1.
Definitely a pen for me. Forster doesn''t get the ball, therefore a foul irrespective of where the ball then goes. A goalkeeper can''t just flatten the man and get away with it. Not sure about the red card though - don''t think he deliberately denied a goal scoring chance. A pen and a yellow for me.
Doesn''t have to be delibrate. If it''s a foul then it''s a sending off. The offence is "denying an obvious goalscoring oppurtunity" mentions nothing about it being delibrate. If you deny a goalscoring oppurtunity you are off wheter your actions were delibrate or not.
 2.

I''m convinced after such an appauling performance that he gave us that holt goal as a form of an apology... Strange I know, but how many times have we seen that kind of ''goal'' been ruled out for some sort of foul on the keeper...i waited and waited for the whistle to blow for a foul but to me delight he gave the goal...would he have given it if the crowd wasn''t on his back the whole game for an inept performance?
You''re absolutely right Lord. I heard a few people saying the same on the way out. Referees are such cowards that they tend to bottle what they actually think and alternate the big decisions when they don''t know any better. The ref knew he''s got it properly wrong in not sending Bailey off for a shocker in the first half and clearly thought he would give us the doubt if another big decision came his way. On another day he would have given a cheap free-kick against the keeper, despite there not actually being a foul.
TBH that''s a load of bollocks. Tanner has reffed lot bigger games than this, I''m sure he didn''t care one bit about the crowd. But of course you need to be a coward to put yourself in a position where everyone hates you, sounds like cowardly behaviour to me.
 3. Pace is all he''s got. He''ll never make it as a pro.
 4.
I sit in block e in lower barclay and there is this chap who sits about 5 rows behind me and he is so annoying. He has this really annoying voice and he shouts all the time and he always makes these annoying chants up which just dont make any sense at all and no one actually joins him when he sings
Think that''s the guy two rows infront of me, the only one who ever laughs at his chants is the older guy next to him. It also annoys me when the fans in the Barclay start having a go at the Linesman for an offside decision, how the fuck can you judge it from behind the goal?
 5. but they don''t seem to want him as no one offers him a contract after his trial...
 6.
Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, Butterworth has confirmed that he has been asked to take charge again on Tuesday.
That would make sense even if a new man was unveiled today. The new man wouldn''t of seen the players and so Butterworth would be a better option for that match.
 7. I was told yesterday by a mate that she was selling 75% of her stake. The mate in question has never started a rumour before, but I am unsure as to how he would know this if it was true
 8.
There is no BBC Rotherham, BBC Sheffield covers the whole of south yorkshire
Exactly, and there is nothing on the Rotherham United BBC page
 9. I actually had a dream about a Norwich game 3 days ago, Lawrie Sanchez was manager. Maybe I can see the future.
 10.
If we get Coppell I would worship David McNally - he would clearly be the difference. Without him - Grant, Roeder, Gunn (all useless) Now let''s see who we get in with him.
If we get Coppell, I will kiss Delia infront of the Carrow Road crowd.
 11. Been my thinking as well. Something isn''t quite right with this decision.
 12. Coming up on SSN soon. Will be interesting to see what Theo says, Gunn will come out with the same shit though
 13.
Gonna go out on a limb and say he may not be an appalling keeper. It was an awful debut, that''s for certain but I think a combination of things got to him. For one I doubt he''s played in front of crowds size/volume very often, if ever. Then Semi''s horrible backpass (and it was truly horrible) dropped him right in it. From that point on he and most of the rest of the team were like rabbits in headlights. I think to single him out is unfair. 90% of the time the whole team let us down yesterday. Honourable mentions to Wes/Holt and Martin at times for at least looking like they might be professional footballers and to Adyemi and Cody when they came on. Other than them, Theoklitos was no worse than the rest of the team. Just looked worse because the buck stops with him. That said I would drop him for the few games at least, along with several others. But never play them again? I don''t think we can afford that!He did come highly recommended not just by Crook but by most impartial observers. A friend of mine who emigrated to Oz a few years back and follows their national leauge reckoned he looked like a decent aquisition and seemed suprised we''d managed to sign him.
Despite thinking he should be given another chance, the bolded statement is above as he comes from Melbourne Victory who averaged 41,089 fans last season.
 14.
Steve Tison for me.
A view on Steve Tilson by a Southend Fan"The legends that are Tilson and Brush: my viewTactics: Basically its 4-4-2 and any player any position, his tactical awareness is about as good as a blind cat. Tactics are not his strong point, its motivation of players, if he had tactical nous he would have been a Premier division manager a few years ago.Style of play: Its usually great we always try and get it down, pass and move and its been the same from day 1 with Tilson and Brush. The only time it goes wrong is when he plays a ''target man'' up front, then we tend to hoof it more than pass.Aims of the club: No idea what they are but we''ll exceed all expectations with the current managerial duo, as I said motivation is the strength.Budget: Our budget this season was a couple of breath mints and an umbrella so the fact we''ve managed to loan 4 players is beyond our wildest dreams.Currently the management are working with nothing and still doing a very decent job - a plea from everyone at Southend would be - Please don''t leave when Norwich get rid of Gunn."
 15. We did not have 5 attempts on targets, Williams made two saves I can remember, one from Adyembi one from a header
 16.
Well I doubt he will do the decent thing and walk........so I guess its down to the fans to do something !
We could take a leave out of the South Americans book and shoot him
 17.
The ref was terrible, as you''ve mentioned. I have to disagree with your view on Otsemobor. How can anyone get away with playing a backpass like that for the first?! Theoklitos was at fault for not punching, but he had to make a decision based on the terrible pass. He couldn''t come out and get it, it could and would have bounced over him. Owain Tudur Jones looked disinterested after 30 minutes. Lacklustre to say the least.
He couldn''t punch it as it was a back pass. In hindsight the freekick probably would''ve been better though
 18. I stayed till the end. Can''t work out why though. I was going to leave at one stage, looked at my watch and realised I''d just missed the train :(
 19. Out of the 13 who played these 3 are the only players who should be in the 18 on Wednesday
 20. I think Ipswich will spend the season flirting with the playoffs but never making a serious push, finishing 9th-10th
 21. Moving to a new seat, have sat in the Jarrold since it opened but will be in the Barclay next season. Will mean that in 10 years I''ve had a season ticket in all 4 stands. Can''t wait for this weekend. Meeting up with a mate at about 12, having lunch then heading for the ground, hopefully will see a home win then an evening of Football manager. Then getting up early on the Sunday to go ref a pre season friendly. Football based weekend for me :)
 22.

YY, to be honest if there was evidence of sell-on clauses which benefit the player were widespread in the game i`d be the first to admit old Doomy was right.  There really isn`t, and i remember even at the time he made the above quote West Brom were auctioning off 3 players for about £15m which effectively bankrolled their promotion.  Look at Leeds- not a sell-on clause in sight for Delph or Beckford. IMO Doomy was more than happy with sell-on clauses because in his spinny little mind he realised he could flog a player off for a profit and then claim there was nothing the club could do about it because of that nasty sell-on clause.  I`m confident that with someone who`s actually experienced and knows something about football now in charge we`ll see a clear change- it just obviously should have happened 3-4 years ago.
Bradford actually got around 650k in sell on clauses after Delph''s transfer to Villa
That`s not the sort of sell-on clause we`re on about mate, we`re talking about the kind inserted in a contract stating that if an offer for x amount comes in for the player they can go- these usually benefit the player more than the club and it seems to me they are nowhere near the "fact of footballing life" Doomy would have us believe.  Doomy did negotiate Hoolihans contract though......[:O]
That''ll teach me for only reading half the thread [:P]

 24.
To be honest as people are saying i think we need to stick the youths and reserves out in this competition. Im sure its not something we are particuarly bothered about. If we go out early nothing is lost but if if we can get a descent run it will be a good experience for the youngsters. We dont really want to get any key players injured in a tournament which isnt really that important to us
I believe they have rules to stop this. Have to play so many players from your regular starting line up I think.
