My brother who currently works in Qatar is moving to Dubai in the next couple of months but he''s an Arsenal fan.[:P] If it''s anything like Qatar then you''ll have no problem following English football and there are plenty of other ex-pat football fans to watch a game and have a beer with.
Qatar is garbage to watch football and have a beer, it used to be ok but the goverment has enforced strict laws regarding drinking. Dubai on the other hand is superb and has loads of Expat bars in Bur Dubai and on the Marina.
Well I was in Doha with him last August and the beer was free flowing while I was there, I know you have to have that licence thingy but we never struggled for a beer at any of the places he took me to or at his apartment. I was supposed to be going back for the England game but sadly I couldn''t make it.[:(]
Yes beer is available if you have a license but over the last 9 months or so they have started to crack down on who is drinking in the bars and you have to show ID or Passport. It has certainly changed for the worse over the last 2 years. who does your brother work for?
 5.
A long shot, but are there any City fans in Dubai on this board? I''m about to move out there and want to know if there is much coverage on tv. Would also be good to celebrate our promotion in a few months!
Libbra, You will get to see loads of live footy in Dubai but you will not get to see any Football league. If you need any info regarding general stuff feel free to email me and i will help if i can. nmacleod@qatargas.com.qa

 11.
You prefer a woman who single-handedly destroyed tens of mining communities on a grudge, over a woman who bakes cakes to make money to put into the football club you support ?
Blah blahblah...Dont you think that IF the mining industry was making money and not loosing money hand over fist she would have closed them?? so please explain how she "Single-handedly" destroyed them.OTBC Macca
 12.
I''m relatively new to the City and looking for a good place to watch the match after THE match on Saturday? Somewhere with a good atmosphere but not too rammed would be ideal. I may also want to get settled in for the Rugby League and/or ROI v France match, so somewhere that serves good food would be a bonus.
I am lucky (or unlucky) enough to work in Doha so i will be at the game, Locals are football mad so should be a good atmosphere.   OTBC

 15.
It''s not another fine mess that gunn got us, I think you will find that a lot of people were happy that we got a decent champ player in. Yes, as my friends have alluded he is a confidence player, but he has the quality for champ let alone league 2. I doubt he will come back as he is a northern lad, shame.
Manchester is only a few hours away not a million miles away, if these so called footballers are unsettled because they are few hours away from where they were born then they need to get a grip!

 17.

what a joke thread ,norwich have at least 6 players on £5000+ a week...........FACT
these players of course told you what they earn didnt they? jas :)
We went down, I agree with you 100%, People seem to forget that some players signed contracts while we were in The Championship. Also £3000 to £5000 a week is not as much as it seems when you take into account the length of a footballers career.
 18.
lomng gone are the days where players got Tuppence Ha''penny and had to run a hotel by the seaside to make any living.. Stanley Matthews did that at Blackpool. jas :)
1500 a week is hardly film star wages..is it?
 19.
Has the menu at Delia''s Restaurant been cut back to reflect the recession and our third division status? Or is it business as usual? Just asking. OTBC
Why dont you pop in and treat yourself to a bite to eat and a nice bottle of wine??    That way we will not have to read another pointless!!   Macca
 20.
even NOTTS COUNTY have had a consortium take over....unreal poor little old naarich DELIAR!!!!
CTID, have you thought that just maybe Norwich are NOT an ideal investment and therefore why would anyone including a consortium want to invest in a Company that they feel will not give them the required returns on any investment, Would you invest your hard earned cash into "little naarich"??? And before the reply comes back that you do already because you are season ticket holder, we all know that a season ticket is not an investment. The sooner people realise that in the current climate even the wealthy are tightening their Finacial belts so if anyone thinks we have much if any chance of someone investing in our club (for the right reasons) then in my opinion they are badly mistaken! I do not post on here often but look on the board every day and it seems that a few on here have opinions on here on how to run a Business without actually having run a business themself ..(And i dont mean a 1 man Ltd Co). On a final note, CTID i am sure you know hundreds of would be investors who would want to invest their hard earned cash in a Div 1 football team so why dont you go ahead and introduce them to the board??   Macca
 21. Serbian striker Goran Maric will be joining the City squad on their Scottish tour. The 25-year-old is on the books at Celta Vigo, but spent the 2008/09 season on loan at Barcelona B, where he scored 11 goals in 33 games.
 22.

I can''t believe that people have been sat around indoors waiting all day for a press conference. Went out at 10am and have had 5 hours round the beautiful North Norfolk coast, sipping drinks, eating ice creams admiring the views. Now going to watch ''''I hate anything English'''' Murray play his quarter final game.
i know how sad, ive been sitting in norwich airport waiting for a helicopter since 12, theres really nothing else i can do,
You wanted to work for Amec
