1.
Huddersfield & MK.
MK go away. No football fan should want them to win anything
 2.
Another thing i love is the reaction of Lappin everytime we concede. He seems to take every goal personally. Works hard every game. I think he could well become a legend.
Lappin is just rather theatrical. He dives, he makes the most of every foul against him, argues with referees, pretends he''s Maradona at the 1994 World Cup when we score, and throws his arms around when we concede.
 3.
I can see what you are saying, and to most respects I agree. But, you pay peanuts and you get monkeys. Look back at the pre Sky days and how crap the standard was, and how awful most grounds were. Sky money has turned football into a polished, globally marketable product.I definitely think that a lot of clubs are starting to realise that they have been spending beyond their means, and all the money seems to be available in the Spanish and Italian leagues again, it seems to go in cycles. Some people could argue that it was better back in the good old days, but thats their choice, some peoples views can get tainted by nostalgia.
Some people''s views can get tainted by superficial nonsense.
 4. Absolute rubbish. I''m fairly certain the board would have noticed we lost 7-1, even if two idiots hadn''t ran on the pitch. I''m fairly certain the boos of twenty-odd thousand had more of an impact, along with the fact the board saw how spectacularly crap it all was.
 5.
de waard for me :PAlthough in all seriousness Fuglestad was a very capable LM though never seemed to get picked there. Or is that 90s??
Agreed, I was brilliant for at least one home game playing LM, then never played there ever again, kept playing me at left back. Simon Lappin''s got nothing on me...
 6. I can''t remember which season but either 93/94 or 94/95 we beat Newcastle 2-1 at home. They bombarded us all game but we held out for a win.Ashley Ward scoring two on his debut was pretty good.5-1 I think against Everton when Efan Ekuku scored four.Beating Villa 2-1 in 1993, Polston scored the day after his son was born, Garry Palker missed a ridiculous open goal.Though I''m not sure if it was a classic, I''d love to see the game against Crewe when we won the league, Iwan''s penalty(s), left footed goal and the friendly pitch invasionHuckerby vs. Muskat (Norwich v Millwall)  from the championship winning season. last game of playoff season - Malky''s two headed goals to put us in the playoffs.5-3 away to Burnley in the championship winning season - the moment I knew we''d win the league.
 7. I think you''re right, they will probably go as soon as they are offered a decent Championship side, hopefully they will turn us into a decent Championship side before this happens, and will see no reason to leave. It would be illogical to expect much loyalty given their recent history.
 8.
Why are people scared of ''Uddersfield? If we can play leeds off the park and be unlucky not win then i see no reason to fear HTFC
Have you seen their management team? Presumably it was only Roeder who was holding them back. They''d presumably know our side pretty well.
 9.

Dion ? He was great for us and the statistics are not great for a striker but he spent much of his time at centre back.
Indeed. And what an absolute waste that was. Dion was poor at centre back. He looked good because he''d win headers, but he lost his man time and time again. We''d go 0-2 and the Granty would stick him up front to try and get us back in the game. Dublin should always have started at centre forward which is where he was brought in to play. If we''d have got Hulse or Howard we''d never have signed Dublin.
I have very fond memories of going to Leicester away a few years ago on a new years eve game. In reading the program notes their manager was bemoaning their lack of a target man, what they really needed, he said, was a strong and physically imposing striker, with a good goalscoring record. He''d been playing Dion at centre back all season! Madness. I have never been able to take Craig Levine seriously ever since.
 10. I would have no problems with Milton Keynes having a football club, or anybody supporting a newly formed club but they essentially bought their league status. They and the FA have p!ssed all over the entire football pyramid. It''s all very well to say they would be in League 1 by now and Wimbledon would be non-league if they had been allowed to continue, but it didn''t bloody happen. By that logic, I can say Man City will probably win a title in the next ten years so why not award them one now. Allowing Milton Keynes to jump straight into the football league is an insult to every football club, city, town and village below them in the pyramid. Why could they not simply form a club, with massive financial backing and start in a league below the Conference? If they''re good enough they''ll get successive promotions to the football league within a few years. This is the whole point of football, you get into a division because you have earnt it on the pitch. They would have had five years or so of hammering everyone in sight, all these new fans would have had a jolly knees up watching cricket scores and they''d be in the football league fair and square. Maybe then, people wouldn''t justifiably dislike them. I think that I''d still want to kick Paul Ince in the balls though.
 11.
" if notts county can get someone with a big fianancial clout behind them" Problem is the league hasn''t actually sorted out who is behind them. At the moment it is some shadowy offshore group called QADBAK. Off course their intentions are purely honourable and in no way invovles anykind of dodgy dealing - which cannot be said of others who previously owned the club. Namely one Russel King a convictee fraudster. King is linked to a company, the Belgravia Group, that is the subject of a criminal investigation in Jersey, as is Nathan Willett, the son of Peter Willett, a club director. Now why would these benevolent ''investors'' pick a basket case of a club ? For it''s obvious potential or, as with our impoverished neighbours, it has little choice and is in no position to turn down anyone. Of course no such naughty people exist. They are ''investors''. Cue angelic music, pictures of kittens and warm glow all round. Well, maybe Robert Maxwell, the ex chairman of Exeter City and his deputy, Livingston Football Club chairman Dominic Keane''s, Derby County three, Swindon Town chairman, Brian Hillier, and its accountant, Vivian Farrar, Queens Park Rangers director Flavio Briatore, Luton''s chairman Bill Tomlins, ex-finance director Derek Peter and current directors John Mitchell and Richard Bagehot, Pompey''s Peter Storrie, Leeds Risdale, Brighton Bill Archer........... And maybe the likes of Newcastle''s Ashley should oerhaps suggest that people with money did not get that money by being nice or a soft touch. We are not a basket case but I''m sure there''s plenty out there who could make it that way. And sadly a few on here who would have us that way.
Completely agree. One to add to your list would be Dave Richards who was chairman at Sheffield Wednesday throughout their ridiculous overspending and subsequent decline in the 1990s, before  somehow being appointed Chairman of the Premier League a few months before Wednesday were relegated. He was presenting Man United the trophy at Old Trafford the day Wednesday went down, something he was largely responsible for.
 12. Fair enough, he has quietened down in recent weeks, I''m fairly sure at least 4 of those assists were in two of Lamberts first few games. For me he falls over way too easily, especially for a "central midfielder". Is always looking for the free kick.
 13.

Correct me if I''m wrong but we DID make a bid Seabourne, thus cancelling out your statement of FACT that the board will not give him a penny to spend.
OK the board have less than £100k to spend on the 3 or 4 additions that Lambert would like to make to the squad. There does that make you happier?  It may as well be nothing!!! [:P]
Just suppose you had a million pounds, would you run straight into tesco and offer half a million for all the loaves on their bread isle? McNally is negotiating sensibly, trying to get the best deal for the club. Delia has no real power to deny McNally or Lambert, if she was as bad as you say she is, either of them could resign and the board''s position really would be untenable. Presumably there is a pot and McNally is managing it. None of us will ever bloody know because transfer fees are not disclosed.
 14.
She is majority shareholder though and she has admitted to her error in backing Gunny this summer. She has now employed a new manager and if she expects results to change then she needs to back him with HER cash! If she wants to leave the club with any dignity left whatsoever then the time to do that is this week before things get ugly after another possible defeat to Charlton on Saturday.
Are you back on the crack again? She is joint majority shareholder, not majority share holder. We are not even in a transfer window. Surely it is better to play "hard-ball" over the fee, that is how negotiations work, and this is how McNally will be going about business. Hopefully not doing what you seem to desire and throwing hundreds of thousands at a club who will give in for much less by January, given that Seabourne for one is out of contract at the end of the season. Why does it all have to be about the size of the transfer fee? Especially given these are not even disclosed and all your figures are based on Archant''s or your own guesswork.
 15.
Another great Bryan Gunn signing. Along with Tudor Jones, Whaley and that useless Gill bloke. Should have been packed off back to the other side of the world immediately after the Colchester debacle. His attitude is a disgrace. You''d think the one signing Gunn would get right would be the goalkeeper. Just proves how deluded and out of his depth Gunn was when he applied for the job. The lowest point in the club''s history by a country mile.
While I''m sure the wonderful Ian Crook had nothing to do with signing him.
 16.
No. 2 games dont make up for a shocking 4 seasons. Hes clumsy and more suited to rugby. I noticed one of the reasons he played better is the other players used him as a last option when looking for someone to pass to.
He hasn''t had four shocking seasons though has he? That''s just stupid. He has won player of the season and at least four managers (of sorts) have seen him as the better of our centre backs. Roeder aside, these people aren''t completely stupid. They along with their staff see the Doc for what he is, a solid, consistant centre back, who lacks skill but will get the ball out when needed. He is far superior to Nelson or Spillane at centre back. If we can get a genuinely better centre back on less money in January then fine, but I don''t think there are many, anyone seen any genuinely better than Doc playing in League 1?
 17. Doherty and Askou and the best centre back pairing, anyone who thinks Nelson is better than the Doc hasn''t seen him play or is deluded. I think part of the problem with Doc is that he''s bald and ugly and people don''t like that in new, clean, shiney, skyfootball.
 18.
There was only 2 players Gunn had bought who were in the starting lineup. There was as many from Glenn Roeder''s reign, shall i start a thresd thanking Glenn for the 4-0?
I know the point you''re trying to make but there was only one Roeder signing in the starting line-up (Wes Hoolahan). Roeder is a complete tw@t, Gunny isn''t and I think it''s a shame people are so personally insulting towards him. I think there must be, but off the top of my weary brain I cannot think of any player other than Hoolihan who was signed by Roeder who is still at the club.
 19.

I can''t help but feel that you''re missing the point here Bob.  Constantly complaining about Bryans'' dismissal and pointing out all the wonderful things he did like bringing in all the lovely new players that he couldn''t manage will not get him his job back.  Life has moved on, and unless you want to become a very bitter person, I suggest you do too.
Looks like Gunn is responsible for all the good things the squad do (weeks after his dismissal), but Lambert and McNally are responsible when we play badly. Seems fair and reasonable. Still, I expect Bob has forgotten the Charlton away (and 4 game before that) and Colchester home performances.
By the same token there are a lot more people claiming Gunn was an imbecile and everything good that happens is down to Lambert and McNally. Gunn made some very good signings this summer and should be given credit for this. Lambert has come in and got the team performing very well and should be given credit for this.
 20.

I believe he stood firm regarding Hoolahan, not wanting to sell him, p____d off a certain self-important Scotsman who was of course gifted the opportunity of getting rid of Gunn because of the Colchester one-off result.
If it''s so clear that Gunn stood firm against the selling of Hoolihan, how come he''s still here?!!!! As for Roeder, I think he might well have kept us up, and then hopefully sacked at the end of the season. I don''t believe the Charlton performance would have happened under him.
Well, many sh!te performances did happen under him. Including one against Charlton. You can believe what you like but no City fan should be sticking up for Glenn Roeder, he''s done so much more damage to us than Gunn. Even if Roeder had kept us up, what kind of a squad would we have now. I truly believe we are in a better position now, even if we are in League 1, having signed some proffessional footballers. Roeder released Huckerby and he sold Joe Lewis amongst others to bring in Matty Pattison. I can tell you one thing I believe. We would be in the Championship now if Huckerby had played for us last season, whoever was in charge.
 21.

According to EDP this morning, Roeder is tipped to be named as assistant to Sven at Notts County. If we have been paying his salary monthly, could the fact that he may be getting a new job save us some money ? It never ceases to amaze me how the same proven failures keep getting jobs, ie Bryan Robson for Thailand and John Barnes at Tranmere, this must give hope to Tony Adams and Glen Hoddle (even Bryan Gunn ?). It must also be frustrating for a rookie boss trying to get a new job.
It never ceases to amaze me how people like you regard Gunn as a failure. You name Roeder as a failure hence your thread. Gunn took over from your named failure just before the end of the January transfer window and with bugger all money to spend anyway and accepted the poisoned chalice and crap squad that was Roeder''s legacy, unsurprisingly did not succeed in reversing the slide to relegation, during the Summer shipped out much of the dross and players that didn''t want to wear the shirt, re-habbed a number of existing players (Lappin, Drury, Spillane, Martin) and brought in some excellent players - look at the players who performed so well on Saturday - had the misfortune of  a horrible one-off game (just like Moyes and look where Everton are now) and gets labelled a failure. I want Lambrini to be a success and despite his poor tally of  3 points  from 4 matches he must be given time to prove how good a manager he is - a luxury not afforded to Gunn. Lambast inherited a good squad of players from Gunn as witnessed by 5 - 2 against Wycombe and 2-0 away against Hartlepool and battling draws against Charlton and Gillingham so let''s hope he gains a maximum 6 points from our next two home games - anything less and questions will start to be asked as to his tactical and man-management skills.
How can we NOT call Gunn a failure, look where we are? He was a shocking manager. Roeder would have kept us up!
Roeder would not have kept us up.
 22.

Agree, too many people berating Doc who just seem to be following suit, Hes clumsy and prone to mistakes, but at the same time hes put in some solid performance. Considrering the alternatives (who I dont think have been that great) im suprised at the abuse the Doherty seems to get.
GrantRoedToDisaster, if D''OHerty signs and plays for a CCC team, you can rest assured we will be playing them next season if we don''t get promoted. SC, I find it amusing how people defend Dorkerty while at the same time admitting he is a clumsy oaf prone to errors. Really?  I mean, REALLY!?!?!?????[*-)]
That''s the way it is. Any player who has played for Norwich in recent years has some fundamental weaknesses to their game, as would most players in the lower leagues. Grant Holt is great, works his balls off and scores goals, but he is slow there is no point denying this. Doherty is great at heading it out and generally a solid defender as long as play is infront of him, but he is clumsy and slow to react. Darren Huckerby ran with the ball beautifully, but he couldn''t head the ball. Otsemobor is very quick and fairly robust but he has a three second time delay mal-function whenever he recieves the ball. Croft could run very fast with that crazed, demented look in his eyes, but he could not cross a ball to save his life. Lappin has a fantastic cross, but is slow, a bit light-weight at times, and he dives a lot. All the thousands of goalkeepers we''ve had since Green have been decent shot stoppers, but prone to bad kicking or flapping at crosses. All these players have done a job for Norwich City, some better than others, but even our greatest players have what could be considered serious flaws. So, Yes, REALLY!
 23.
Fair enough on the money. But he is a quality player, experienced, and a leader just what we need.
Just because he is big and a centre back doesn''t make him a leader. He walked out at half time in one match, and has just walked out on his club after one game ffs, hardly leading by example. I know it''s not gonna happen but I would be gutted if it did.
 24.
Would it not be a good idea to just terminate his contract? As I understand he is free to look for another club, but while he is doing that the club are still paying his wages, we can''t sell him untill January, and by then whos going to want him. Free up his wages and get some pace back into the team !
Ha ha ha, very good. You can''t just sack him, his contract would have to be paid up in full, unless he accepted a reduced fee to leave early, and I can''t see any reason why he would. Especially as it seems like Campbell he wouldn''t be able to sign for another club until January, if his contract was terminated.
 25.

I left early.  This was due to a new band of 17 year year old chavs who have decided to sit next to me this season, and talk constantly about Arsenal, even referring to them as "we", say c**t every other word, constantly shout for "cody to come on", keep pushing an older man who sits in front and also a complete dick who sits behind me, who thinks he''s a real "lad".  He always does that slap on the back thing to me, and talks about how his missus "is off shopping whilst I''m at the footbal/down the pub/eating a very hot curry" etc etc etc.  Please, stop talking to me.  Didnt really care less that I missed the goal, it was hardly a classic, and at least we got a point out of it.  We''d probably have lost if I''d stayed.  Back to my first point though, I''m really sick and tired of the Barclay now. I''ve stood/sat there for 20 odd years, but I think I''ve grown out of it.  Can''t be doing with the new chav occupants.
Probably an obvious thing to say but why don''t you enquire to the club about moving your seat to the Jarrold or N&P? I know you shouldn''t have to but if these ''people'' are ruining your matchday experience then perhaps you should take it into consideration.... I''ve highlighted another quote from yourself regarding the fact ''we would''ve lost if you''d stayed'' that''s an interesting theory, in that case maybe you should consider not coming at all if your presence has that determental effect on the team! I often think would the result of been different if I was not there or there, very strange theory but maybe something to think about next home match :)
Admittedly it was at least six years ago, but I moved my season ticket, mid-season, to a different area with no hassle or complications.
