1.

My dear Wizard   Socialism''s results have ranged between the merely shabby and the truly catastrophic. Socialists run up other people''s bills. We should back the workers, not the shirkers! I was brought up by a Victorian grandmother and we were taught to work jolly hard. Many of our troubles are due to the fact that our people turn to politicians for everything. You were taught to prove yourself; you were taught self reliance. You were taught always to give a hand to your neighbour. You were taught tremendous pride in your country. There''s no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation. A penny saved is a penny earned and it''s these pennies saved that will help you to achieve your dreams throughout these difficult years ahead.   Be true to your heart and aim for your dreams...   Margaret.
So true, Margaret, so true.[Y] Victorian values. Hard work and thrift. But as we''re reminiscing about what a paragon of self-reliance you were, just remind our studio audience what it was first attracted to you multi-millionaire oil businessman Denis Thatcher?[;)]
Come now mate, it was obviously due to length of the Major''s pipeline.
 2. That''s way too funny.  BTW that''s Uncle Umed from Corrie Street who''s playing Forster.

 4.
ELF are you old enough to remember the central hotel treherne got burnt down in the 90s    was in there watching the stanley cup play offs  somebody came in said theres english soccer on channel whatever turned out to be ipswich in the 78 cup final  got them to turn it back to the hockey
Hey BC.  Not that I travel much on Highway 2 but I do remember something about the fire.  I''m surprised that the channel was even changed from the hockey playoffs when it was mentioned that footy was on the telly.  Even more surprising is the fact that the telly was able to pick up more than the CBC! [:D]  But then again, Hockey Night in Canada is all that matters come spring time. All the best mate!
 5. A spud farmer eh?  Hopefully things dry up quickly and it''s a good year for you folks.  All the best!
 6. Are heading to Treherene?  If so you need to go to L & J''s for a quick bite if it''s still there.  A few transplanted Norwich City supporters here in Winnipeg as well.
 7. Just remember to remove your ten favourite films list from your CV. [:O]
 8. While that''s bad news for Norwich, the next story below is even more interesting:ANOTHER BLOW FOR CITY AS ROBINHO WALKS OUT OF TRAINING http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/80815/Another-blow-for-City-as-Robinho-walks-out-of-training/
 9.
The selection of the next NCFC manager - is all down to me![:^)]
followed by the logical ''Eeny, meeny, miny moe'' or the practical ''rock-paper-scissors'' selection process.
 10.
Am I the only person having a chuckle over the fact someone named "Elf" has posted on this thread? Class!
lol. Nice catch, never thought about the irony!
 11. You sure this photo wasn''t taken from an episode of ''LIttle People, Big World''?
 12.

Jim Brennan.  I always though he was a first class individual who provided a steadying influence to the teams that he played for.
I so hope you are being ironic mate!
Surely, I do not jest.  With over 40 caps for the Canadian National Team, his experience is invaluable to a minnow football country.  I never said he was a "Man of the Match" candidate as is the reason he''s playing in the MLS, but the man certainly isn''t rubbish.  With that being said, he''s played football in the Premier League and the Championship along with his National Team.  How''s your footballing career coming along?
 13. Now living in Canada, I''d have to say Jim Brennan.  I always though he was a first class individual who provided a steadying influence to the teams that he played for.  Although no longer good enough to play in the best leagues, he can still provide leadership to a very weak Canadian National Team.
 14.
If he did go to T-dot or whoever else south of the border, wouldn''t he be playing throughout the summer? He''d be pretty knackered I reckon!Oh those hot Toronto days. I sure do miss sitting on a patio sipping steamwhistle watching the CN tower change colour...
Hucks is not coming to the MLS.  Beckham came to America because of Posh and not football.  Don''t the WAG''s control the players?I''ll have a pint for you here in The Peg, Feathers, minus the smog of course [:D]However, it''s -6 degrees right now so I''ll think I have it in house to celebrate Norwichs'' survival.
 15. Come on T dot.  Why would Hucks move across the pond to play League 2 calibre football?  I know you''re a huge fan of the MLS and that''s great, but do you think that his body would be able to survive a season of playing on field turf in Toronto?  Even the lure playing alongside Jim Brennan and fan-fav Carl Robinson  [:P] isn''t going to be enough to see Huck''s make the move to the colonies.Sorry mate.
 16.
Love that one, the last ones have been rubbish, made to fit ultra skinny people when in reality not everyone is built like a stick insect lol
LMAO How true.  I wasn''t sure if the long flight from Norwich to Canada shrunk it down to a tot''s fit or what.  Try like hell to avoid a full body profile mirror shot on match day.As for my all time favourite, I do have an affliction for the 1996/97 Mitre long sleeve kit.
 17. I think that the criticism is deserved. But whether you like it or not, he''s still leading the team in goals this season however pathetic the number is.  From what I remember, it''s difficult to put one in when your backside is riding the pine.  Put him back in the starting 11 with Ched and let''em see what they can accomplish over the remaining games. It can''t be any worse than what we''re accomplishing now.  Now if we start to give up 2 or 3 per game, then all bets are off!
 18. I can''t understand why he isn''t starting with Ched rather than the Dion/Evans lineup?  We know that Dion is not coming back next year and Jamie will be unless something changes in the summer.  Last year, he worked well  with a big partner and although Ched is only 6 feet, it takes time to form a partnership.  As per the source below, it seems that Ched maybe a target for a permanent signing since his contract is up at season''s end.  If Roeder is leaning that way, then why not pair these two up now and let them work it out?  It''s not like the current duo is knocking them in left and right.Wales line up the next big thingsicWales.co.uk (July 8, 2007)"He was voted Manchester City’s most promising player just after receiving a two-year pro contract last season."
 19.
Hmmm, A poster who backs up their opinions with reasoned argument and evidence. You''re really not going to fit in on this board, Mr TorontoFC4eva. May I suggest you accuse Delia of stealing all the transfer money to wallpaper her oven?
No, I don''t mean to be argumentative but perhaps you might want to get your facts straight.2007 RFK Stadium''s football capacity was 45,000.2007 MLS Cup drew 39,859.Tell me, does this look like paper tickets?etc etc It helps to talk about that which you know.

Hmmmmm, the truth you say;RFK Stadium CapacityBaseball: 46,382 (http://www.ballparksofbaseball.com/past/RFKStadium.htm)Football (NFL/Soccer): 56,000 and change (http://web.mlsnet.com/t103/stadium)oops. 20.
I went to Winnepeg! I did the train Vancouver - Halifax (not all in one go). I thought Winnepeg was a little dull though to be honest. How did you end up there (or end up supporting Norwich)?
Funny thing being a military brat.  Travel all over the world and end up in a place you''d never thought possible.  My dad was stationed at Marham and back and forth to Canada.  Been in Winnipeg since 1980 and have never left.  It''s funny that Winnipeg and Norwich are in similar in the sporting circles.  Winnipeg lost it''s NHL franchise (Winnipeg Jets)  back in the mid 90''s and now have a minor league team (Manitoba Moose).  The city is trying to get another NHL team here but I''m not sure that''s going to happen anytime soon because the NHL is grossly mismanaged and the costs are way out of wack, much like the EPL. I think that City have a better chance of promotion than Winnipeg  getting back into the NHL.  You''re right about Winnipeg, a pretty dull city and it seems to be getting duller by the day (talking people here lol).  Been thinking about moving back to England but pretty expensive to live compared to here so not sure what the near future holds.I''ve always been a supporter of Norwich and while I have my Internet season ticket, so to speak, I will still prefer to see them in person.  I can''t believe that there are Norwich supporters here in Winnipeg.  I''ve met around six people who still actively follow the team.  Cheers.OTBC
 21. Ok Tdot,You have your perceptions and I have mine.  LOL!All I''m saying is that if Huck''s has recently been placed in the Witness Protection Program then playing in the MLS is great move towards anonymity.  There is minimal coverage of the MLS at the local level and almost non-existant coverage at the national level.  I know that people care about the MLS and football in North America, but please don''t say it''s at the same level as back home.  That''s why I made the comment on the 5000 people.  I''d bet that the majority of Toronto FC fans are Toronto Maple Leafs fans first and everything else second.  When Toronto FC gets to the Leafs status among Torontonians then we''ll make comparisons to teams in the Football League and the EPL.  I could also say that about every other city in the MLS and USL.  Footy is a unstable, second tier sport in North America which has never made it to the mainstream as it has too many traditional North American sports ahead of it.  FAO Feathers. No I live a little bit (2000 km) west of Toronto in Winnipeg.OTBC
 22. Now, Now Tdot. You''re over exaggerating the statistics you''ve provided.  Statistics don''t tell the whole story though and I''ll agree that Toronto was the exception this season.  The number of no-shows at MLS games must be staggering then and just like the NHL if you like to paper the attendance figures for better optics then be my guest.  I''ve watched the MLS this season and it''s amazing how many fans look like empty seats on TV.  David Beckham''s appearance this MLS season vastly affected the average attendance numbers you provided.  If I''m not mistaken the Championship game drew an attendance of only 27,000 in a 55,000 seat stadium, no?  My point was that if Huck''s thinks that the MLS is going to be comparable to home, then he is game for a rude awakening.  Unless of course he always wanted to be on page 20 of the sports section and walk unnoticed down Yonge Street?MLS Review: Regular Season Stats Analysis, Part One
 23.

Latest news from the People (may not be true therefore), suggesting Hucks will be off to the U.S. very soon - http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=hotline-special-darren-huckerby%26method=full%26objectid=20300133%26siteid=93463-name_page.html
Didn''t Carl Robinson go to Toronto Fire?  So the "Huckerby wants to follow David Beckham" is only slightly misleading - he actually wants to join Robbo.
Cheers from Canada.Carl Robinson and Jim Brennan went to Toronto FC.  The Chicago Fire also play in the MLS.  Since Toronto play their home matches on artifical Field Turf and not natural grass would Huckerby''s body be able to cope with the pounding?  It''s a shame that Hucks may want to come to North America to conclude his career, but he should know that North America couldn''t give a rats arse to the MLS other than the 5000 football fans in each city.  Talk about fading into the sunset.Robbo and Brennan are also commentator''s  on The Score''s ''The Footy Show'' here in Canada. so maybe Hucks has stars in his eyes.  Personally, I hope he stays and finishes with Norwich.OTBC
