1. So tell me...how many supporters are coming down from San Jose?
2. Guys, forget New York or even San Jose for that matter... Come when the Quakes play in Toronto and visit a city that actually gives a shit about their football club.
3. Oh poor Huckerby...relegated to a life of playing infront of soccer moms and their families.I hope the California lifestyle is worth it...you could have been a legend in Toronto.
4. Apparently San Jose train on FieldTurf though...hmm.
5. For those who care, it looks like Huckerby wants to sign with San Jose rather than Toronto... http://thestar.blogs.com/torontofc/ I can assure you that this is not a football move...looks like Hucks is chasing California dreams to me...or maybe he just doesn''t want to play on Toronto''s synthetic pitch.
6.

Having never been to England, I guess that''s something you''d have to decide for yourself. A visit is definitely recommended! And come during the summer during the football season...I think you''ll be surprised at what us Canadians can do :) The quality of football is getting better and better, but it''s still not exactly impressive. I guess you''d just have to decide for yourself on that too, really haha. There are a couple archived games here: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/player/ MLS on CBC >>> Complete Games >>> Choose a game (Starting from the April 19th game, the ones before are pre-season games)
You must be speaking of a Toronto Argonaut game against Hamilton Tiger Cats because, as you acknowledge, the MLS is not exactly impressive. Still, Huckerby may find the Toronto experience rewarding, although Toronto has lost some of the appeal of years gone by.
Sounds like a sour Red Bulls fan to me :P ;)

8. Without reading the whole thread, I can say that you definitely won''t find a Toronto shirt in Walmart :P At least not here in Canada anyways. ;)
9. ^haha oops, I guess there''s no edit function eh?
10.
His man asset is acceleration - the ability to make an instant change of pace - but he''s not just a paceman, he has trickery and ties defenders in knots. When he first came he had a tendency to try and beat too many opponents instead of passing it, but in my view he has matured since then and his experience compensates for a slight loss of pace (he was 32 in April). In this league he gets very tightly marked and has learned how to makes the most of opportunities to win free kicks, corners and penalties off his markers. He''s not an out and out striker but scores goals and makes plenty too.
Thanks for the feedback guys, and no worries about it getting buried, the exact same thing would happen on the Toronto boards, especially since you just signed that Bertrand fella on loan. Anyways, I really liked this part of your summary of Hucks because it is EXACTLY what this team needs. Electric pace with a flick of skill to create some havoc for MLS (read: shitty) defenders, but above everything else, we need finishing. Did Huckerby ever feature in a striker position during his stay at Norwich? I think I remember reading something about him playing there at Leeds and having a pretty good strike-rate. As you may or may not know, we already have a left sided winger in Laurent Robert.
11. Hello from Toronto! So what should I be expecting if Hucks does indeed sign here in Canada? Admittedly, I know little about his career, I''ve just watched some Youtube vids, but we all know those could make anyone look good.. All I know is we need a striker in the most desperate way... So far we are linked with your boy Huckerby and also Paul Dickov, who were both at BMO Field last Saturday on Canada Day. http://toronto.fc.mlsnet.com/news/team_news.jsp?ymd=20080703&content_id=170107&vkey=news_t280&fext=.jsp&team=t280 BTW, absolutely LOVE the idea of seeing a bunch of City supporters decked out in the TFC kit!! :)
