1. One thing Mr Mills is very good at is disguising his Norfolk roots when it comes to accent. He has well and truly shaken the Norfolk soil off his boots as regards his speech patterns. Every time I hear him speaking on radio or TV, I try hard to detect the odd "goo" (go) or "he say" etc, anything that might give the game away that he was born in Norwich suburbia, and I fail miserably every time. It seems to me that he would prefer to erase his Norfolk origins from his memory. Oim nart rilly a yookel bor, thet oi ent!
2. I''m not sure I agree with the OP''s proposition here. As I said elsewhere, Hughton went up somewhat in my judgment after Sunday''s great and deserved victory over Spurs, but there has been some very poor football at times this year. I am sure that the board have been discussing whether to stick or twist when it comes to who occupies the hot seat, and I think that they will continue to talk about this issue even if we stay in the Premiership.  I hope that they make the right decision and I don''t envy them as it is a tough one to make. It could be damned if you do - damned if you don''t.
3. Our sports hacks and pundits are rather fond of a good bandwagon, they love them just as much as a good cliche, it saves taxing their brain cells on original thought. I don''t think McNally and the board will be swayed by what any of these talking heads think; they shouldn''t be, anyway, as all of these sh.ite storms blow over in a very short time when a new bandwagon appears just crying out to be jumped on.
4. Reading any from of literature improves people''s minds and lives. I have just read a brilliant and inspirational book entitled: Stop What You''re Doing and Read This. It comes highly recommended from me. It is a collection of essays by different writers, and the gist of what they all say is that reading is very therapeutic. They say that everybody needs literature to make sense of their lives, test their depths, understand their joys and discover what human beings are capable of. Great books can provide companionship and bring peace in the midst of an overcrowded daily life. Reading is a unique pleasure and nobody should live without it is the book''s message.
5. The boy dun good yesterday and got his tactics spot on. A well deserved victory for City, and I think we should stay up provided we can have a few more solid perfomances like the one we saw against Spurs. I have been a Hughton outer for some time, but after the Man City and Spurs games I have changed my mind about him and will back him from now on (win, lose or draw). I leave any decision as regards his future in the board''s capable hands.
6. Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool. Reason - they all have more than their fair share of plastic supporters, and they''ve all been in the top flight MUCH TOO kin LONG. Everton are not quite as fcucking loathsome as the other two I suppose. Am I the only one who finds Wenger a tiresome t.wat with his awful Franglais? He''s supposed to be intelligent, but having spent nearly twenty years in this country, how come his English still sounds like a visitor on a day trip from Calais? Intelligent, my arse!
7. Ah, sorry, I''m wrong, Hoots record is 2nd to none. Ha ha.
8. Yes, I''m sure you are right. How much are tickets to see Spurs - £40 to £50? You can have a good night out for that sort of money instead of being bored for 90 minutes.
9.
What happened to Get In.....Part I? Funny how things can just mysteriously disappear...
It went straight to DVD.
10. I find it astounding that The Hooton Fan Club can doubt the credentials of any potential NCFC managerial candidate. I should have thought it would be almost impossible for anybody to do worse than Christopher Hughton, wouldn''t it? So why the fear and apprehension about change?
11. You are spot on, OP. I actually enjoyed our season in the 3rd Division - not that I''d like to see the club return there any time soon.
12.
He should go today........before he can inflict any more damage on us.
Absolutely.
13. Has anybody else had problems with the sound on youtube? Namely, I can receive the sound perfectly for a time and then it suddenly disappears completely, although the film/video pictures are still perfectly ok. It''s infuriating!
14. The last two lines have a particular resonance with me. Profound stuff.
15. Come on come on Hurry up Lennon come on Come on come on Hurry up Lennon come on We''re going down the pub We''re going down the pub My grateful thanks to Sham 69 for my "inspiration" there. Not quite Wordsworth but close!
16. Actions speak louder than words. He should already be an ex City manager!
17. Because he knows how to take a team down quickly.
