1.
I think Askou should get the excuse that it was his first time playing in front of a crowd that big.
I haven''t seen the same generosity offered to Theolilitis!
Id also like to commend Lambert for picking Korey Smith, I thought he was excellent today and his tenacity and enthusiasm really kept the midfield ticking over.
Agree completely - like a little terrier!
 2. I agree and it wasn''t only the goals. They frequently looked uncomfortable and unconvincing - against a better team?
 3.

Spillane looked very good, won lots of tackles, gave 100% and he can distribute the ball well aswell.  If there is anything he needs to work on, it''s his heading.  Only made one mistake which led to their second goal, and all he did was become to eager to clear the ball away and got a bit to tight to his man. I would be very happy seeing him play lot''s of games this season.
I was obviously at the game played in a different but parrallel Universe. Spillane was out-muscled by their big forward and never looked in control of the situation. Askou got him out of trouble several times although saying that, I didn''t think he was particularly impressive either. This afternoon was a great opportunity for Spillane but he singley failed to grasp it. I think it is safe to say that this pairing is unlikely to remain in place long but in truth perming any two from the four recognised centre backs hardly gives me much room for confidence. If Lambert doesn''t fancy Doc, then he needs to go into the transfer market because he is still the best of a very average bunch in my opinion.
Agree completely. I thught that the two looked a bit shaky throughout and lacked physical presence - I fear for how they would have done away from home against a better team. I suspect that they are trying to move Doc on (to save wages) - so let''s hope he has someone in mind!
thought

 5. My guess is that we will see plenty of the Doc this season. I wouldn''t say his replacements excelled.
 6. I didn''t see or hear any batons - were they in all stands?
 7.
At least we have someone now, who know''s what he''s doing. Dropping Dotherty was an excellent start!
Yes, the centre of defence looked very tight without him!
 8.
Today if we don''t get three points and see a dismal performance again?
We sack tha manager of course!
 9.

There are quite a few Essex based members of the Capital Canaries. The train we catch stops at Shenfield and Colchester on the way out and Colchester, Chelmsford (1730) and Shenfield (1800) on the way back. Return fare of only £12. See our website or PM myself or Tim Allman for more info.
Are those timings correct? How can it be 1730 for Chelmsford?
The times noted are the departure times from Norwich.
Derr - sorry!
 10.
thats the train that leaves norwich at 3.25pm when we are 4-0 down badger !
Hopefully it will be empty for the rest of the season!

 12.
On a recent poll, women were asked whose sperm they would rather have to father their babies out of Brad Pitt and Stephen Fry. 90% chose Stephen Fry!
Ironic really!
 13. I think we all have a filtration process. There are certain people who we take seriously and think about; others annoy us and we like to argue with them and others amuse us in a parental way! Some we just ignore any thread that they start. In the end, we just trust our own judgement.I live in Essex and don''t have many friends "in the know" but do know one or two people who have links and pick up "snippets." They have always been wrong though (but i trust their intentions completely) - I am glad that i have never posted the rumours although tempted!I know some just post to wind everyone up, but equally others genuinely have hear something and want to put it into the public domain - there is no harm in that.
 14.
Green was a better keeper than Gunn IMHO.
I know memory is clouded with age and rules/ tactics have changed but my youthful memory is of KK regularly taking corners/ crosses near the penalty spot. Plus as a shot saver...
 15.

It''s far more important to make the right decisions than ruthless decisions. Roeder was pretty ruthless. OTBC
Sorry, don''t quite see what you''re getting at there. What are your thoughts on formation and the perceived weaknesses in the squad?
I presume that he is referrig to the title of the post - being ruthless is easy - Roeder even sacked the kitman! Grant spent months criticising the players; the board have sacked managers left right and centre - all might be seen as ruthless - but has it worked?Being tough and taking action is always popular - as it seems like it is decisive - but it only works if the tough decisions are the right ones. Sometimes the really tough decision is to see things through!
Thanks Badger, I must admit that we''d got so tied up in discussions of tactics etc that I''d forgot the title of the original post. In that context it''s a good point by Bly, and I suppose we will only find out whether the ruthless decisions were right in the fullness of time. Having said that, I think that there''s been rather too much inertia in the last few years!
Sorry Beau - I can''t agree with the too much inertia statement. I''ve lost count of the number of managers, assistants, first team coaches. youth team (academy, or now it seems, football development managers) we have had. Twelve new players since June? We have also had a major change in the board as well. I don''t think inertia is the word! Recent actions leave only two people unchanged!
 16. He knows his stuff but just about every club he has ever been at ends up in trouble. He seems to have a magic gift for getting Chairment to part with money that they can''t afford! It will be interesting to see how it all works out at Spurs.
 17.
I certainly haven''t read that promotion is the only option, but i haven''t read everything and i doubt if you speak to people now, that you will find many expecting us to get promoted now, it''s more hoping we do.
You may be right about what most people expect - this could help but it''s depressing that people should give up so quickly. Ipswich have a similar points total to us - I can''t believe Roy Keene has given up on promotion!
Think thats the 1 year deal. We won''t get saddled paying out a lot and he won''t get saddled managing a team with no money - relying on Foulger handouts. Agree its our best chance is this year as we may lose a couple of players if we don''t go up, but i felt it was our best year at the start, not now, i think next year is our best chance now.
I don''t know about managing a team with no money. We must have nearly as much on the management team than we have on players. Gunn + Butterworth''s compo + compo to Colchester must be above a million surely? Does anyone better informed than me have any idea?
 18. I''d be amazed if he resigned without any compensation. They probably agreed to pay most of his contract up.
 19.
Just to say... i don''t think it will be acceptable. But i won''t be puting the blame on Lambert either.
He knew that was the job when he accepted the post; he has got a season less 3 games to achieve it. This year is his best chance - it will be harder rather than easier after it. He was appointed because he was on good terms with the CEO rather than his record. Both now have to prove themselves.

 21. Both teams finished below us last year, in what was the worst season of my lifetime - I don''t see how we can say that doing even worse this year is acceptable.Consolidation is not satisfactory.
 22. Nobody will win all the rest of their games - and we still have to play Leeds/ Charlton.
 23. Downloads there are more than enough games for us to get promoted. I don''t think that anything less than promotion is satisfactory.
 24. He should get us promotion this year. If he fails he should be sacked.
