1. Personally I think the part that is missing from a lot poster''s discussion is that Delia clearly expects at least her investment in the share capital back and possibly a return on those shares.  I suspect that a straw poll of those fans who invested in the share issue a few years ago would agree that they realised they would never see their money again. Now I am not suggesting that Delia and MWJ get nothing in return for their shares or loans.  However to invest in a football club, unless you are talking about the money-making enterprise that is Man U, is an emotional investment more than a true financial investment.  They cannot expect to make a significant, if any, return on their investment. They have run the football club as a business and in a lot of ways that is admirable.  But not everyone will respect this and as such, with a limited market, they will have to accept that they will get non-business like offers.
 2. Ignoring the odd spattering of doom and gloom in this thread I do agree that GR has done a fantastic job with very little funds.  My only concern would be that with the ''belt now tightening'' is that Glenn must be thinking about his options.  If he doesnt have any money to spend in January (pessimistic but it seems hard to see anything else at present) then he might not want to spend another six months potentially damaging his reputation. It has to be a healthy relationship between the board and the manager and at the moment GR is not being given the tools he needs and probably deserves.  Dont get me wrong I dont think that Delia and MWJ are to blame, just that football has moved on and unfortunately their pockets are not as deep as we would like them to be.

 4. I think if fans do have a problem with Cureton then it is best they voice it on message boards, in the pub etc. rather than letting the frustration spill over at the ground in the form of booing etc (which i think to any player, let alone a striker, is pretty destructive). When he is on the pitch he is city through and through like any other player in green and yellow, off the pitch if he isnt performing I reserve the right to tell whoever I like. My thoughts on Cureton are that there are plenty of players that only strike gold for one or two seasons in their career and Cureton is one of those and the gold has run out.......
 5.

3 options ASDA Dunstan Hall Morrisons
lol....as many did last week i went to the game...and it was so obviouse that we needed a big man up there to hold the ball up when we did have to go long and give us that bit xtra in the box...we did get some balls into that area... im just getting so frustrated with the whole saga
Now City till you expire, why do we need a BIG man up front? do you want to see a lumbering stumblebum type of striker? well I don''t ,this type of player is everything I abore ,I want to see a player that can play the ball , a player that can hold the ball with skill , can play with his back to the goal with aplomb , Do you remember when we were really good in the early 90s well the striker we had then could play the way I have just described his name was Chris Sutton ,now how many goals did Chris score with his head ? well I can tell you not many , because David Williams teams played the ball how it should be played , on the ground, I think Glenn''s idea''s are on the same lines , so just bide your time you lovely old City fans it will come right ....arrdee.
Arrdee, you always see things very rationally and I agree that a big player up front is not the type of football that Norwich fans like to see.  However there are two problems with this; the first is the competion.  We are up againsts bigger and stronger teams each year and need to compete on a physical level, maybe not a lump but someone strong who is able to hold up the ball.  The second problem is the way the team is set up; hoolahan aside who seems best through the middle imho, we play increasingly with one or two wingers and have no height in the box to be able to capitalise on the crosses that come in. So although I abhor the big man also I think it is a necessary evil these days in the championship and is also the final piece in our current squad.
 6.
good news - link
Less like good news and more like indifferent news.  I agree with a few of the posters; in sofar as I cannot see what Clingan gives us that Fozzy doesnt already (although Fozzy isnt playing very well at the moment.    I also wonder how Roeder intends to accomodate Hoolahan into the midfield (which I think he must) as he plays just off the front two, doesnt track that effectively and we are effectively playing 4-3-1-2 when he is playing.  i dont think that a midfield with Clingan and Fozzy is suited to that - I think we need one of Rusty or Pattison (cant believe I am saying this!) in the midfield to mop up.
 7. There was quite a bit of booing, but i would never boo at our fans.  That''s my choice and I respect the other fans'' choice to voice their opinion - personally I don''t think it helps the team. I cant imagine it was anything to do with Delia, just raw emotion direction at a team that didnt have any belief or the balls to do what they are paid thousands a week to do.
 8.
Coventry was unlucky and by the sounds of things so was last night
Polar, we were in no way unlucky last night.  There were missed chances (2) but passing it round the back all day doesnt create chances.  I dont think fans would be so worried about the season if we fielded a weak team but despite Roeder''s comments that some players were carrying ''knocks'' we gave it everything we had in terms of team selection and we came up short - by a long way. I hear what you are saying about the mickey mouse cup but we tried and we failed; if we play like we did last night in the league the best we can hope for is 0-0.
 9. The trouble everyone has with semmy, same trouble I have with him, it that he has so much more to give.  Defending - he doesnt close down quick enough because he relies on his pace too much.  Going forward he has got so much pace but always checks back.  I think he lacks in confidence but it seems to be improving. Give him time and i think going forward he will be the business.  Might be better suited to right-mid though as others have said.

 11.

He''s got his punishment now lets let him get on with his career. Despite some of the holier than thou attitudes from some on here I would be willing to bet good money that 90% of the posters on this board will have driven the morning after a night out when they probably shouldn''t have, particularly when we were younger. Not condoning it just saying that it could have happened to many of us and I suspect most would not lose their jobs over it.
Yes possibly many of us have drive the morning after but probably after maybe a few pints up till around midnight and then driving around 8-9am, in which case you''d need to be drinking very quickly or all day long to be twice over the legal limit. But 4.30am in not "last night" and only 4 hours later he''s driving, now even a footballer can do the maths for that one! However, what is done is done, no-one harmed and let''s hope it is a lesson to him and others.
I agree - this is a long way removed from the morning after a night out.  If he had got in at midnight I doubt he would have thought it OK to drive at 4am! Hopefully all the talk of we''ve all done it, and it could have been one of us can stop now that we know the facts.
 12.
You know what I find very sad, the amount of people on here who would have him hung, drawn and quartered on newspaper gossip, yes thats right, it''s hearsay, because NO ONE but Matty knows the truth, FACT. I have been affected by drunk driving personally, and was very lucky to walk away with bruises and scratches, but this happened long before any drink drive charges were ever being thought about.  Do I think Matty should be punished, of course, but by the law and not by people (us) who are really in no position to take the moral high ground. I wonder, not that they would hold their hands up and admit, but I wonder just how many of the older posters on this forum had a few to drink at a party in the 50''s, 60''s, and 70''s and got in a car to drive home????  Quite a few more than would care to admit, so those that will admit it, now ask yourselves should you have been put in prison for it? Far too many self righteous people on here just lately.
I dont believe it is self righteous to have a discussion about what we think about it - saying that is as sensationalist as saying he should be dropped.  He has however been charged with drink driving - if he is not proven guilty this will be a minor miracle. The point no-one seems to be discussing is are they happy with a 1st team player p!ssing it up in the middle of the season?  It isn''t as if we are cruising either, before Saturday''s game things were not looking too rosy at all. I for one am not too keen on a public display of support for a player who doesn''t respect the fact that when you are paid a few hundred thousand a year you have to forfeit certaing priveleges.  Getting hammered is one!
 13.
ok - so its a tight league, and any team can beat any other on their day - but the standard of the champs has improved in the past few years imo. colchester reminded me of teams from 6 years ago or so - who used to come to carra rd, and the expectation was we''d beat em, and mostly we did, they would huff and puff - then run outa steam, and we''d do em by the 2nd half.  the champs was littered with ordinary sides, and our big gate still counted then, so we had a squad with genuine top 6 ambition.  now - you can see, many sides have invested and strengthened, and this season we''ve not seen any easy peasy games down carra rd, until yesterday.  without genuine investment in our weakest squad since 1902 next season, its hard to imagine we''ll be reaching for the top 6 (we''re just an ordinary side now and thats the truth) - and sides coming to FCR will do so with hope of getting points.  we''ll need a good spend just to stay in this division!!!
Nah, you only have to look at the spread of points across the league, the constant changes at the top and the amount of teams that ''could'' end up in relagation to realise that the standard this season is truly ordinary. Horrible horrible football a lot of the time.
 14.

Can anybody explain why he was treated like some kind of hero today?
I totally agree with you Jim, pity others who have replied have missed the point. Of course I supported Pattison this afternoon but no more and no less than on any other occasion. Fact is would Pattison have had that pretty nauseating show of affection from ...''all the lads'' had he NOT been caught drink driving? No, of course not. I have never seen anything like that sort of reaction before when a Norwich player has been subbed. You get the odd pat on the back and that''s it.    I''m not saying we or his team mates should snub him but why did they not carry on as before, why go deliberately out of their way to show that public support?  This has nothing to do with ...''never making a mistake'' (as some call it), anyway was it ''a mistake''? The reaction of the players was predictable yet disturbing. It was an attitude typical of today''s society .i.e.'' lets ignore the crime this guy''s committted, he was just unucky to get caught''.
Agree with you both.  I think that nobody is saying that ''there before the grace of god fall I'', but the thing is that he has done wrong (both to the club and in the eyes of the law). Whether they like it or not, professional football players, who are rewarded handsomely, live their lives in the public eye.  What the players and the Roeder have done wrong in my eyes is to publically support the player.  They may well choose to provide support to Pattison, behind the scenes (in fact I would believe they should), but in the face of the public they certainly shouldnt be seen to be doing this. I will of course always support our players on the pitch.
 15. Yes you are probably right as that is how passion works.  If you have passion about something, yes you will make a noise, but there will also be times when your reaction is not very intelligent and perhaps disproportionate. I should know I am guiltier than most! [:P]
