  1. The god of Sky, Andy Gray stated on numerous occasions that Norwich are the only club in his opinion with the required credentials to stay up from last years div one, see, the important ones that actually know what they are talking about do recognise a solid, proffesional outfit when they see one. Get off your high horse, Bobby, and watch a game that consists of two teams & not just yours.
  2. Name circulated today, he was never good enough anyway, we aint demanding a fee either.
  3. Target Primus offered improved Pompey deal Norwich will have to turn their attentions elsewhere for defensive cover, with Linvoy Primus offered an improved deal by Portsmouth. Primus only recently signed a two-year deal, but Norwich were offering a three-year contract and better terms, which turned the player''s head. City had hoped the offer would be enough to lure Primus to Carrow Road, but he has held talks with Portsmouth and has now been offered better terms there, and may well now stay. Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric said: "We''ve had a conversation in which I expressed my desire to keep him at the club. I''m going to have to do something which I don''t normally do and improve a contract which had been agreed. "That''s because Linvoy is exceptional and has shown a lot of loyalty to the club. We''re going to look at his wages and an extension," Mandaric added. A delighted Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp said: "Linvoy is going nowhere - he has a contract with us. We''ve had a chat with him and are going to improve his deal a little bit. He''s earned that and deserves it." Offical comment Bollocks!!!!!!!!
  4. I think he needs a sharp suit he looked bloody awful in that red training top, he needs a make over starting with his hair, he aint gonna intimidate mourino with that. He also needs a head set ala Big Sam. The poor guy''s stuck in the 80''s style wise. I agree he doesn''t look like he wants to run away and hide now though.
  5. i think you lose whoever you transfers weekly points, greeno hucks & helveg
  6. he played 2 seasons at stockport in centre midfield recieved play of the year there for it, if thats an achivement!!! very versitile
  7. they have all played for england i think i would have stuck with em!!!! not quite them I''ve nothing against age its quality, he sadly doesn''t possess enough. We would have gone up if Shackell had played all season anyway. As for championship manager? i''m using my own perceptions of his performances nothing else, so he scored a few important goals, wow, so did Samasi Abu at West Ham didn''t make him any good doesnt make malky. Its his defensive temperament that worries me, remember the Saints in the FA cup.
  8. Well said jim, we dont all have to put our faith in him just cause he cut the mustard in div 1. Why wait to replace him, charlton was excellent in all the Bolton live games I saw last year a well rounded individual that will not be intimidated by this league. You cant afford a bad start which is why we must hit the premiership all guns blazing, its very easy to get stuck in a rut & expect to lose every week, sunderland had a very hardworking side the year they finished with the lowest ever points tally, you need quality as well as worth ethic here, malky is uncultured & will give the ball away too much, Im not doubting his servancy but I never doubted Iwans either, he still went, & in the best interests of the club, malky is an accident waiting to happen, I dont like saying these things but its true.
  9. Yes he was, thanks mainly to the excellent cover from the pacey Upson, & at international level the equally but deceptivly pacey Dunne. You cannot pair two slow centre halves in the best league in the world. Beating Everton, WBA, Cystal Palace & Portsmouth home & away will give us 24 points. I''m afraid it takes more than beating the lesser clubs to avoid relegation you have to take points everywhere & the sooner the better nobody wants it going to the last game. I respect Malky for lowing his standards & leaving Celtic instead of warming their bench. He''s hardly had much competition for his place at Norwich. I dont think we can afford to get caught out early on, its very hard to recover. Charlton has proved himself at this level so should start. Flem does everything Malky does.....only better. I understand what you guys are saying but keeping clean sheets in Div 1 means nothing in the premiership. As for established international, malky wont play when a pathetic excuse for a defender (Daily) is fit.
  10. Win at all costs? I wouldn''t have been a Norwich fan all these years if I was a glory hunter. You guys let your hearts rule your heads, he wont make the grade, on occasions last season that was painfully. He''s never played at a level close to the premiership & you cant teach an old dog new tricks. He turns like the QE2 but he''ll sink like the Titanic!
  11. He should stick to gardening, he''ll be eating henry''s turf in a few weeks....if he''s picked.
  12. Helveg? I dont think its a great signing, you are all saying that cause you watched him in the euro championships, lets start he''s 33 not far off 34, for a wing back changing to a new faster paced league (only ever played in Italy) & add to that he didn''t play a single competative game last year for inter. Not the preparation you need for what is likely to be his penultimate season. He''s after a last pay day, nobody wants him, i''d cry if...only....I cared. Young fearless talent thats what we need we have more than enough experience.
  13. You just used guaranteed quality & Johannson in the same post I will put this down to an administrative error. We need to look further afield than other strikers who cant make the grade at struggling clubs. The Jonathan Steads are out there! Just got to back em.
  14. What the hell is going on. The guy is head & shoulders above every English striker all throughtout history. When he killed us in the famous Blackburn drubbing I was in shock at what a complete player he really is. Add to that the injuries he''s had to overcome, would finish a lot of pro''s careers, not only that but he has always played to his strengths, an intellegent act that many many players dont seem to understand, he never...ever gives the ball away, how the guy above can say he has limited build up play has clearly never watched Alan Shearer play. He changed the way he played when he joined Newcastle because he knew his legs couldn''t take playing on the shoulders of defenders anymore yet the goals stream in as normal. He is over 90 goals ahead of Andy Cole in the Premiership all time goal scorers he will bring up the 250 mark this season because he has always guaranteed 20+ goals a season, injury permitting, he makes that guarentee, all he wants from his club is a guarentee that he''ll play & I saw the interview he clearly states ''form permitting''. The guys a living legend & makes fools of the ''box'' strikers (Lineker, greaves, owen, rush) that seem to get the praise. He would still be my first name on the teamsheet at Newcastle & the premier league will be a worse place without him next year. I would be honoured to support a club with a pro like that. Phew glad thats off my chest.
  15. but all the names you just mentioned, in the scheme of things, are unproven nobodies thierry cant wait to come to carrow world & its not for the half time pies. Every team has a striker that will enjoy the likes of Fleming & Mackays lack of top level football. As for Wolves rejects need I say more. spend Spend SPEND!!!
  16. I see mixed opinions on Malky, he cannot make the step up at this stage of his career, I''m not just talking about his age he has no big game experience to call upon, De Zeuw at pompy (36) & Keown (37) have played at the highest level for the majority of their careers so theres no suprises they know where to be when against the best the world has to offer. Malky was a squad player in a rubbish scottish league & has played in Division 1 all his career, the difference is huge, he just wont cope. Also on the ''team'' aspect, surely thats a cop out for a team that cannot afford quality, all football teams have team spirit, but if you come up against a team that beats you for quality all over the park you are gonna struggle no matter how ''together'' you are. I love Gary Holt, its a footballing term over used but he plays with his heart on his sleeve, but you look at every premiership clubs central midfielder & he''s outclassed technically & physically in a lot of cases. Everton struggled all last year & have an integral Danish midfielder (Graveson) at their disposal. Francis is huge for us this season a lot depends on him he can...on his day go toe to toe with the best i think, but quality is whats required as running around all game is not enough. Which is why Mulryne should play a more promient role this year. It seems a lot of hope is pilled on to Huckerby for the goals but he''ll face a learning curve as he''s spent so long out of the premiership. A ''big man'' is crucial if hes to profit in this league, dion used to provide it for him but sven is out of his league here. One 3 million quid striker is paramount in order to raise expectations in the squad, if i was in the squad I wouldn''t be convinced by the signings & if I hear the phrase ''Prudence with Ambition'' one more time I''ll shoot myself. Get the cheque book out sign some quality ppppllllleeeeeaaaaseeee
  17. Look at the partnerships, at teams we realistically can budget for 3 points next year. Tottenham: King & Gardener Southampton: Lundekvam & Svenson Portsmouth: De Zeuw & Stefanovic WBA: Albrectson & Purse Everton: Yobo & Stubbs I think its crucial that you have a complimentary pairing at the back, Fleming & Mackay cannot compete week in week out against the likes of Owen, Van Nistlerooy, Henry, Defoe, Keane, Bellamy, Yakubu, Forssell. Good it scares me to continue. A pacy experienced centre half is required yes fleming has read division one football well over the years but the ask Worthy is making is too far. Mackay has no quality, Im sure there are fans of him out there, but in my opinion he is gonna come unstuck, & limit our true class defender (Drury''s) attacking influence. If you look at the list of defenders above at least one of them is an established international it cannot be overlooked that our international is a backup scottish international further down a pecking order that includes Daily & Mckenna (Who I hear you call......exactly). They have no experience of this level of football to call upon. I hate to say it but the division one defensive partnership of 2003 will be obliterated in a haze of speedy strikers. It must change it has to you cant tell me worthy sees them as premiership grade.
