  1. Got a point there m8 , I just feel we shouldn't be too rash either... they're young lads and we don't want to put too much of a burden on their shoulders. Start Tzolis and bring in Sargent for Pukki in the course of the sevond half against Leicester (depends on how the game goes naturally).
  2. Tzolis and Sargent should make an appearance in the next league game. I would even start one of them ...
  3. I agree, the lads on the pitch tonight showed their worth and that they're confident enough to have a go . Opposition aside, they came up with the goals and the clean sheet.
  4. Well, if they offered me a 1-1 draw , I would sign for it right now...
  5. They're easier opposition , that's for sure , but if you're losing it all gets more difficult! No confidence , etc... I don't claim that Liverpool etc... don't have a better team , more money , more class... But every game in the PL is tough , every one of them and if you're losing each hill gets tougher to climb even if it seems like only a bump in the road! We'll see , but I agree with those that say we are in a habit of losing in the PL and we have not broken the habit yet. I hope it will come good like you do , but I haven't seen enough evidence that it will atm... Good result against Leicester and that can all change rapidly , but you have to break the barren spell
  6. @keelansgrandad that's what gets me too , the excuses and the assumption that it will all get much easier against the likes of Watford, Brighton , Burnley,...etc... Which I don't think is necessarily true. A very tough ask if you've been trounced in the first games of the season and your team is not up to it (yet). Lots of excuses , like you say
  7. I saw that too and every "new team" has to gel. A little too much black and white thinking on here admittedly , I mean "either you're a pant wetter or a happy clappy 😉 " . I wasn't counting on points from the first two games either , but I was very disappointed with the performance on saturday , we would have lost against any other team in the PL ! (That's in my opinion). But we really , really need a result from somewhere , just to get us going and not to let the heads drop . I read all these confident posts and rethoric about not worrying and having time enough to sort it out , but that was the same the last time we were in the PL ... To win games , you need to hit the back of the net with the pig's bladder... so I think scoring a PL goal is the first thing we will have to manage...plus getting a result. After saturday I am really not too sure when that is going to happen... There's a lot of excuses going around , some more feasible than the others . But if you have to play catchup after 4-5 games , you're in deep deep trouble...as the stats prove
  8. I'll keep you to that ... Atm we don't look like scoring do we? Singling out Pukki is not fair imo and he will come good , but hopefully sooner rather than later. Injury crisis hey...I'm sure they're up to the wear and tear of the Premier League ... I mean they have a squad that can cope with it... Do we have the bottle, grit and determination, quality to get a result? A far more difficult questions to answer... Hope so!
  9. Agreed...a loss is tough to take...but the way we were carved open and the little we created is the most worrying...
  10. I feel no result against any of these two would mean curtains. I know there is so many games still to be played, but playing catchup is lethal for a newly promoted side most of the time! Only one good result would change that imho... lose both and I think , my opinion, we won't recover...
  11. The writing's on the wall...imho Doesn't matter who you've just played. It was painful to watch and the confidence of the team will be very low... In this league there are no easy games and you need a good start to stay up as a promoted team imo. Even with another signing , I'm afraid we're playing catchup already...which is very, very disappointing. We are not competitive in this league at the moment, DF has an enormously difficult job to do... The excuse of it being Liverpool and Man City...is just that: an excuse , we wouldn't have beaten Watford, Crystal Palace or Brentford...either, with that kind of performance
  12. 1989 Nottingham forest 0 - Norwich City 1 , Mark Bowen scoring just before half time. I was still a very young lad and my father held my hand tight when we scored . He had explained to me that we had to be quiet when our team scored as we were on the "Nottingham Forest stands" ... Something I'll never forget...especially as it turned out to be the winner. I remember Linighan and Butterworth being rocksolid at the back and Gunny as cool as ever... Another one I can think of is Maddison's winner against brentford a few seasons ago. I was visiting my uncle in Chiswick and he had tickets for the game. I had presumed I couldn't go , but there I was watching Madders score a belter !!!
  13. Much too early to tell imo . Our start is very difficult , but one good result can kickstart our season! I liked the performances of our new players too, yet the missing link was obvious... I think a lot will depend on getting that/those first point(s). It will give the players confidence and we will benefit from that.
  14. I've got respect for your point of view...but I feel it's very important! And while there is always an exception to be found, most of the time if you're lagging behind from the start you've got much more chance to be relegated. I don't want to be too negative. Pessimism won't help, but our start to the season is damned tricky! Would be for any promoted club. Win a point in the next two games and we'll be off and running. Get hammered and we'll be in the dumps... Human reaction, our players will need some lifting
  15. Getting off to a good start is vital to stay up. This is a fact... DF has work to do, heads will drop , which is human...but our coach is up to it. The more of a meal we make of it as fans and the negativity that's created by that , will only make it tougher for the squad.
  16. They deserved it! I hate every single one of the top six and want them to lose. Congrats Bees
  17. I've been avoiding him and I'll keep avoiding him
  18. This is what I think too. These are young promising players whose value will only increase. I've digested the Emi sale , but Cantwell has to stay! Skipp back on a loan would make me happy...
  19. I still see DM as a priority over a CB tbh I feel we will see at least one of the two signed before the end of the window
  20. Comparing the PL , "money money money" ERA , with the decades before that is just not right imho. Only Leicester City have stood up to the top six once and I reckon the league has become far too predictable at the top end. At the bottom end it's the same I am 99 % certain that one of the promoted clubs will go down , in 1990 that wouldn't have been 99 % ... at least I remember the league was much more competitive.
  21. It's also a Farke "kind of player" . If anything I think DF will get the best out of Josh and he's got a work ethic this boy so I think he will blossom under DF. Welcome to Norwich City, Josh!
