1.
Sorry Canaryone, how do you know how quickly Bournemouth wrapped up Afobe? There''s been whispers for ages. Ultimately, no new signings anywhere have yet been available to play a PL game for their new side so we''ve missed out very little time-wise. I''d much prefer we get who we want rather than who happens to be available early. If SN does sign in the next 48 hours we''d have signed 4 before the middle of the month.
Do you really believe we know who we want Branston  ? i didnt hear the managers interview yesterday but most on wotb last night were saying he sounded a bit down at missing out on Afobe . All the center back links now seem to have gone dead yet Alex himself said he wanted the targets in early as to not miss the January games . To be honest i think this window is going exactly the same way as the summer one .As for Bournemouth whether they have been after him all along who knows but a couple of days after it broke in the media and he is their player , we could do a lot worse than take a leaf out of their book .
2. Afobe is a risk no doubt about that but i would have rather took that risk than stick with the strikers we have now who all seem to be goal shy .We have tried the cheap and cheerful approach many times and we always end up relegated .
3. Haller is about the best we can hope for now but that link seems to have gone cold lately , Bournemouth have shown with Afobe just how quickly a transfer can be completed if you really want a player we always seem to make a drama out of it . Ten days and we still have not wrapped up the youngster from York and he is not even under contract to them .
4. We still need an out and out goalscorer in this window , none of Mbokani,Jerome or Grabban are remotely up to the job they just do not score anywhere near enough goals . Just keep your fingers crossed we do not bring in Dwight Gayle , what a complete waste of money that would be .
5. Medical tomorrow at Bournemouth , doubt we will get anything better and will probably end up with the worse than useless Dwight Gayle with Grabban still here as well .
6.
Wolves said they won''t sell him, maybe that''s why they tried our resolve with Grabban
Telegraph saying the deal will be done this weekend, missed a great chance to offload a waste of space and probably improved Bournemouth at the same time.. dear oh dear .
7. Crazy decision to turn down what is stupid money for an average Championship striker , serves us right if they take their money and outbid us on a striker we may be interested in , Big opportunity missed to get a heap of cash and weaken a rival .
8.
I would rather give him away to a lower league club than sell him to a Premier League club.
Why Grabban would not improve any Prem club in fact i would love to see him hampering Bournemouth''s survival chances .
9. Naismith by a mile , Gayle is just another overpriced Peterborough export and no surprise Palace want rid even though they are short up front .
10.
Palace want him to replace Gayle who is coming to us.
Dear God i hope we do not sign Gayle , nowhere near Premiership standard and way below what we already have , would rather recall Hooper .
11. £3 million may have been peanuts for the Ruddy of three or four years ago but a very decent price for the Ruddy of the last two seasons who has been no better than average at best .
12. Linked with a move for Berahino now , that has to be the most ridiculous one by a country mile .Its the Afobe type of player that we would stand a chance of getting , players looking for a step up .
13. Well according to a Football Italia article he is going to snub Norwich and play for less money at Bologna .So it all starts again just like in the summer .
14.
£8 Million is a lot of money for us and for that kind of money I''d expect it to be a player who is one of the ''first names on the team sheets''I''m not sure Naismith is that player.
You don''t get much for £8 million these days so its about the right price , still wouldn''t expect Naismith to be as effective playing for City as he is in that star studded Everton line up . We still need a new striker somebody who scores on a regular basis , Jerome,Mbokani and Grabban just do not do that .
15. We still need an out and out striker whether it is Haller or Afobe  .
16. Biggest worry is you just know Villa are going to get another win soon and they have a pretty good record against us . Four points from the next two is a bare minimum .
17. I would not want Gayle if Palace were giving him away no better than what we already have .
18. Just looking at the News Now site and it says bid rejected , all a bit familiar .
19. Having plenty of eggs in your basket is fine as long as those eggs are good enough , lets take a look at our striking eggs on the books Wolfswinkle , Hooper , Lafferty , Grabban , Jerome and Mbokani , thats plenty of eggs but the only one imo who could do a job in the top flight is Hooper . Quality over quantity has to be the way its up to the Board to get defenders ,strikers and midfielders that are good enough for the league we are playing in otherwise we all know what will happen .
20.

With Simione Zaza saying he will stay at Juventus and this lad saying he prefers to stay in Holland are we yet again targeting players we have very little chance of landing .
When did he say this? I only ask because I have found a quote from August when Sunderland were interested that is the standard "I am just concentrating on my football and not getting worked up about rumours" guff. But nothing recently that says he specifically prefers to stay with Utrecht rather than join Norwich City.
It was in the first article i read the other day , said he would prefer to remain in Holland and move to Ajax .
21. Do you not think if we had a striker at the club anywhere near as good as Austin Alex Neil would be playing him ? As for price we were supposed to have bid around 10 or 12 million for Afobe in the summer  that''s a young player with no top flight experience so surely if we could afford that another 2 or 3 million on Austin would be the better buy .
22. £15 million for a striker in this league is chicken feed if you bring in cheap you get what we have now 4 or 5 strikers on the books and not one of them anywhere near good enough . We should decide if we want to be a top flight club or not .
23. With Simione Zaza saying he will stay at Juventus and this lad saying he prefers to stay in Holland are we yet again targeting players we have very little chance of landing .
24.
Here''s why I wouldn''t want us to buy Austin:1) Too expensive - we also need a CB with the seemingly limited funds we''re allowed to spend2) Injury prone - Imagine spending say £15 million for him to spend most of the season on the bench?3) He''s not a huge improvement on Mbokani - Mbokani has shown enough to warrant more appearances but hasn''t featured as much and the strikers in general haven''t been given great service.
He is not expensive , in fact for a proven Prem scorer he is cheap Injury can happen to any player , what if we pay £15 million and he keeps us upHe is a massive improvement on Mbokani who cannot even get game time in the team at the moment , Austin can head a ball and has a good shot on him no evidence as yet that Mbokani can .
25. Yes from me , kept a much weaker squad than the one Neil now has in the top flight , Villa have been a relegation waiting to happen for years and two managers since Lambert have so far feared no better and going by their position a whole lot worse .Lambert is the best manager Norwich have had for years took a league 1 side up to the Prem and kept them there , Alex Neil took on the best squad in the Championship and moved them up a few places to third then won the play offs hardly a comparable achievement .Even with the weak squad we have now Lambert i feel would have kept us up this season while right now its hard to picture when Neil will get another win let alone enough points for survival , coming up to Christmas and we have managed to beat Sunderland ,Swansea , and Bournemouth , not good enough even by Hughtons standard .
