  1. Probably not an idea to take too much notice of anything Lowe says. Small consolation that another Club is in a bigger mess than us.
  2. Just like he quashed the rumours about Lee Clark going to Huddersfield!
  3. And here was me thinking that this was a place to find some "semi-intelligent" football debate and discussion - fat chance. This thread is nothing but puerile nonsense and, in my view, has no place on here. Come on mods - wake up and terminate !
  4. In today''s EDP, Steve Gedge says that Lupoli was "miles offside" when he missed and Chris Lakey comments that he was "in an offside position and if he''d scored the flag would have gone up for offside". I did not even consider the prospect of offside at the time and having watched a replay of the incident, the following points are clear:- 1)    When Cureton shot (or passed), Lupoli was behind the ball 2)   There was also a defender (and the goalkeeper), closer to the goalline than Lupoli. Therefore, no way could he have been offside, hence the absence of an offside flag
  5. Having spent most of my working life as a professional in the world of finance, I have been able to view the ways in which a considerable number of rich people operate. Almost without exception, the priority is self-interest. This comment is not made as a criticism but we are deluding ourselves if we think that DS or PC are any different. Each party will be out for the very best deal they can get for themselves. The position of minority shareholders/supporters is practically irrelevant.
  6. No reasonable person would expect to know everything but I would most certainly expect to be made aware of a potentially major event such as the one under discussion where a fundamental change in the business could well be the result which, in turn, could produce a significant change in investments made. I believe that if we were a PLC there would be a legal obligation for such a proposal to be revealed. I can''t help feeling that the lack of information/communication shows what the true feelings are towards the minority shareholders.
  7. As a shareholder (albeit a fairly small one) in this business, I really do object to finding out about this offer by reading a story in the local press some nine months after the event. I would have thought that there is some obligation on the Board to report to the shareholders even if it is just to say "this is what the offer is and we have rejected it because .......". To say nothing, in my opinion, is treating the minority shareholders with complete disregard. We are constantly being told what wonderful supporters the Club has and how fortunate the Club is to have them. Talk is cheap and it appears that only a privileged few are allowed to know what is going on. It is not good enough !
  8. Did anyone notice that every time the PNE right back, Billy Jones, took a throw-in, he committed a foul throw by lifting his right foot several inches off the ground. The referee and his assistants merely looked and let him get on with it. Spotting something like this and taking action is a basic requirement for officials at every level (amateur, youth, etc), never mind the second tier of the professional game.
