  1. how can anyone of you comment on the loans yet, you have not seen them play together. they have been brought in to form a team that will win games. Wait and see. Do you think that managers look for players they like without considering the options for the team.
  2. football is a business that in recent times has become very very lucrative. With so much money being pumped in to a club there are going to be conflicts of interest when it comes to someones idea of success. some would say winning games, getting promotion, some would say still exsisting as a football club in 2 years, some would say staying in the public eye to market other business ventures (think norwich city we all think of.................) some people would consider keeping the costs down so they get their bonus as a success. everybody has an agenda. Why was Worthy so successful? If i remember rightly there was speculation about his alleged ''special'' relationship with Delia (friends with delia means friends with the board) Now is that the board being stupid or worthy managing upwards very very well. Im in business so speak with some knowledge of management systems and hierarchies in business. A manager has responsibilities to manage people above and below him in order to be successful. The football manager wants the team to win, the team to be invested in, the players to be brought in. The chief exec and director of finance want to save money for what ever reason, i would suggest its for a bonus. It not unusual for this to be the case in any business. The key thing is that the Chief exec and finance people are managers too, they have bosses and targets to meet and it is this by its very nature that creates a conflict of interest. the manager wants success on the pitch and the finance director wants nice numbers on his apread sheet. In my opinion worthy was successful because he bypassed the people that would ultimatley cause him the problems when it came to finance and investment in the thing that matters, the team. He instead went to the organ grinder (delia)and formed a ''special'' relationship so when push came to shove over any issues of investment worthy told delia that the cheif exec/finance people (the monkies) should jump, she told the monkies to jump and they had no other option but to say ''how high?'' Worthy = upward managing genius
  3. it seems we have forgoten the heading of this stream. I agree, well done Joe, you deserve it. Yet again this forum seems to be caught up in its own battles rather then pay tribute to a great talent that has been called up to represent his country, i saw ''tiny minds'' mentioned on one reply, well said you
  4. this forum is an interesting place. People with decent points. people with genuine rumours (in there opinion) People on a wind up And then the ones who really dont get it, so let me tell you, by responding to comments that are in your opinion just ''stupid'' you are encouraging them to return with more stupid comments. you calm down!!!!!!!! This forum is very heavily monitored and it is monitored by archant, Norwich is a small place where people talk and lots of peopel hear. Anything on hear that makes referance to a credible sourse and refers to something worth knowing will not make it on. So here is my decent point to encourage descussion. How do we finalise deals with players? Does GR tell the board who he wants and they do the rest? Does GR tell the board how much that player is worth to him and the team? I think that is a crucial point, if the board value the player themselfs they will only value him on afordability not football value.   And other thing, Im on a role now, I dont like the business side of football but i try and understand it so for those of you who responed to the origional comment on this thread think of this. A few teams want Tiny and all of them want to pay the minimum, its a game of cat and mouse, if someone wanted him and he wanted to go it would be a prem side who would charge in with a massive bid and a massive wage for tiny that nither side could not turn down. That is the annoying situation we are in, need to save money cant outbid teams in this league, we have to bide our time, watch the situation, keep tempting the player, and just hope all comes together at the right time. Whilst i was writting this the new derby owner came on sky sports news, For christ sake delia, donc, mumby, turners, listen to him. For those of you who cant see it in basic terms he said, we want success at this club, we want to be in the prem, we will be investing in the team because investing in the team and success on the pitch go hand in hand.
  5. fax machine in Soho will be busy sending his contract of emplyment from the fa and preston is the home of the national football museum, their fax machine will be busy contacting ND about the his contribution to a display about people who have **^*ed up football ;-)
  6. maybe but if my theory is right there is something very wrong at the club.............. Glenn finds his man, the coach he wants, he thinks he his the best man for the job and the club cant back up his decision with a good enough contract............well come to norwich city mr roeder. How many players will not sign for the club.........are we offering poor deals......................speculate to accumulate..............as a club we have stood still since leaving the prem The board have a lot to answer for and Mr doncaster, what do you actually do to help the club??????????????????????
  7. Theory Holman leaves without comment from club Tommy Wright agrees to join, glenn has a chat with his friend and offers him the job, he says yes, then changes his mind, why? Stewart Murdock agrees to join, glenn has a chat with his mate and offers him a job, he says yes, he is out of work so starts coaching at ncfc and sorts deal out whilst doing so. and then suddenly changes his mind. Family reasons? did he not talk to his misses before starting? not convinced!!!!!!! (club were very quick to say it was family reasons, was it a deflection away from another reason?) Both think its great to work for a club like NCFC and they jump at the oppotunity to do so, however, it turns out to be not that great? why? Glenn offers job to his mate and then gives him a poor contract, think not, so who hands out the deals? we are not prepared to pay going rate or give contracts worth signing pay peanuts and get......................................
