.  Can I suggest that we wait until the full facts are known?  If it turns out that a good offer has been made then I agree we should all push for it to be accepted.  At the moment, however, all we know is that an independent company that was prepared to lend the club money under the current regime is not prepared to do so with Cullum in charge.  Perhaps we should all stop, think and wonder why.
Now this I completly agree with this bit I would like to hear the story from the board and from PC and then try and find the truth in the middle but I seriously that will ever happen. I don''t think protest is the way to go just yet as you never know what might happen in a few months time I just hope that if someting does happen it''s not already too late.Davo
