1.
Good evening Nutty in such a sad week for us PUPs. A tragedy to lose Michelle at such a young age and is surely the saddest time for us since the passing of Ray Ducker. No doubt that they both will be watching down on this thread and hope it continues to thrive under your stewardship Nutty assisted by all us lovely PUPs.My thoughts are with Ian and the rest of the family as no number of words can begin to describe their loss.Onwards and upwards this week with Snake and KC and my pick is a HOME WIN for ASTON VILLA v Burton. For the Norwich bet 0-0.In memory of Michelle i will ask you Nutty to please put £10 on these picks from me which i hope will turn into a few more quid for the pot which i know Michelle would approve of being such a staunch supporter of our efforts with the CSF.FULHAM to beat Forest at home.WIGAN to beat Gillingham at home.JUVENTUS to beat Sassuolo at home.AJAX to beat NAC Breda at home.NAPOLI to beat Benevento away.BAYERN MUNICH to beat Mainz away.
This probably won''t work as I am on the road on the way to Florida. I echo all of the input from Mr. Tilson in terms of the loss of Michelle. I also liked everything about Mr. Tilson''s selections this week so I will add another tenner to his selections in honour of Chelle. ( I will get the money to you in a few days Nutty after I arrive in Florida. ) My selection this week is also Aston Villa to beat Burton Albion.
 2. Brighton are in free fall and, if their form of the past few months continues, they will quickly become favored to go down.
 3. The Premiership season has been a brutal one for managers to date. Chris Hughton has now seen his team yield the fewest points of any team in the top tier over almost three months, barely averaging a little more than half a point per game. Scoring goals has been a problem and that isn''t made any easier by the news on Glenn Murray and tax evasion charges. After failing to date to sign players they were strongly interested in Hughton turned to the Dutch league, once again, to secure the services of a highly touted striker, Jurgen Locadia, for approximately 14 million pounds.Hughton has, of course, been down a very similar path with us. Their next handful of league matches, on paper,  present Brighton with an opportunity to pick up much needed points ( beyond that, their schedule toughens up).If they fail to do so they will undoubtedly become the favourite for relegation in the eyes of the pundits. Do you think Brighton will persevere with Chris Hughton or will the pressure to act  and make a change become too great? My own view is that Brighton will be playing Norwich next season in the Championship, without Hughton at the helm.
 4.
Ive not seen the story but I’d imagine that the reality is that he is the face of a consortium that’s looking to buy a club?
Golly! What must the other end look like then?
 5.
We should find our players up the local park then, no transfer fee and will play for a free meal
Perhaps that''s where you should watch games then. No admission fee and you can throw the players a bag of peanuts when you want them to run faster.
 6. Went from Huddersfield to Birmingham but actually transferred at Manchester. I don''t know if this beast has striker potential but he certainly knows how to run the lines without support.https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/907381/Dog-travelled-train-alone-Birmingham-New-Street-changed-Huddersfield-missing-appeal
 7.
I like to give credit where credit''s due. Lincoln is Premier League in comparison with the closet binners on this board. I had a thoroughly enjoyable two and a half hours on Wednesday watching my team do themselves, the club and genuine supporters everywhere proud; that''s time lincoln spent hating what he saw while generating a stream of dismissive, negative posts with no other purpose than trying to pour as much cold water on events as possible. And people tell me I''ve too much time on my hands and need to get a life?
Actually, you do appear to have too much time on your hands lately and are spending that time here and elsewhere poring cold water on others.Perhaps you''re being neglected at home. Regarding this thread, Lincoln does come across negatively but to suggest that he hated what he saw is wrong. There are fans of all clubs who wring their hands in a such a manner but they still love their club. Some people laugh out loud at a scene in a movie while others don''t see it as being funny. A number of posters obviously think you''ve started a weird thread while one or two think it''s fine. It''s all good but I''d suggest you avoid being loose with the word "hate".
 8.

Do you really think I don''t know the difference between sales and profits? Of course, I will grant that you that I should have stated "Examples of sales during the past 3-4 seasons...." but do you really think that Southampton did not make a great profit on the five examples I cited which, after all, is the essence of the point I was making? Of course you don''t, so stop being small minded just so you can have a little dig.
What was suggesting that Stuart Webber needs to "sniff the negotiating air" at Saints other than a small minded dig made even cheaper by failing to point out that, if Maddison were to be sold for 20M, the club would have made a profit of more than 17M -- considerably more than Saints realised on the sale of Chambers and Lovren and, given that both Lallana and Shaw had already proven themselves not just in the EPL but also internationally, by no means out of line with the profit realised on those two players.
Listen to me you little toad, anyone with half a brain ( even that plateau might be a stretch for you ) would know that over the decades Southampton have done a much better job than Norwich City at generating profit from player sales, whether from academy development or acquisition and re-sale. This is not a negative ( or a dig ) against Norwich because most clubs throughout the league would be admirers of the Southampton approach. The evidence is there for anyone that has a knowledge of the subject. It''s an overall perspective. I don''t have to justify my love of Norwich City to the likes of you so wind your neck in.
 9.

Perhaps we should send our chief negotiator  to Southampton to sniff the "negotiating air " down there.Apart from the recent outrageous number they were able to secure for van Dijk they have a history of making great profit from their sales.Examples during the past 3-4 seasons have included:Luke Shaw 30 MMCalum Chambers 12 MM ( ??? )Dejan Lovren 20 MMAdam Lalanna 25 MMSeems to me prices have gone up from the time these players were sold. Sometimes, some people have not been schooled in thinking in big number terms and start out with too low of an expectation.
Since when did "transfer fee" mean "profit"? Do you really think that, just because Shaw, Chambers and Lallana were graduates of the Saints academy, what they were sold for (reportedly) represents the club''s profit on them?
Do you really think I don''t know the difference between sales and profits? 10.
just imagine what we could do with all that money.........................be one point above the relegation places, as S''oton are
Get back into your bed on the EU thread.

Wow!! If Southampton, e,g., were to lay their hands on Maddison for a sum that''s below that then they potentially set themselves up for another good sized payday in the future. They just realized more than 60 MM profit on van Dijk. I''ve got a long memory and I still not regret the sale of Ron Davies to Southampton for 55,000 pounds. Because Southampton and Norwich were promoted together to the old second level I always tend to benchmark us against them.

 13.
What a marvellous display of ignorance. I think you’ll find that Alexander the Great was as gay as a maypole. No plastics required. It’s nothing new.
I think this is discriminating against the maypole.
 14. If you use a lot of imagination you can almost see Ipswich Crazy commentary......post surgery.
 15. Godfrey clearly looks the part. It''s all about opinions I know, however, I think a few of you are being premature in your judgment of Carlton Morris. He has just turned 22, he''s a good size, and he clearly had to put himself about on the wings as well as down the middle. If we have a good group of players coming together over the next season or two and Morris learns a bit more guile, I think he could be formidable down the middle.
 16. Despite a lot of good suggestions from the Pups I could not navigate my way to a winning combination. Just as well then that it is my selection that let''s us down on the League group. Now it''s on to the tasty part that is the prospect of the Canaries upsetting Chelsea. Not likely, I know, but it wasn''t likely when I stood on the terraces at the same time in 1959 and, as third level side, we sent Manchester United home with their tails between their legs.
 17. Thanks Diane but bad luck had nothing to do with it. I watched the match and, quite frankly, Leicester were too pathetic for me to be disappointed. Not one shot on target by Leicester. During the last 10 minutes, when it was clear Leicester had no intention of attacking their opponents goal, I actually found myself rooting for Fleetwood to score, and they almost did.
 18. Nutty, I should have added that I listed substitutes in the event of a postponement and should there be time to inject a substitute.
